    It's wild how you can recognise some of these roads and PAs, having never been there, just from them being featured in video games such as Genki's Shutokō Battle series.

    Love the backstory on Tatsumi PA, and learning that its position along the highway allowed drivers to enter, exit, run the loop, and re-enter the PA, without having to leave the highway and pay extra tolls! Brilliant.

    I absolutely adore Tatsumi PA. Many years ago on a trip to Tokyo I rented a 34 at Omoshiro rental and accidentally drove to the other Tatsumi first haha. I was so lost but a local that was there in a wild EVO 5 told me to follow him the actual Tatsumi PA. I then saw a couple of raw OG street racer type RWBs before all the global fame online. They had tons of battle scars so you could tell they were driven hard. I made a friend there whose car unfortunately died, then the police came to shut down the lot. We were the only ones there for an hour or so until we got it running, the cops were so nice haha. We spent the whole night driving to the different PAs. One of the best memories I have in Tokyo. Great video! Love the ending!

    It's always been my dream to eventually get to drive out to Tatsumi, so hearing about it being closed early during the past few years has been disheartening. Glad to see it being closed much later again and hope that it remains that way.

    As always awesome video! It remained me about all the stories that I had read on Speedhunters about it and dream to visit this place. Definitely adding it to my list of places to visit for my next trip to Japan in February after picking up rental car. Alongside Daikoku and Umihotaru.

    Between Tokyo Extreme Racer 0, and random videos I heard of the names and saw them in cartoon ratios. Once I found Speedhunters and other choice spots, I got this kind of information and a bit more understanding of what “locals only” means beyond fighting for space. Thanks for sharing this insight, means a lot.

    3:49 Well, then that's on the car nerds. I generally don't have _too_ much of an issue with some hooliganism so long as nobody else gets hurt, but not stepping on people's toes is a pretty crucial reason for past street racers getting away with as much as they used to. Don't mess with the freakin' truckers, fellas.
    5:41 Perfect example. Sick 1M, but like.....park it somewhere else.

  • @amduser86
    @amduser86 2 місяці тому +2

    Kindly advise. Blocking the speedometer does not mean one can not figure out the speed of the car. Since i do not know Japanese regulations i am not able to do it.But the distance of the lane markers should be regulated and normally one can calculate driving speed with that information and the frame rate of the video. Just drive within the speed limit if you want to show it or use slow motion footage. From my experience Japanese police is always relatively strict to foreigners that misbehave.
