- Whistler Blackcomb has been blessed with 177cm of snowfall in the past 7 days. That's 69 inches or close to 6 FEET for all you Americans! Everyone was eager for the alpine to open and miraculously the snow took a breather, blue sky emerged and I was gifted with one of the greatest 7th Heaven laps of all time. Huge shoutout to Liquid Courage's #1 sponsored athlete @Subalpinism Sid! The skiing just keeps getting better and better. Get after it while the temperature stays cool! Stay safe & Stay Spicy.

That skier fall was crazy! He was very lucky with so many expose rocks around. WB's ski patrol team are some of the best. Great video as always.
WB patrol are absolutely amazing. So thankful the skier is okay. One of the craziest falls I've ever witnessed.
"I'll take it slow" proceeds to ski faster than I usually do on piste
LOL - I couldn't help myself :)
Ski Patrol is awesome.
Stop bye their office at your local resort and say thanks, make a donation, or buy them lunch one day.
We seem to overlook how important they are until we're lying in the sled.
Best week of the winter and looks like more snow on the way....
Yeeeewwwww!!!!
⛷💥💨💨
Everyone just seemed to have the nastiest coughs in the lift line across western Canada hahah
The good old powder flu......
😂
@@chazbickel4518 Looks like you changed your comment but I couldn't agree more. Give em' a hi five, say thanks, donate or even a case of beer goes a long way. Ski patrol are heroes on a daily basis!
James you’re obviously an incredible skier and know whistler like the back of your arse, but is it not a lil dangerous to be skiing in pow that deep on your own? We don’t wanna lose our favourite ski UA-camr 😅🫶
I bought a couple of the friends of blackcomb limited edition t shirts they were selling, they rock ;)
Damn! That fall was no joke!
Kinda sick you got the shot tho.
All the best to the guy who took the fall 💪👊
Hospital & patrol found the video quite helpful and I had the skiers permission to share once we knew they were going to be okay. Scary stuff!
The kids in cheetahs ears were super stoked to meet you, and even more stoked to be in this video. Two of the cheetahs are back home in Toronto and dreaming of their next Whistler trip, but until then they'll be watching your videos.
Glad the cheetah ear gang had a fun time swimming in the powder! See ya next time :).
Thanks for taking care of the rider before the pow. I volly on whistler patrol and im amazed at how many people ignore serious injuries because they are having a pow day. Good on you.
It's our duty as skiers to help others out! I'd hope others would do the same for me. Super thankful for the talented patrol team and all the work they do to keep us safe on such gnarly terrain.
It's just amazing to see you going through the trees at that speed..Great video again, but just be careful, I want to see more of your videos. I'm having a smill on my face , just watching your vids. Stay safe.
So much fun out there right now. Hopefully you snuck up for some weekday turns!
Dang!! You had me smiling the whole time. I was grinning like Joker. Gosh I miss POW days at whistler. I'm more amazed to see you help out a fella skier in need. That's what's up!!!
the fact you got those little kids to say 'stay spicy'😂😂
They were legends. One of them started ripping into me about my inability to not burn pancakes hahahha
Man that first lap down Reservoir Trees on 7th, just insane. What a storm cycle, meant so much to everyone after this awful winter. First day skiing bell to bell pow in a while.
I'll remember that lap forever. So glad we were gifted that storm cycle. Felt like some real skiing again!
Love those white walkers 🌲but remember TREES ALWAYS WIN!
Talk about being in the right place at the right time. I hope the video goes viral so your channel gets some traction and everyone discovers and finds out you make great content !
Nothing's better than being around for a big storm at the home resort!
Got in on Friday, skiing until Wednesday. It’s been amazing!
How did you manage to time that! Legend.
@@riseandalpine Maybe I'm good luck?! lmao
as snowboarder I appreciate your content and most of all the positive attitude you've endured throughout less than ideal conditions for most of the season. Glad you're getting it!
Thanks! Always stoked to have snowboarders along for the ride. Hard to be negative when I'm on the snow!
I am so happy that skier was not badly hurt--I could not believe his horrible fall.......you are a good guy for going over there.❤ As for your runs today----talk about spicy! Good skiing by a great skier!Lynn in NYC (where we just got about a foot of rain!!)
So happy the skier is alright. Sounds like it's time for you to take out the water skis!
I was a much better snow skier than a water skier--that is for sure! LOL @@riseandalpine
Recently came across your videos. They have been pretty good and entertaining. That tumble was something else. Good on ya for helping out. Keep up the good work!
So glad you found my channel and are liking my vids!! Craziest fall I've ever seen. So happy the skier is okay.
That fall has to be the scariest thing I've ever seen... so glad they're alright with minor injuries.
It was horrifying to see. So glad they are okay.
What an awesome gift from Ullr!!!
So grateful
So stoked for you man, that looks insane
A day to remember!
EPIC DAY!!! I hope that poor soul you caught on here bailing is going to OK! The line ups on Spanky's is crazy now! Seventh Tree's are amazing! Best video from you yet!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
The skier is doing very well which is a total blessing!
I’m so jealous of your what the quack best run! I couldn’t believe my eyes, that strait clearing of fresh pow ❤❤ Such an amazing video filled with joy. Thanks for sharing. Glad the accident guy was ok.🇬🇧
A multiple quack kind of day for sure!
My day always gets better when you upload
Thanks dude1
Up on dat mountain yeah booiiii!
Yeeehaw!
We need to get you to at least 500k users. What a great day of skiing there for me!!!
Awesome with the help for the fallen fellow, so glad to know he'll be back soon!
Glad you got some of that powder too! A wild adventure all around.
EPIC!
Holy bananas, dude!
Rad day. Good on ya for helping that dude.
Super rad day! Was happy to help and glad the skier went home without major injuries.
Bro was indeed goosin it. Sick days.
This is brilliant, I was there too and felt the exact same way!
Glad you got in on the pow party!
just started skiing this year and went to silverstar for a week ski trip just 2 weeks after you were there this year. you inspired me to get into skiing and i now have a new addiction, what a blast. Needless to say lords of the land was played on repeat in the lift lines. keep making great vids man. hope to run into you on a hill some day!
This makes me so happy. Encouraging others to get into the best sport in the world is one of the big reasons I do this! Excited to hear about how your skiing progresses.
I learned a lot that day. Second season and it was my first time skiing double blacks (Horseshoe 3 and Sun Bowl) and first time in knee deep powder😊
Great day for learning how to ski deep powder and double blacks!
Prob a crazy feeling
Nothing beats it!
damn thats a gnarly fall! good on ya for helping and getting patrol... also check the forecast for the coming friday :)
Helping a fellow skier is always a priority! Can't believe we got another pow weekend on the way!
@@riseandalpineI'm on call this week. 😢
looks so crazy! also looks like another massive storm on the way next week when im skiing, so hyped!
Can't believe we got more coming in!
I saw that guy fall and heard him scream in pain. Really glad to hear he's ok
An absolute miracle that he is alright!
That fall was crazy, hope he's okay and good on you for helping! Sick video as always! also nice seeing you and talking to you at the parking lot -:)
Nice meeting you as well! He's doing just fine all things considered. Total miracle nothing major happened with a fall like that.
Super sick day dude!! Really glad that buddy was okay. Whis patrol was awesome!
Such a rad day. You're the GOAT.
@2:10 that’s so much snow. That looks so awesome.
A ridiculous amount of snow!
I was at WB 3 - 10 February, bit too early... Glad you could enjoy the powder!
It's so hard to time the snow. The more you go, the better odds you have of hitting a mega week like this!
First time to Whistler was last week. Skied Sunday through Friday with perfect storm skiing Wednesday and freshies the following days. The snow dance paid off big time
Couldn't have picked a better time!
Hi James 😊 Good things comes to those who wait! Whoo… Hoo… I always enjoyed Whistler on days like this. What a “Skigasm” you’re having 🤪 BTW… I bought 4 stickers. I hope this helps the cause… they will make their Jungfrau Ski Region debut at the end of March 😊⛷
Ayyeee - just packaged your order. Stoked to have stickers making an appearance over seas!
Insane powder day.so much snow!
Really can't beat it
I commented a couple weeks ago about your aggressive glades skiing. This was insane! It’s interesting to see how you’ve dialed it all in to the point of zen. The flow!
🤙
Glade skiing is my jam!
That’s crazy skiing
SO much fun!
Damn Dude, that looks ridiculous! Get it!!
Such a blast!
Wow that was a pretty nasty ragdoll fall that guy took I sure hope he's ok. Straight up great job helping him out and waiting for ski patrol, that's how it's done no matter how good the snow or skiing is you always help those in need on the mountain period. Respect.
Worst fall I've witnessed. So glad he's okay. Ski patrol rocks!
Just waiting to watch my favourite skier
Thanks Becky :)
amazing vid...so glad you guys got the goods
There were goods everywhere all week long! Such good memories.
love your videos as always. so exited to go skiing soon myself
Ayye have fun out there!
Yeah. @@riseandalpine could you make a video about the best line at lake louis? im going there next week, and the going there again in april. It would be super cool to know the best path lol
Great video James, face shots galore you finally got the deep stuff like way down south has! At Sunpeaks till tomorrow then off to Revy good conditions but not getting the depth that you have over there. The snow is still following you...lucky and spicy. Peace Out
Glad the snow is shaping up for the both of us. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
that skier bounced on impact. You never wanna see that. yeesh. Good for sticking by.
So hard to watch a fellow skier fall like that, so thankful he's doing okay!
The moment you got on the chair at 7th I was thinking to myself - if I was skiing that day I'd hit reservoir trees first thing and you did!
Great minds think alike! Always have to think about what the winds done to the snow.
coming home from work to a new upload slaps!
Glad you're working me into the day schedule!
Finally, for once I don't have "pow envy" from one of your videos. Just skied 6 days at Whitewater and one at Red, pretty much the same conditions. Unreal, 130cm over 7 days. Fresh lines every day! Glad to see everyone's season is being saved with awesome conditions. Glad to hear that skier was ok, that was a scary fall to watch. Having been in the care of WB ski patrol myself (just got checked out and escorted down the mountain after a bit of a noggin impact) I can attest to how good those guys are.
A day like this at Red & Whitewater would be beyond fun! Patrol are total rockstars!
Hope your concussion recovery went okay as well. TBI can be a tricky recovery!
@@riseandalpineAll good
Wish I could like this twice, good on you for forgoing the rest of the pow day to help that person out
Always happy to help. What a fabulous day!
Living the dream life.. perfectly documented video of what I already knew was gonna be absolute heaven 😂
No matter where I skied or what I filmed it would have been an awesome video
4:03 damn that's some steep. You pick up speed like you're thrown off a cliff! Love me some pow trees but I don't have the confidence in my control in powder to do that safely
Love your enthusiasm! Keeps me entertained with all that white stuff!
Hard to be anything but stoked with snow so good! Thanks for watching.
That was a nasty tumble, glad he's alright. Some glorious powder - keep enjoying it for the rest of us.
So glad the skier is alright as well. I'll keep getting turns for everyone!
Woah that was crazy deep pow
The deepest!
I didn't know Zack de la Roche could ski so well. Awesome 👍🏻
hahhaha
I was at WB this weekend and it was great looked down a couple times and couldn’t see my legs. Awesome. I really hope the person is ok
The rider is doing super well and only has a few minor injuries! So glad you got in on some of this pow!
I was up on saturday it was amazing!. I cant believe you changed your jacket. Now if I ever see you I wont be able to know it was you 😂😅
I've never seen a worse fall than that.
Glad you got after it on Saturday. Fall was insane. So glad the skier is alright!
That fall was like something you would see on the Freeride World Tour… ai yai yai!
100% almost worse than a FWT fall.
this is unreal, watching this mid-summer here in NZ makes me jealous 😂
Soon you'll have your turn when I'm sun tanning and dreaming of the snow
10:00 that's freaking insane.
Absolutely mint eh!
Pleasure to ride the Peak with you yesterday (Sunday)!
Always a pleasure running into you Richie! Girlfriend had her best run down Whistler Bowl yet!
Snorkel deep pow pow ...so jelly
Best day ever!
what a dream
Just saw the ragdoll fall. Oh my, hope that person is alright....
Rider is totally fine. Just minot injuries and very sore of course. Total miracle given that fall.
It's unfair. You're there and I'm here🙃
Come here!
The dream
Couldn't be better!
Of course it dumps the day after we leave Whistler! lol… that ok though, got some freshies at my home resort the next day w/ no line ups!!
That was a gnarly fall! Glad the dude is ok.
Glad you got some freshies at Washington! Weather always seems to be uncooperative when you plan a ski trip
Can’t complain though since most of the resort was open and we got to see a lot! Your blackcomb and whistler guide helped us a lot! Really appreciate it!
yeeeeeehaaaaa
YEEEhAAAARRR
I think thats a, "POW WOW" day.
So jealous right now, its 30 degrees Celsius + here in Australia and i can only dream of that much snow. I think we have had 80 cm in about 3 days at some point.
80cm in 3 days in Australia! Was that a record on your local mountains?
I just checked some snowfall records At or highest resort "Perisher" a snow storm in 2017 dubbed, " The Blizzard of Oz" dumped 1.2m over 72 hr.
Dryyy powder 👌🏼👌🏼
Bro nearly filmed a guy dying!
Perfect snow. So thankful the skier was alright!
Do they sell insta360 snorkels because I think you needed one. Hope that one guy is safe, praise tye patrol.
The accessory we never knew we needed
With all that deep powder it would be good to hear from you in a video about how you avoid tree wells
Often people ask for this video but I don't really have any tips. I just keep speed, turn around them and try not to fall. Skiing with a nearby friend is one of the most important things.
ill be there 2 wks later. hope the powder condition will be similar 🤞
The snow isn't going anywhere!
Hey what setting is this shot on the jnata 360 x3 ? Looks insanely crisp 👌 gj bud
Filming in 5k the trick is export settings. On the desktop app export it in 4k and keep the mpbs above 100. Take hours and hours to export but the footage looks amazing
We left the morning the snow started coming down, sketchy drive back to Vancouver, I'm crying I didn't get to experience this pow...
Noooo - such a shame. That always seems to be what happens on ski trips LOL
Dude, that fall was insanely bad. Hopefully they made it out without any life changing injuries.
Checked in on them. No major injuries, it's truly a miracle.
That bail was insane. Did he try an intense line or just slip off the path he was on? All the Pow, and he goes over the rocks, hard luck. Hope they were not too seriously injured
Skier was very experienced, just caught an edge or a rock in the ice and slipped backwards. No one really saw exactly how it started. They only suffered a few minor injuries. Absolute miracle!
@riseandalpine fantastic they only had minor injuries after that tumble. Every time I peak over the edge to see if a run is within my limited abilities, I fear a slip and tumble like that. Stay safe out there
@@riseandalpinethe fall was from upper Ruby? Skied through there today. Looked like the upper cliff line
SICK!!! How long did you have to wait for first chair? I'm a powder hound, but need to become more familiar with the strategy for these types of days.
I never really wait for first chair. I just keep my eye on the whistler peak app and roll over to the chairs once they are about to open. At the base, if you want first gondola that's like 6am or earlier probably and for peak chair or glacier people will wait hours upon hours for first tracks.
Dang hours upon hours is crazy! Might have to try that thought thanks for the info!
“I’ll take it slow” *proceeds to still rip a nasty line*
I was worried about sharks and then the stoke took over
I’m coming to whistler tomorow. Is there still good snow?
So much good snow!
At 10:05 you reached powgasm ! ❄
Hahahah totally!
That fall looked a lot worse than it actually was. Based on the way his body moved and how he landed, it didn't look like anything was particularly contorted. Definitely some bruising and maybe arm/leg/rib injuries. VERY lucky he didn't seem to hit any rocks.
Worst fall I've ever witnessed. Such a blessing he was alright.
Missed a quack at 9:34
Holy QUACK... you're right
How was snow quality? Looks nice and dry!
Snow is the lightest and driest I've ever seen!
What run was he skiing when he fell? High ruby entrance?
Yep High ruby
Throw in some a couple "rubber ducky" and you'll be skiing with the boy genius @steepsteep in no time.
Would love to ski with the king Rubber Ducky!
The crash was absolutely insane.
Craziest I've ever seen
How you think about tree wells when you’re crushing runs like those on 7th brother?
I try to turn around them and not fall. There is really no way to be 100% safe.
@@riseandalpinety for reply. perhaps I worry too much. I try and leave a wider berth - might just need to carry your speed instead and go right over them 😂
You in those Deeep trees alone. Its fun but I've been in a few tree wells kinda freaked me out.. Not meaning to be a buzz kill just sayin looks prime territory... Love the vids man..
I was skiing with my buddy Sid. Of course there is still a high level of treewell danger. Risk I'm willing to take, I love tree skiing so much.
Last week: whistler's tapp3d. Global werming.
This week: Storm of the decade!!
All over the map this year
What kind the ski do you use?
Nordica Unleashed 114
crying because seasons over on east coast
so sad for you east coasters this season
Dude I was at spanks 3 weeks ago and the same thing happened to me AT THE EXACT SPOT, some kid pushed me off right before I dropped and it was to icy to stop to I fell almost all the way down and I have 5 fractures and a cuncusion
Someone pushed you? That's horrible. Hope your recovery is going well! That's one of the gnarliest spots to fall and it is often super icy.
wow, that fall. Hopefully hes ok
Thankfully just a few minor injuries!
So depressing as I watch this at the top of my lift in Vermont where it’s currently raining.
East is getting it bad this year....
