I was one of the 20,711 in attendance for the game between Indiana Fever vs Washington Mystics and it was amazing. Fans pay to see all the players although Clark was the highlight - even though the fans knew CC would play less than usual - all positive communication and fans enjoying the game even the reserves who played their hearts out. I think the negativity comes from outside people / media / tv who want to run their narrative and get clicks. Fans pay good money to see great players play not to get involved in outside issues. When you go to a game have your money ready because it is not cheap to see CC play. I applaud your take on this story. Thank You
Glad you highlighted jus how classy CC behaved last year, Rich. She was under enormous pressure and expectation. Plus, she didn't really have time off between a grueling college and pro schedule, so was dead tired halfway through last season. Thankfully she had the Olympic break to recharge, and everyone saw how a refreshed CC can play if given time to catch her breath. Just a side note: To me this has never been about race. If any player had as exciting a game as hers I'd be the first sing their praises. I'm so stoked to see how she'll play this season with a year of experience under her belt and a new coach that seems to know how to get the most out of her.
But she has now bent her knee to the woke lies by lying that she's successful due to the supposed privilege of her skin being white. Because of that I'm not going back to watching the WNBA at all...
@ I’m so glad I took your advice and read the whole article for myself. It covers a lot in a quick read, and I feel like I heard more from Clark personally than all season. I can imagine the various narratives that will be created around it, and now I know to skip that stuff. So thanks for saving me the time and confusion.
Oh boy! TIME will not be able to keep up production on this issue. Congrats, Caitlin! You represent young women with your god given gifts. I feel so proud as if you were my own daughter. 🥰
How cool is that! So well deserved for CC! She's really got it going on. I'm very happy for her. She is such a good and decent person and Time Magazine couldn't have gotten it more right. I think she will continue to revolutionize the W. I'm already looking forward to next season! Thanks for the info...
From her high school through college and into the WNBA, she began as a great, but her drive to be better, to address her weaknesses and to be the most effective team member with whatever group she is a part of has always shone through. What makes her worthy of being athlete of the year is she is already the best rookie ever, yet to her, she is just getting started, and hasn't yet reached the game she knows she can and will play.
I know it's early days (and agree read it yourselves, also has play button so you can just sit back and listen. As many online will take parts of it out of context.) But can not help but think the WNBA in particular & good ole ESPN will either ignore it or pick fault with it. Wish folks would focus on her. Not who she plays like or who they think is better than her. I get so fed up with the mainstream media narrative where they just can not talk about C# on her own. No wonder they are losing viewers. The Joe Public have had enough.
Let’s be honest,Nike hasn’t released CC shoes because everyone knows that their going to sell out quick and any other players shoes are just going to sit there and gather dust, that’s why they made an 8 year deal because they know what’s going to happen, and their not bothered about the few raising a fuss that they haven’t released her merchandise yet,it just builds up the demand once it does happen.
the biggest thing i think we as caitlin clark fans can do is be the type of fans we claim we are. let those that are the reason for those narratives be on their own island.
I agree, I thought they spent too much time on race issues, but it's mainstream media. What did we expect? Of course they were going to use this opportunity to push their narratives. Time is no better than any of the others, it almost felt like they were using Caitlin to that end.
I agree, they spent a lot more time on race that Caitlin. I had a more in depth comment that got deleted twice and I know that was not you Rich, I know who it was.
i don't think its divisive at all. It's just an acknowledgement of the differences between players. doesn't take away her scoring records, awards, popularity or anything that makes her a phenonmenon. shes going to have just as many people love her after this cause shes that great and has the spark in a way no one else does.
Very few people can swallow their ego and change their minds/admit they were wrong, hope some people will have the fortitude to do so but I won't hold my breath.
Congratulations to Caitlin Clark, very disappointing take by this dude. He doesn’t mention the elephant in the room concerning the CC haters with their hateful comments because he is worried about his bottom line with clicks, views etc. He doesn’t hesitate to mention things that black players might have done to contribute to this controversy between black and white. That’s what Caitlin meant about privilege, he has to act like there is only one side that has done anything wrong because he isn’t as brave as Caitlin. These podcasters know how to make their money, so they will always try to keep the division and hate going. It’s disappointing but what can you do.
I would have avoided the section where she was talking about black women period if I was afraid of something. I'm not worried about anyone "not watching" i welcome everyone to come talk in ways where we can understand the topic better together. Am I going to run into people who agree with me all the time? No. They still watch my videos and respect my approach because I'm not going to go out of my way to trash the players unless it's warranted and I'm going to be honest on how I feel about given situations. It's unfortunate you don't feel I was or I was omitting things, this was general overview that I didn't want to kick open fully because I wanted to encourage people to seek out the full thing itself and then come back with their opinions. Did folks send absurd stuff at black women in and around the league...ABSOLUTELY. My goal is talk about Caitlin, her accomplishments, and the sport itself. I'm not fighting every single battle because it's not my job to fix. I appreciate ya reaching out, and maybe more stuff will run into you where you'll get a better gage of what I do.
@@RichLatta ok, my apologies, I might have misunderstood you, this was my first time seeing one of your podcasts. I think you did a good job on this subject, and yea you can’t fight all the battles, but it gets frustrating when everything is so one sided. hey willard. the last thing she showed me in this interview was fear. regardless of what her comments were they would be over scrutinized or not good enough or too late. She's growing into finding the mediums she wants to deliver her message. reminds me of kobe in the second half of his career.

Oh, this is why the WNBA have changed their tune about CC. They have done a complete about face just a few days ago. I cannot make myself remember the name of the W's CEO but she must go. On the business side, by ignoring Caitlin and what she brings to the league, it has cost the WNBA millions of dollars in revenue by not embracing Caitlin. Caitlin was given the ROTY trophy during a Fever practice. If CC had bombed, then they look like a good organization who supported talent who could not make the leap to the Pros. But Caitlin and the Fever still showed their ability inspite of coaching, WNBA management, reffing, and players hard fouls. The way the league picked last year schedule for the Fever left a sour taste in my mouth.

Got a question specifically?
@RichLatta Nope. Just asking your opinion. Does league purposely ignore her or is it just incompetent?
I'll answer it in a video. Thanks Howard.
You know, Nike pays attention to youtubers that mention their company’s name. You should say something.
I don't think I have that power but eventually I'll put the Nike video together, its been on the list.
