Their Clipper (Business) Class was 2-2-2 in a 747. If you were Pan Am Platinum, they upgraded you free of charge. As a student traveling back and forth, their luxury and service was unparalleled.
In my opinion, this airplane was so much better looking than today's commercial jetliners....The designers took their time to make it look graceful like a true work of art. The 747 still looks modern today....they say, the 747 is on the way out faster than planned due to the cvd virus...that may be true for now..but give it time...the 747 isn't really going away..... you'll see!!!
Thank you very much for sharing! I've always dreamt of Pan Am, but looking at the premium class as it looked was back in the day, I can't help but wonder what kind of product they would have been offering, should they still exist today. Service and foods were certainly superior, but there didn't seem to be that much of a difference between the economy and the superior cabins back then.
BOEING 747,EX BOAC forward fuselage section, upper deck, flight deck can be seen. At San Carlos airport in California. I have a video up on UA-cam showing it.
It was exactly 1 month and 18 days before Pan Am 103 exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland. 38 Syracuse University students died in that horrific disaster along with 205 other passengers and a flight crew of 15.
Different aircraft, the Lockerbie plane was N739PA. Such a horrific, sad event - my heart still breaks thinking about it even though I didn't know anybody onboard. The 32nd anniversary of the crash was just two days ago.
@@wkaemena I am! Thank you for uploading these videos. Somebody really liked planes back in the 1980s, and we thank them for that...camcorders were pretty giant things back then.
Awesome airline. Better days Love the Viasa dc ten in background
Hi, thanks for sharing. I'm watching this video in Montevideo at November 13th 2021. Greetings from Montevideo
@7:54, that was Pan Am class, permitting customers to experience the finest of service. Unfortunately, long gone. Thank you so much for posting.
Those 100 series looked so comfortable
7:52 That old gal knows how to party 🎉! Feet up, sipping champagne, reclining in first class on a classic 747-100. Don't get much better than that.
Espectacular video me recordó mucho mi infancia, mis tíos viajaron años en esta aerolínea tan querida
Beautiful old gal, the Queen of the Skies. ✈💙
Outstanding job getting the interior!
Usually not so detailed.
Definitely deserves more views.

That it was. Today substandard service and uncomfortable seats.
wow what a beautiful video, great piece of history, thanks for sharing
PA's last 747 departure from SCEL (Santiago, Chile) was incredible. Someone who's watching this video must remember it.

Man oh man, how the world has changed... and not for the better.
It’s a good airliner
Merci pour ce partage 👍
Travel in a Jumbo 747 for a flight that lasts about half an hour. I call that "traveling in style" 😅
Danke !!
Iconic Pan Am 747-100. A beautiful aircraft, not like today's cookie cutter twin's on the wings, can't tell one from another snooze fests.
Does anyone know where we can see those old jet planes, parked somewhere in the US?
scrapped and melted to metal blocks ,to make new 777,787 planes.
@@amuxpatch2798 they are still in museums
