I was once on record saying that the traditional fighting team game role of "battery" didn't exist in this game, since everyone games basically the same'ish amount of bar. Vegito blows that out of the window. Honestly I think his ki swords might be bugged even because the meter gain is absurd!

Yep I often slow down the combos in my vids, often if I watch other peoples videos I use the UA-cam speed player to slow them down myself, so I am like "why not just cut out the middle man".

In regards to what you said about assists, he can actually use them really well to combo off of his down s after using his smash attack. You can actually do a loop of heavy ki blast into down s, then use assist and then repeat it again, then use assist then do whatever finisher you want. You can usually end up with a scaled combo of 5000 this way! Its freakin awesome. Works best with yamcha and bardock. You could also super dash if the assist hits while the beam sword is in the opponent.

Honestly I don't care if his lack of a traditional knock-down air heavy keeps him from cracking the meta, everything he does looks so cool and he's so much fun to play. Vegito is my new mid, since his assist does the one thing I wanted that my previous mid (Trunks) couldn't do: Vegito's Split Finger Shot can allow Bardock to nab another combo after a Saiyan Spirit in the corner. The fact Vegito is just so much fun AND plays nice with Bardock is everything I wanted.
Hey Rooflemonger, For your first bnb, I believe there is an error in the notation (in the description). You put L L S after the double jump but it should L M S since that is what is actually shown in your inputs (in game). If you do L L S the sassy kicks afterwards will not connect no matter how fast you do it.
With assists like Beam Assist or Vegeta assist, you can reliably combo after his grounded level one in the corner much like Bardock's charging level one.
Been playing with him for awhile in training and he is super wacky with some of the things you can pull off. I'm having a hard time rewiring my brain to adapt to his combo structure
I have a hard time using characters without an air 2H that allows for simple jump cancels. That's why I'm still using characters like A21, SSJ Goku, Goku Black, Tien and Vegeta instead of Beerus, Frieza, Zamasu or even Cell. :(
Will Kershisnik you can jump cancel the 2h, you have to delay the LL when you land the dragon dash. Then you can jump cancel and land the whole combo. It's a bit tricky at first, but it unlocks a bit more damage for her.
Run some games yersterday with Broly, vegeta blue and vegito. Vegito assist help on neutral and bait the super dash with broly on point. But gotta learn to be patiens with him but got a lot of tools
There is 1 important combo for vegito missing. He can keep the opponent in the corner after a hit confirm in the corner. Only 2 things needed is the Down S launcher to switch sides and finish the air combo with down H into Medium command grab for the slide knockdown. You don't need any meter to do so.
I might sound like an idiot but how do you get your opponent to go at the very end of the Ki-sword so you can do the medium version of the kicks because everytime I do it the opponent just stays in front of me and I can't land it. PLZ HELP
Vegito's potential combo game is absolutely terrifying. He can go from corner to corner, build insane meter, and do damage without really thinking about it.

The sparking blast he builds 5 bars solo, so start with 2 bars and re-order the combo with a few assists and yeah it would be childs play to make it a ToD. However that's not really what my videos are about cause I don't wanna get into weird hyper team specific combos since this is a vegito showcase :-0

another combo for corner, if you don't mind: 2M, 236M, wait a bit, 5L, 2M, 5M, 9M, L, 9L, L, L, S, SD, L, L, L, S, 236M, and from here either super or Vanish, 214M, super. Both cases you will end up in the corner where you began. Around 5.6k damage and stylish as fuck.

My guess would be to adjust your height with aerial auto-combo's tracking, but I was able to consistently connect with JC>j.5M>j.5L>j.5S in training mode. I did only try it against three characters, however (Fused Zamasu, Majin Buu, and Kid Buu). Do certain other characters fall out, perhaps? Or is there another reason?
Does air S have weird properties? I can’t get it to pierce opponents at an auto-adjusted height so I can follow up with the chacha/sassy kicks. I’m trying to use it as an alternative to j.H>j.dH>m. sassy after using galactic donut assist near the end of my combo, so my chain’s looking like: slide, standing M~j.M>J.H>j.dH, homing, j.M>j.H>m. sassy, donuts (double jump), j.L>j.L>jH>m. sassy>air super

is it just me or does the very first combo not work on a lot of characters when starting the combo off with a 5l? for instance i hit it every time on goku when starting with a 5l but on say kid buu and ginyu the first S always whiffs for me
I was having trouble too but I think I found the problem, here is the written notation: reverse beat or light starter, jump MLL, S, homing dash, MLL, double jump, LL, S, medium sassy kicks, air super however the video demo has: reverse beat or light starter, jump MLL, S, homing dash, MLL, double jump, **LM**, S, medium sassy kicks, air super. Looks like the autocombo in the notation is giving some extra height causing the S to knock the opponent up too high to land the sassy kicks?
remember after the jump its LM not LL! That said if you have troubles after that do a very slight delay of the LM to the S to get that extra height on the ki sword.

Hey can anyone give me a tip at the end of the vegito combos when he uses spirit sword to lighting kicks after It always drops whenever I do the spirit sword when I try the lighting kicks it whiffs every time the only way I can do them if I do a straight up special which is not enough damage
make sure to look at my inputs and make sure you don't deviate from the button presses. Sometimes you want LL in air combo, sometimes its LM, any deviation and the combo won't work.
That first comb looks a little bugged I’ve done it a few time now and when the sword hits them before the kicks it puts them up to high for the kicks to land

For basic BNB... The second special sword before medium sassy kicks I cannot get up high enough to make the medium kicks combo. Do you delay the sword or something?
Na you right, written notation doesn't match the video demo, you do LM before the second S, not LL. Doing LL gives you extra height and that makes sassy legs almost impossible.
I'm having trouble understanding how to play his neutral game. The 5L and 2L are so different that I don't know how to approach correctly with him. Any ideas?
I am still learning myself a bit :-0 but be judicial with his f+S, its fantastic and instant if the foe is grounded. down+S slaps down homing dash happy foes easily too.
rooflemonger Haven't used 6S as much, I'll start on working with it. He's a lot of fun once you're landing hits, but getting them in the first place is a little hard. I've found dash in 5L to be good at kind of pre-emptively setting up a hit box in front of you, but I don't think it's real. 2L is a good way to get counter hit. 5M seems to be a really good ranged button, but it has to be spaced almost perfectly. I'd hate to have to drop him. He's so much fun, but I wonder if his buttons make him flawed from the start.

All very timing specific, you have to follow the exact order of button presses in the video, no deviation. Make sure its always LL or LM as written in the combo guide, do one instead of the other and it drops.
All it means is starting with a light attack, or using his reverse beat technique where you can start with anything you want, go into down+light, then back into anything else. Rather than the usual light>medium>heavy progression
That's the thing, the reverse beat concept means you start with whatever you want, that's vegito's unique combo structure. There would be like 20 permutations of the combo to write.
Well obviously the first bnb is working? Its right there in the video and I recorded it 2 hours ago. Ki blasts are all about very specific heights for him you have to follow the exact order or it won't work.
That's strange, I struggled with the last ki blast to connect it with medium sassy kicks to super. I did your other combos and it worked splendidly. If that is the case, it is just me then. Thanks for the video nevertheless.
The Narrator I thought the same but Roofle said just for the meter gain he’s better as point or mid. Maybe you just have to use him in a similar gameplan to Cell where your assist are mostly for pressure and not as much for combo extensions.
By the time I get zamasu done tips/combos is probably the day bbtag launches and I gotta do a bb tag blitz of vids! I don't know whose next though its probably someone out of 18/yamcha/krillin/trunks
He also doesn’t work well with most assists, has mediocre assist himself, lack of good projectile game and I think his 5L is actually 7 frames instead the standard 6 frames but that last one I’m not sure. Despite all that he’s still good but not Bardock good.

meter gain never scales unless its after you vanish or something, but the meter gain itself is just way too big.

The 5000 scaled combo also only requires 1 bar no sparking. So youre 1 bar positive after.

This guy can, if you have a SINGLE BAR to start with, consistently take 60-80%, and 30-50% off a SCALER HIT. It's so scary.

0:40 should have dashed here then done L,L,L into sword and pursuit I think that might have been better.
then no way I get second ki sword in combo, and I lose tons of meter gain. Also i think it would do less damage overall.

Roofle, can you possibly do an updated version of this? A lot of his bnbs have changed with the August patch and a lot of this no longer works.

I personally use manually heavy in the air before the sword and it work every time you also have tu do the input really quickly

I’m having a hard time connecting the sassy kick after the sword
Its very timing specific, if you deviated at all in the combo previous in timings or button presses, it straight up will not work.
I was having trouble too but I think I found the problem, here is the written notation:
reverse beat or light starter, jump MLL, S, homing dash, MLL, double jump, LL, S, medium sassy kicks, air super
however the video demo has:
reverse beat or light starter, jump MLL, S, homing dash, MLL, double jump, **LM**, S, medium sassy kicks, air super.
Looks like the autocombo in the notation is giving some extra height causing the S to knock the opponent up too high to land the sassy kicks?

I literally can rarely get sassy kicks to connect on the first BNB any timing trick I should know about
remember after the jump its LM not LL! That said if you have troubles after that do a very slight delay of the LM to the S to get that extra height on the ki sword.

Hey can anyone give me a tip at the end of the vegito combos when he uses spirit sword to lighting kicks after It always drops whenever I do the spirit sword when I try the lighting kicks it whiffs every time the only way I can do them if I do a straight up special which is not enough damage

Make sure you doing LM and not LL. That said if you still have trouble try a very slight delay of the LM into S.
I cannot for the life of me make the double jump > lms > medium kicks > super connect. After the special, it just drops and I have no idea why.
make sure to look at my inputs and make sure you don't deviate from the button presses. Sometimes you want LL in air combo, sometimes its LM, any deviation and the combo won't work.
That first comb looks a little bugged I’ve done it a few time now and when the sword hits them before the kicks it puts them up to high for the kicks to land
I can do that with 100% reliability, its all about height and placement. You cannot deviate from the combo structure at all.
Hm ok On the second part after the super dash I input M,L,L jump L,M
Sword, So maybe I have to delay the input so that I stay on leg height?

Make sure you are following the correct inputs! after double jump its LM not LL.

I've read that Vegito's grounded level 1 super can set up for double supers on DHC or something. Is that character specific or can he enable this with any team? I'm trying A21/Vegito/SSJ Goku
aquila ! I know you can do it with Fused Zamasu after you knock them up and finish with a level 1. Not sure about other characters, though.
For basic BNB... The second special sword before medium sassy kicks I cannot get up high enough to make the medium kicks combo. Do you delay the sword or something?
Nevermind. I had a slight input delay between the medium kick and the sword. Good stuff! He has some tight timing
Na you right, written notation doesn't match the video demo, you do LM before the second S, not LL.
Doing LL gives you extra height and that makes sassy legs almost impossible.

I'm having trouble understanding how to play his neutral game. The 5L and 2L are so different that I don't know how to approach correctly with him. Any ideas?
I am still learning myself a bit :-0 but be judicial with his f+S, its fantastic and instant if the foe is grounded. down+S slaps down homing dash happy foes easily too.
rooflemonger Haven't used 6S as much, I'll start on working with it. He's a lot of fun once you're landing hits, but getting them in the first place is a little hard.
I've found dash in 5L to be good at kind of pre-emptively setting up a hit box in front of you, but I don't think it's real. 2L is a good way to get counter hit. 5M seems to be a really good ranged button, but it has to be spaced almost perfectly.
I'd hate to have to drop him. He's so much fun, but I wonder if his buttons make him flawed from the start.

All very timing specific, you have to follow the exact order of button presses in the video, no deviation. Make sure its always LL or LM as written in the combo guide, do one instead of the other and it drops.

All it means is starting with a light attack, or using his reverse beat technique where you can start with anything you want, go into down+light, then back into anything else. Rather than the usual light>medium>heavy progression

That's the thing, the reverse beat concept means you start with whatever you want, that's vegito's unique combo structure. There would be like 20 permutations of the combo to write.

I tried out the first BNB combo and it is not working, I am assuming the ki blast is bugged.
Well obviously the first bnb is working? Its right there in the video and I recorded it 2 hours ago. Ki blasts are all about very specific heights for him you have to follow the exact order or it won't work.
That's strange, I struggled with the last ki blast to connect it with medium sassy kicks to super. I did your other combos and it worked splendidly. If that is the case, it is just me then. Thanks for the video nevertheless.

I think that if Vegito’s assist was better he would be a contender for best anchor in the game.
Honestly with the bar gain what it is, I am much more fond of him up front or on mid now, just so he can get that meter to pass on.

So he should be the anchor of the team since he's not so good with assists?
The Narrator I thought the same but Roofle said just for the meter gain he’s better as point or mid. Maybe you just have to use him in a similar gameplan to Cell where your assist are mostly for pressure and not as much for combo extensions.

Does Vegito have any weaknesses?
5L with too much recovery if whiff, no low light hard to open up people, any blockstring into 2L can be jump out.
Those seem very minor.
his lvl 1 supers scale really badly
He also doesn’t work well with most assists, has mediocre assist himself, lack of good projectile game and I think his 5L is actually 7 frames instead the standard 6 frames but that last one I’m not sure. Despite all that he’s still good but not Bardock good.
The lack of a low 2L hurts his mixup potential. Much of his pressure isn't air tight so far.
