Excellent video. I saw you put the ecm back in place, but I never did see you connect the battery cables to the battery. I also doubt that most techs check the torque on so many fasteners like you did.
Your right! You were really paying close attention! The battery cables come already attached to the battery and we only need to install the main fuse to power up the bike. I move the ECM to check the wire routing around the battery. Ive done many new bike preps and have seen loose ground connections to wiring pinched between the main and rear frame sections too... probably a hundred different ways things get wacky around the ECM area. But that's what the pre delivery inspection is for, to catch anything that's not right before a customer purchases the bike. Ive been in the habit to torque everything and your right, alot of people don't but once your in the rhythm of doing it its quick and easy. i have a motto I work by, do everything the best you can, then better than that, and then even better than that. And torquing fasteners with the right tool to the right spec falls into that motto. A tech I used to work with once said to me "if the customers paying $100 an hour to work on there bike, give them there moneys worth." So i keep that in mind. U gotta give people there moneys worth. The attention to detail and amazing paint jobs not to mention all the other aspects of the bike is what puts Harley light years ahead of Polaris still... the new challenger example has no two tone options the basic challenger comes in 1.. color only
I agree. A couple years back I was thinking of working at an indian dealership. Once I went and "really" examined there vehicles, theres no comparison. Once your 6 inches away you "really" see the time and work harley puts into making engineering an art. Many pieces are almost scalped, purely for style along with its designed purpose. They sell it in individual “normal brake cleaner can size” as well but I don’t like it as much as the large volume refill jug. There’s just something different in the formulation between the two. When I received my Harley I don’t think they took the time to get the marks off the tires which are still there. What the name of the spray that you used to clean the tires?

Yep and yep. It not uncommon for the rear shocks to be different from left right sides, that's how stock street glide shocks have been for man years.

I have been told its a decal type. They apply it after the color is laid down and right before the layers of clear coat.

The product I use in the vids is from Wurth. It's a alcohol based parts cleaner.
