Why not credit me for pulling that statement from Zero, or the post of mine you're using? I had to call the news station etc to get it. Kind of whack to make a video using my effort and then cut my name out of it.
Sorry, I just put this together real fast before bed, I didn’t mean to cut anything. I’ve added a link to the description of the video and pinned your comment. I've been high on cold meds for days and sleep deprived. Really didn't mean to do anything like that.
@Zero Fun ty. I appreciate it.
I'm excited about you doing a EV bike news show. I would love to get all my information in one place in less than 15 minutes once a month. I've watched T.E.N. for years and they do an excellent job of that for cars, but sadly only touch on bikes occasionally. You could keep us abreast of Quarterly production sales numbers of the BIG 3 - Zero, Live Wire & Energica (or should it be the big 5 and include Lightning & Damon?). I've been following the small bikes like Sondors, Ryvid, Cake and Sur-Ron. I see vids on YT of people riding Maeving RM1, Ultraviolette F77, and Verge TS on factory demo bikes, but can't find owner reviews. Electrek is a good source of news and reviews, but you have to be lucky to catch a good story with them. They were where I first heard about Kawasaki's EV Ninja last year. Maybe you could even give a little coverage to the weird hybrid world like Arcimoto, Electra Meccanica and Aptera. I'd like to think others are craving a good quality EV bike news source like me. I hope you pursue this.
I don't understand how Zero is still going.
If they'd made the effort to solve the isolation issue that constantly blows components and prevents DC fast charge they would be going gang busters by now.
It killed mine.
Zero can just employ a couple of people to watch energica .. or to listen to customers what they will buy . Even if its expensive ...
Ducati is hoping synthetic fuel will save them before they have to commit to changing their whole production. I hope Honda makes an electric Motocompo with swappable batteries!! I would totally throw one of those in the back of the Beat.
Kawasaki could've totally pulled out "The real Green Tourer" out of their pants, but they didn't have the balls.
Right? The original "green motorcycle company", too bad they don't make clean vehicles.
All about holding on to those short term net profits. Just like the auto industry. Energica could be the company that forces them to change, like Tesla did.
You should totally ride up the entire length of Japan on swappable Honda scooter batteries. I'd watch that series also!
What the hell is up with the Japanese manufactures!?! So stupid they aren't creating a fast charging powerful electric bike already! 😤 Thumbs up on the video, bummed it's mostly sad news though :(
There's no profit in it for years, and why would they even try? They can keep making gas bikes profitably, for now.
RIM. Used to wish I could get a RIM job 15+ years ago. Now they're just a failing little consulting group, like your other examples. Yes, I just wanted to say RIM job.
Maybe Zero is ramping down gen 2 S bikes? Possibly more focus on utility and commercial efforts.
Maybe...last I heard, it's the DSR/X's that are piling up at dealerships. The smaller battery bikes (like all the gen 2's are now) are the bulk of Zero's sales.
I don't know. Maybe one of them are being sold at a loss and they're cutting it? Hopefully we find out more this week.
It's laughable. I started out hopeful on electric but have no idea where this is going now.
Zero...is trying. They've been acting odd since they accepted funding from a certain source around 2015. Feels like they aren't going in a steady direction since.
Energica is going to be the new Tesla. That's why I love them, new motor update every 6 months, new lines, no charging for reverse "gears". 2023 will be the year they outsell all other full sized electric motorcycles combined. Hopefully it's a wakeup call to the industry to get moving.
Triumph TE1 anyone?
15kWh pack and no release date. They’ve been quiet about it for many months also. Dunno, I hope they bring at least something to production.
