You don't need to apologize for long videos, I was completely captivated by your answers. In fact, I prefer the long videos.
I'm sure you'll pull everything off. I honestly crave your videos unlike any other. I'm subscribed to people with millions of subscribers, and their content is no where near as satisfying and yours.

Great to see a personal side to the life of a UA-camr. It's not something that comes across too often. Most people try far too hard to commercialize their channel and just push content and branding, but you actually taking the time to make a personal connection with your viewers makes your channel that much better. Keep up the great work!

I'm honestly shocked that you only have 39,000 subscribers. You are the best channel on UA-cam period. Keep up the amazing work Marty and good luck on your journey to moving in on the boat!

Marty, I started following you when you had a few thousand subs about 2 years ago. What caught my attention is what a nice guy you seem like. You are honest in a way that you don't try and portray any type of demeanor. You are obviously yourself and it's just different from all the other channels. I feel like I can connect with you because you are showing your true character and not acting any type of way.
Whatever happens Marty, I'll be watching and sharing your videos because they've made an impact on me. Whatever you do DONT STOP.

Dude! I mean really, Dude!!! I literally stopped by a marina today while scouting out a local lake in NC, and asked some guy walking around about whether he knew if people advertised their houseboats for sale. Skipping the details of that healthy convo, it just strikes me how sometimes the flow of life just Hits you situations like a tap on the shoulder. I had been off handedly saying to a few friends that i had been thinking how cool it would be to live on a boat; then I come home to see your video on the same day. I am watching the whole series and I am waving your flag... Keep it up, Man! I'm not the only one whom could feel how much this means to you (and us). Sending all the positive thoughts I can your way. Make it, Do What It Do, Baby!!!

I watched this video last night and have been thinking about it all day. I got up at 4:00 to go fishing and thought long and hard what it would be like to give up all my belongings and live on a boat. Putting things in storage only costs money and living on a shoestring budget money becomes too critical. At the end of the day , I think given the opportunity, I would choose the boat life. It would be extremely hard to part with certain things but I think it would be worth it in the end. Don't forget you can always come ashore and start over. I have done that three times in my life already and at the age of 50 I realize one thing..... The stuff you own ends up owning you..... Lets not forget, if you never act on your own personal dreams and ambitions, you are likely to end up and middle-age-man with a house full of someone else's accomplishments. Wants and needs, things and stuff.... It consumes us to the point of madness. The chance to break free of that would be worth anything to me. I am very happily married to the best woman in the world and with that comes some fine print. However if I asked her to give it all up and live on a boat, she would be online looking for one.
You have a great spirit and much to share.

"I gotta pinch myself... (and better wash it down with a swig of beer too!)".
Marty, ANY money you manage to get out of your videos is more than earned. It never comes across as being commercially based and lays comes over to me as you just filming "a day in your life", pure and simple. Speaking purely from my point of view, if I had to pay you 10cents for every video of yours I watch, I would be more than happy. If the rest of your 10 million views (so far) were happy to do the same, you could pay to have everything mechanical and electrical on your boat sorted out in a couple of weeks! But then again, it's not fair for me to volunteer the help of others.
Wishing, you, your boat and yaks, not forgetting the hounds too, every success and happiness mate :)

Thank you for sharing Marty. I stumbled across one of your videos one night and loved it so much I sat and watched probably ten more of your vids. Since then I started a channel as I was inspired by you and I also felt I'd like to share my experiences with the general population. I recently had a video hit over ten thousand views, I have new subscribers every day and best of all, I am starting to meet people and make new friends all because I decided to share pieces of my life with the world. This weekend I am fishing with a new friend I met who has the same kayak as me (Eagle Talon) and I have received emails from people telling me that they also started kayak fishing after watching MY videos... MY VIDEOS! I truly get what are are saying and sharing. Although I want for little in my wonderfully blessed life, I am thoroughly enjoying this new adventure and hope it continues to inspire my life and those I share with.
    Your loyal viewer,
    Chris

If you do the Great Loop, I will absolutely require you to stop in Melbourne, but you already knew that, right? The Poor Man's Fishing Kayak placed you into my life and made you such a special person to me and Walter. You gave him so many things to think about, other than his cancer, and he's probably watching every move you make from above. You're such a Thinker. But the decisions about the boat will come in their own time. Relax and don't try to force them. The Universe (or however you call the higher powers) will nudge you down the right path so relax and enjoy today. Love you and thanks for all you do.

Marty, I've watched your videos from early on, I think I subscribed when you were around 1,000. Originally I subscribed because I'm a fisherman, But that has evolved into much more. It's nice to see some one with true humility and wholesomeness. These attributes along with your personality and willingness to share parts of your life with the world will continue to make this channel successful. My guess is, once you get the boat in good sailing condition it will open up a level of freedom, adventure and content that will change your life forever.

Ive been watching your videos for a while now and am not much of a commenter but watching these videos intrigue me. I am a novice kayak fisherman so watching your videos got me even more interested. After my divorce I said I was going to move to the coast and buy a boat I could live on in a marina... unfortunately my real life kept me here in San Antonio but one day I still see that as an option. So as for now I live vicariously through your videos and learn whether or not I could really do it. Thanks for the videos and look forward to more!

I started watching your channel about 4-5 months ago when my girlfriend bought me a fishing kayak for my birthday. I've caught some of my best fish out of it. I've learned so much from you and I absolutely love all your videos. You are an inspiration to alot of people. I live in northern Indiana, been up here 2 and a half yrs not far from Lake Michigan. If you do the great loop I would love to meet you and fish with you. I've watched all your videos and look forward to watching every new one you post. Thanks so much for sharing all these videos. Some many people including myself have learned so much from you. Good luck on your boat. Hope it all goes well.

Stumbled across your "poor man's kayak" video a few years back and it pushed me to go to academy and buy two pelican sit on top 12ft kayaks for me and my brother to fish out of. Sold the kayaks a few months later, I have subbed to your channel on my other account and now this one. You seem to not have noticed that their is a piece of your heart, that has a love for the water and that is what created this channel and created your inspiration to move onto the boat as a liveaboard. I would love to see you take your HOME to go chase some big swordfish or take your kayak out and go free dive for some lobsters or maybe get into spear fishing also! Add some variety! Stay fresh we all support you, brotha! Proud of you, stay humble!

From what I see in you Marty is that you are ok with change with a little getting used to. The problem is loosing some things. Don't ever worry about loosing anything, because remember, more was lost at war than what you have lost in your life.... so told me an old wise man... I say listen to your heart and your first decisions, they are always the correct ones. Enjoy life and do what makes you happy, whatever floats your boat! No decision is a wrong decision, it's only a life lesson learned good or bad and its part of being human. Life isn't easy, but there's always a bright side about everything, even bad days... I say keep moving forward and achieve your goals in life. We support you and thank you for everything you share with us even if we don't know you in person, we like what you share with us.. Also you teach us things and we teach you things and we all communicate and learn from each other somehow. It's pretty coo! Tight lines Marty and cheers! I drank a bud light with you watching this vid lol and I'm a miller guy! But I can make exceptions sometimes lol! Besides, beer is a beer and will always be beer lol great vid Marty! my family and I did some ocean kayaking when we were on vacation in PEI this summer and ever since then I have been watching kayak videos. I found your channel accidentally and the first video I saw was when you capsized after cutting a shark loose. The next one was you floating in a chair under a bridge to catch crabs for bait! I had to subscribe and I haven't been disappointed. I am in Canada not close to the coast but look forward to purchasing my kayak and fishing the rivers. The sheepshead up here are quite different from the salt water species you often catch and are not edible.
It is great that you found your passion. Follow it and bring us a long with you.

I think you have a talent that you underestimate, in that you don't have to edit your videos as much for "takes" because you can do such a large amount of content in a single take. That's awesome, and I think it stems from you being comfortable in your own skin.
I hope this works out, better and better. It was a dream of mine to get a fishing kayak, and now I have one. Now you've moved on to one of my oldest dreams: living on a navigable boat. I'll be watching!

I gotta question for you Marty and you might wanna think for a while before you answer it...
If you decided AGAINST doing the boat life thing, then do you believe that in the future you would likely regret not taking the chance??
I only ask because I am 50, my body has had it and is pretty much shot to bits now. I own my kayak, my fishing gear, my clothes and very little else. But since late 2000, I have always tried to grasp at what my heart has truly desired because there have been a handful of things in the past which I truly regret not taking the chance with. Not because I would have had more "things" by now, but because of the memories - both good and bad ones - which I would now have. Instead, I have a few massive question marks in my history, where I still ask myself, "What if??"
All that being said, no matter which way you decide, it HAS to be purely your choice and not because you have bowed to pressure from anyone / anything else. What's more, I truly believe that no matter which way you finally decide to go in life, you will still have as many if not more people eagerly awaiting your next video and all wishing you the very best with your chosen direction in life too :)

one thing at a time though buddy. Really excited to see where you go with this, definitely wishing you nothing but success and happiness!

When I started watching this channel it was for the red kayak mods. Turns out your a pretty cool guy. I completely understand the joy of "creation". I too delve in many things and I completely 'get' this. I am thinking of retiring in 2 year and my mind goes from cabins, to sea side cottage to even RVs living and like you, Marina life. LOL - I just can't hone it down, yet.
Yeah - so thanks for joining the youtube community and sharing your gifts with the world. Haha and if I learn to actually fish out of it too, then good deal. And I'm glad youre getting to the point whenre you have the opportunity to make a career out of it bc youre right, its all about being happy - and you only have one chance - glad to see you taking it! Peace.

You got this brother, I just moved here to Tampa last year from New Orleans Louisiana and I've been working offshore almost 10 years now. I've been fishing around here a lot too, it's an amazing area. I lived in a boat yard marina for a little over a year before, it takes a certain type of dedication which it appears you have already.

It's a talent (and dedication) few UA-camrs have. I will keep watching as long as you keep producing. It is fun! Thanks

very cool to take the time to tell your fans of your personal life. I hope you don't decide to move on to some other place because of the congestion of traffic and what not. but hey, you gotta do what makes you happy. I think it would be a great idea to have some sort of fundraiser so you can accomplish your dream of taking on the loop. I'm sure allot of your fans including i would help fund that journey. To me it's a journey I'll never take due to other obligations in life. But you can live it for us as you've done in the past. Do it Marty!

I have been a subscriber for a couple of years now and I don't even own a kayak! I have a small boat that I take my family fishing with on the Chesapeake bay. I have learned a lot about fishing from you. After I bought my boat, I needed some fishing gear (takes a lot to take all 5 of my family fishing). I spent most of my money on the boat, but I bought Okuma Avengers based solely on your recommendation that they were a good "bang for the buck". Now I just watch you videos because they are well done, artistic and you are cool. My boys are very into fishing now and they are both subscribers as well. I have to tell them to hush because they will spoil your new episodes before I can watch! Even though we have the boat, you make us consider getting kayaks! LOL Anyhow, just thought I would let you know that we think you are awesome! I think the live aboard "kayak chariot" is a great idea. I also think the "poor mans" theme is very good. There are a lot of us out there who want a fishing adventure, but we can't necessarily spend thousands of dollars.....life is expensive! Small recommendations and ideas for fishing "on the cheap" show your creativeness. I love the new boat as well..it reminds me of my father's Chris Craft and the Tiki lights are awesome...you could sell those....Keep it up Marty!
