- Diana Krall covers Whispering Pines on the Glad Rag Doll Tour at the Greek Theater, Los Angeles, CA Sept 21, 2013. Whispering Pines was written by Richard Manuel and Robbie Robertson of The Band and appears on The Band album Across The Great Divide.
Wonderful rendition of what may be my favorite song by the Band.
Gorgeous. This is such a hard song to pull off and she nailed it BEAUTIFULLY. LOVE her piano treatment too.
We love you Richard. You are at home now.
she sings this with so much emotion and shows how much she herself loves this song God this woman has such talent and makes a song hers when she sings it thank you so much for posting this awesome performance
RIP Richard Manuel.
I think this version honours the original. I'd love to see the other performers. Such a perfect song!
A lovely rendition. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for listening
Great cover of this song.
The song originally appeared on the 1969 album called "The Band". Across The Great Divide was a compilation record..
And my favourite opening track of any album
breathtaking
THE BAND rose like a star!!!!!!! Then soon faded...Clapton said they changed his whole take on music.....
They never faded for me and a lot of other people
Painfully Beautiful - "Love is when you don't have to be with a person to touch their heart". -Tarquato Tasso
THE BEST remake of the original
Agreed, 100%!
Diana does Richard proud here.
This is great. She should definitely record it.
Tough song to sing, great rendition.
Thank you
beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful
I'm just spellbound.
NOT ONE PERSON WILL DESTROY MY SONS DAY
Q lindaaaaa🎙😍
not on across the great divide, but the band...second album after big pink...
IN THIS LAND EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TOO THEIR OPINION
Great song. Always hate it when people put info or talk over the first 30 or so seconds of s song. They think advertising or useless BS is more important than the music.
Very nice, but hard to beat Richard's original version.
Impossible to beat. She is trying, but he owned it. I preferred his more sensitive keyboard, too.
True, but this is the best version after Richard's.
@@dbrooks1904 Check out Jakob Dylan’s version. Like the original, it brings me to tears. I can’t say that about this version.
@@altheatoldme I just did and left a comment for you. Thanks.
is the male accompanist a member of THE BAND!?????
no
Who is singing with her???
Not loving this
Not one of her better covers…
Okay Grandma
You don't know the history of the song
