Many Polaris ATVs are assembled in the United States but use parts made in China. If you think Polaris is some magical company that doesnt use Chinese parts, you are crazy....
I'd say my new can-am is at least 15-20% Chinese....
A lot of the side by sides are shipped from over seas, portion of Polaris utility and sport vehicle market is assembled in Mexico
Almost all cast pieces of any machine are going to be imported in or assembled and imported in. I challenge anyone to find forging stamps and go do some searching and you will find out where these foundries are located. A lot of them reside in Asia as a whole. Plastic molds fit the same bill here, very few will be molded here vs. imported and assembled. I would say eventually he will bring final assembly of these items here vs. shipping full units from China. This argument over American vs non is silly to me, he just needs to keep on his q/a and production line visits and the quality will stay where it needs.
True that! Good point.
Having a US team assembling and overseeing QA helps a lot. Doing all of it there will result in more problems unless you have a whole team there full time. Not 3 dudes.
Otherwise, with transport costs, etc, they’ll play chicken with you and tell you to take it or leave it, or you’ll find 15 versions of your product being sold under random names.
Or all of the above. Lol
I think that it is very common that people mistake bump steer for scrub and vice versa. Scrub is totally different than bump steer, but both are not preferred. Robby has eliminated all bump steer, and has minimalized scrub as much as possible. This car should handle like nothing else out there.
Ya I hope so it has a lot of potential
We will find out soon enough if these cars are as good in the desert as they are on paper. These cars are propper, and anybody who knows anything about desert racing knows this car is gunna be amazing
Yes a lot of potential for sure
The engine was designed in North Carolina, not China
by who? how come it has the older Hisun block?
I think the motor and transmission are going be the thing I want to see how they hold up
Ya our biggest concern for sure
@@desertsxs CF MOTO ENGINES SEEM TO HOLD UP VERY WELL
Speed utv pro R 4cyl swap motor
The door on the RZR and Can Am are suicide so you can close it after getting your harness buckled.
Gotta give props to Robby for putting a lot of thought in his work, Robby uses his experience in trophy truck racing to put these cars together.
Ya I like the strategy he has
@@desertsxs his strategy is pretty spot on to be able to spot the imperfections. Polaris makes good products and believe Robby will put it over the top.
Lot of thought went into the Edsel as well...
Pretty hard to compare a XX rear suspension to the Speed cars other then the arm design. Robby wanted Cat to use double plunging axles but they said no and the shocks Speed have on their cars is significantly greater then what Cat put on the XX.
I liked the long video, I don't need videos that can contain a lot of information to be condensed into a youtube shorts format. There was so much info they didn't compare like steering design, serviceability, clutch cover and clutch design and turbo placement. How many shouldered bolts doesn't the Pro R have and why having shouldered bolts is a benefit. Even down to how the Speed cars require very few different size tools to service or the fact certain parts are designed to be used on either side of the machine. Thats what happens when experienced racers get to control the design of parts because they know the convience and cost savings to a manufacture, race team and individual user interchangeability brings to the bottom line. The Pro R turned heads because it was built beefier then previous sxs from any brand and the Speed cars have stepped that up double or triple fold in comparision to the Pro R.
The engine was designed in house here in the USA by SPEED, NASCAR engineers, INDY CAR engineers and many other highly skilled people. IT IS NOT A CHINESE ENGINE!!! They brutally tested and tested that engine with many modifications since day one. Same with the transaxle, front differential, and clutches! Robby pulled in engineers from many places!! He has MANY friends and companies working with him.
Awesome! Can’t wait to see this thing in action!!
@@UTV-A
You and me both!
Like all other manufacturers, there may be some bumps in the road but SPEED is doing everything they can to make it right.
I truly believe that
In the Speed case, it had to do with passengers being able to get in and out easily from the back seat. If they put all the hinge hardware in front, knees would get smacked.
Okay good to know
The doors are for the speakers going in all directions, stated by Robby.
Thanks
Kinda' hard for it to be versus anything since it's already over 3 years old and not available for delivery, being worth the wait ended about 2 years ago.
Kawasaki krx is oretty dang good with scrub and track width. Best on the “current” market
The doors open like that because there are 2 seat and 4 seat versions. A front hinge door on the rear would need to pivot on a huge angle. So you will be lifting your door up as you open it.
The dude in the middle was correct (sorry missed your name) about the suicide doors.
Way to go Austin. Thanks
@@desertsxs Hey do you guys have an email or anything to contact you?
@@spennycreative6698 desertsxs@gmail
Suicide doors allow me to get my long legs without having to swing door all the way open first in a tight space. I'm still not a fan though.
You are a big dude us short guys don’t have those issues lol
In response to the suicide doors , I believe the suicide doors are wonderful for East Coast. We were right at Hatfields and McCoys trail system. It was very hot. You're allowed to drive on the roads, you can open the suicide door while you're driving down the road and get a wonderful blast of air. It cools you down perfectly, quickly, and effectively blows out the dust. Also, another great reason is enclosed trailers, it makes it possible to actually get out of the machine when you drive in to an enclosed trailer. That's tight. In my trailer I absolutely have to have suicide doors or I can't get in and out of the machine and would be forced to winch it in and out.
Great videos Guys. Did you get to Ride in the Speed Helocopter . You know the one that pulled Robby's car out of The King of Hammers.
Not yet!
The wait is killing me!
I can’t wait
The suicide doors make it so you can still reach the door once your strapped in I think
Yes it will
I feel like speed car is just a glorified wildcat xx. Still I will definitely be looking at getting one in the future after I see how well drivetrains hold up
Who do you think designed the XX...?
would you like to get some free lights ?
Owning a Speed has the potential of being an entirely different experience. Owning a Speed might be like owning a Koenigsegg or a Boyds hotrod. As a Speed owner, you will hobnob with a legend and his race team. It seems like Speed is going to be uncommonly transparent about weak points, fixes and advancements. The tricky part for Speed is going to be able to keep pace with CanAm and Polaris, year after year. Speed needs to dump a bunch of support into some independent race teams, and win some races. All it takes is money.
What motor are in these things? What brand? Etc.
its their own motor, designed by speed. built in the hisun manufacturing facility
The 'Brand' is Speed. The motor was designed by speed with the help of some of the greatest in Nascar engine development.
@@arinvolvo thanks for the reply I appreciate it
Never lost an Ipad off roading including racing multiple baja races and vegas to reno.
Plus they only glitch or lag when there is no internet, not a device issue, it's an infrastructure issue..
the motor is hung from the top and not mounted to the bottom of the cage.
Good to know
Good to know
Whats the point
Kingpin inclination big deal from personal experience on X3 probably worse than bumpsteer. Watch shock therapy live video 4/15/20 wheels and tires Justin explains it pretty good
I’ll
Check it out thanks
Will have to look at that. It was a little over our heads lol!
Think a 3cyl would have been a better option?
Ya agree
Yamaha said hell no
Guarantee it will be coming in a few years…
4cyl
What’s wrong with these speeds that no one will show riding footage more than 30 sec?😢
Has anyone taken delivery of one of these yet ?
When we went to the shop Robby said he planned on riding with his first initial customers. One of them is Nick from Chupacabra, he will have content immediately I’m sure!
I think doors opening” backwards “ is because it’s easier to give more room to get in and out that way.
I disagree. Suicide doors are awkward to use.
@@TheBandit7613 yes they are awkward but it’s an easier way for oem to give room to swing your legs in
Looks just like a wildcat xx
Ya very similar looking for sure
Close, but on steroids. Never loved the rear of my XX, they cleaned all that up and made it a lot more useful
I’ll stick to Polaris , can am. Proven companies. Good luck to speed.
We are idiots 😅😅 awesome ending
We are lol
All 3 of you guys ordered a Speed?
Dallin did chad is looking for a bandit
I’m looking for a Diablo not a Bandit.
Biased
Will Canada get some Speed dealers?
I think we will in the future, he talk about that when he did his presentation some years ago...
Can't have any 'real' dealers without cars being shipped????
Nope wish they opened like a yxz
Agreed
It's not a Chinese motor, it's built in China, but is a Speed UTV engine, designed and built by Speed UTV.
Still built in a Chinese facility, using Chinese raw products, and underskilled labor. Not trying to be a naysayer, just putting out the facts. Hisun is just another generic Chinese company putting out reverse engineered stuff.
@Wooley Swamp Adventures better watch some of his videos before you talk about it, it was engineered in the US by racers and Robby Gordon. I watch the video of the engine lab and was very impressed. Everything comes out flawless, and the robots also do a bunch of it so it's not a unskilled labor issue. If it was easy and cost effective in the US he and half our industry would be here.
Ahhh its a Suzuki 1100 ripoff by speed………
Whom'ever the guy in the middle is, dude you need to read up and learn about suspension design.
SKIDOO SLEDS SCREENS ARE GLITCHY AS HELL...REFUSE TO CONNECT MOST OF THE TIME..DEALER HAS NO FIX
Definitely concerning
@@desertsxs MY 7S POLARIS GAUGE WAS FLAWLESS
It’s my biggest concern….
The speed UTV is basically a wide restyled wildcat XX….that car never set the world on fire but the fan boiz are out hard on Ricky Bobby. Even if he lied to their faces constantly and bait and switched them many times they are still wide eyed fans because at this point what else will they do. Admit they were wrong about things and admit they are upset by the business practices. Human nature is to double down. Stockholm syndrome
Tell me again how Robby / Speed did at the 2023 KOH? 20 years of R&D, 4000 videos and DNF'ed. The proof is in the outcome.
Don't be a dickhead. I'm not a fan-boy I actually own a Pro. That said, Robby Gordan clips more experience off his fingernails each week than you or your keyboard will ever have.
I would take a pro r over the speed car any day. Would not buy a speed car because of the motor and I think they are ugly as hell. Looks like a utility vehicle. Yes they might be strong but Pro r all day.
Ya very excited to see in the dirt what holds up for sure
And a Polaris looks to me like a garden tractor.;
Wait til you see this on the trails, different ball game in terms of handling and performance all day long, more fun and smiles per gallon than any other sxs
@@vrsmark 😁
It will be very interesting to see them side by side on the trail. With that being said I just realized, how can a RS1 be considered a SXS?🤔
Regular doors for me , suicide says it all
I don’t like the pro r doors
Same
Chinese motor , well longevity is out the door and imagine the cost of the machine if motor /assembly was here !! 😳
Ok so I want to support a local idol and as a havasu resident I have to say this as I wrench on crap daily. Chinese built engine or Chinese metals not a good idea. Look at all the others big Chinese cars they have always failed. If Robbie would have kept it is U.S made with US motors or join with other name brand proven design this would have been killer but this is going to fail. And going to end up killing his name
Where can we get American made steels ? Please tell me as a fabricator I would love to get some. But have not found any not even 4130 crom. Even Reynolds gets all their metal from overseas.
You got a point there too. Or even Japanese metals or anything others than chinese
Does anyone else think the speed car is sort of ugly?
Learn about QC and manufacturing in China before you speak of what kind of material did you get..like the Mexico tacos made of dog.
I hate suicide doors
You can open your door and check your tire position with suicide doors
I got news for you flat billers. Your polaris parts are made in china, and minimal assembly done in the U.S.
Most polaris are made in Mexico. MY brand new turbo r 2023 says Hecho en.... swear 2 god
Not that impressed... especially pricey n not that attractive...
Rather have my Can Am Maverick X3.
Good machine for sure!
Two words
