An extremely dumb comment, JLR isn’t that advanced in technology. They are just good looking cars, void of any excitement as they claim it to be. You are just lying to yourself as usual like a typical Indian claiming these things without any facts. If anything at all, TATA failed because of poor Indian management in the automotive sector (check out the workers testimonials on how frustrating it is to work for TATA automotive development, lol especially as a non Marathi person)
naveej you are right. Heritage in engineering used to mean unique knowledge and experience in making things. These days there is very little difference between products made by different companies. Similar materials, similar designs optimized by computers, components and sub-assemblies made by a few suppliers, same manufacturing processes with the same robots, engineering done by people with comparable education and skills (or who were hired from competitors). Honda used to be the synonym for reliability but it is a hit&miss nowadays, Volvo used to stand out in safety but other companies make safe cars too these days. In short-things change.
My opinion Tata won't sell JLR. Reason: they don't have any luxury brand and also a brand that provides them a global presence. I think Tata will convert jaguar to a complete electric vehicle brand.
@@sherlockholmes6171 That is in no way a fair indication of profitability in the years to come. Tata does not have anything close to a competitive competency in Electric Vehicles in-house. Compare that to an s- class, that's half the depreciation. There is no SUV at its price point that even kind of compares to a Range Rover. Range Rovers have very inconsistent reliability reports through it's brand. My dad who was a Range Rover addict had four Range Rovers (all new at the time) and none of them lasted more than five years.
Thats crap. British cars have always been leaders in fuel economy and need I mention the Mini which was a direct reaction to fuel cost rises in '59? As for reliable are we talking 1960s or 2000s? Because these days cars built in the UK like JLR, Mini, Honda, Toyota, Nissan etc are as good as any other brands. At least we don't go cheating on emissions to make them look better than they are.
We've had Jaguars in the household for over ten years, and they've all been very reliable (although I can't speak for the diesel versions). Much more so than the German and French cars that we've owned previously. Here in the U.K., parts and servicing is very reasonable for whatever reason.
Nothing can beat good old Suzuki in terms of reliability, fuel efficiency and ruggedness. One of the main reasons it has been a major success on Indian roads.
Even if they got better when TATA took over as mentioned in this video (don't know if that's actually true) it will take a good long while for that reputation to recover. If I had the money it would go to a Landcruiser, not a Landrover.

Frankly, if you live paycheck to paycheck and don't have more than 1 or 2k to your name, you shouldn't spend even 37K on a car, IMHO. @@sherlockholmes6171 That is in no way a fair indication of profitability in the years to come. Tata does not have anything close to a competitive competency in Electric Vehicles in-house. So, more investment and/or paying for technology licensing. And by 2020? That's between 6 and 18 months away. As an investor, when do you think they will turn a profit. Love my Jaguar XF's. The exclusivity makes it even more special to me.
Love my Jag and would buy another. No issues with my 2017 XE. It’s been a great car. I am looking forward to Jag returning to more of its luxury however. The XE, F-Pace, and XF have interiors that lack luxury. The 2020 models of these vehicles have definitely upped their game with better luxury. If Land Rover has the tech, share it with Jag. Sure Jag isn’t as high volume, but it will never be when it’s left in the past. Sad to see the XJ go, but I’m curious to see the reincarnated version in a couple years. Hoping it’s a Model S fighter!
You shouldn’t be having issues in the first place with any 2017 vehicle. The long term will show how unreliable they really are
Ya Boi CJ To hear everyone talk, I have 32k miles and should have had lots of issues by now....the electronics should have pretty much completely broken down. No issues though.

BMW bought Land Rover in 1994. Ford bought Jaguar in november 1989.

They need to fix the unreliable vehicles.
what models post 2010 are unreliable?
When FORD had Jaguar & Land Rover I would run! HOWEVER since they sold to TATA it was a GAME CHANGER! LOVE my 2012 Jaguar XF V8!! Still driving like new today!👍🏽
Driving like a new jaguar is not a good thing.....that means it’s buggered already.
how Ford makes better motor and trasmission than Tata

#TATA #INDIA 🇮🇳
This is why I love TATA

@MercyReaper so? U have money on trees?
Yes it's all British with label Tata...and All had trouble it seemed
Tata hard times are hurting us, but we can overcome this, so not to worry , we Indians believe and always respect you.
Oh sweet sweet irony! An Indian company buying a British company
Who asked tho?
I live in Russia for last 2 years and in which city I'm living isn't that big but I can see so many land rover cars over there every day. Whenever I hear about JLR sales dropped news,it's impossible to believe.
But you are a indian by name
I love jaguar. Speaking as a previous xkr owner and current ftype owner, they have some really great and fast machines. But they're just priced too high imo
When you see a Land Rover, its either coming from a mechanic or going to one
Ugh.. it's a normal slow down which comes every 8 to 10 years. Stop over reacting.
That's clearly not true. The automotive market is being disrupted by EVs right now. Some carmakers will not make it. It's not at all clear yet who will die. But some will.
PW unsurprisingly, Jaguar and Land Rover build unreliable gas guzzlers.
@@skully720 Exactly. Land Rover could easily be killed by Rivian if LR continues the gas guzzling.
@@pw7225 Seems unlikely, they did declare last year that all cars will be hybridised or full electric from 2020 onwards. Their competitors such as bmw and merc havent made any greater strides than them in that space but do have better funding/infrastructure.
@@aquillelange4128 wtf are you talking about???!! mercedes bmw and almost all german car brands have been producing hybrid cars or full electric cars too for years so stfu moron
I just hope they can keep making that beautiful F-Type with the V8 engine. Would be a shame if Jaguar ends up only making SUVs.
I had a new f type, it was a pile of junk. Rattles, vibrations, poorly fitted body panels, leaking roof, ac failed twice, active exhaust failed, 4 sets of alloys before I got an undamaged set, door rubbers incorrectly fitted (they never could get them to fit), infotainment system failed, steering wheel was not straight, flaws in the leather on the dash and seats, massive panel gaps (jaguar say 10mm is acceptable)
If you build junk like Jaguar does people choose not to buy them the company dies. It's like the HMS Hood vs the Bismarck.
@@BongWeasle I know what panel gaps you're talking about! I've seen two of them in my town and the gaps between the doors and rest of the body along with one that seemed to have a misaligned hood are unacceptable!

They need to focus NOW on off road EV technology, creating a new infrastructure, moving production post Brexit to cheaper India.

They lost out on a major sector with Land Rover, Affordable agricultural vehicles. The Defender and early Discoveries are titans of off-roading, I would choose a Defender over any other off-road vehicle today. They should have pursued the Ineos next generation Defender, affordable, bomb-proof and to be the best off-road. I see a lot of companies still using the Defender as an agricultural vehicle, farmers, telecom's, National Grid, waterworks, Safari's, Army... so on. This is one sector that they should have pursued and they had a very good chance of dominating...
