Gymnasts have a very high BMD - due to dismount impact (4.2 x body weight is the threshold needed). Running does nothing.

Sure our ancestors never restricted protein, but they also couldn't just walk into a supermarket and buy pounds of meat. The amount of protein was naturally restricted by having to hunt, catch and kill it and any hunter will tell you they go home empty handed often. That kill then had to be shared among an average paleo group size ranging from 20-50 mouths to feed. Eating big steaks, hamburger patties, bacon, 6 eggs, dairy, all on a daily basis saying I'm just eating like my ancestors is completely ridiculous.

Maybe, maybe not. Game was a shit ton more plentiful 200 years ago, never mind 100,000 years ago. The reason it'snot plentiful now is that we've wiped out all the plant and animal habitat and replaced it with suburbia, factories, and giant stretches of monocropping.

@ Read the article National Geographic The Evolution Of Diet, it explains how our ancestors probably lived and they never ate anywhere near the amount of meat and fat modern day keto/carnivores eat. It also explains that the modern day Hadza, although they love hunting and meat, still get 70% of their calories from plants and is actually a high fibre diet. This is the way they have always lived. The men often fail to catch anything but the women almost never fail to gather from plant sources. This is the omnivore diet we evolved on.

@@robertbrown6531 this makes the false assumption that modern hunter gatherers are representative of pre-civilization conditions, which is demonstrably untrue. The habitat that modern hunter gatherers is restricted to Is hemmed in by modern human farms and cities, and lacks the biodiversity and lacks the large population numbers. There are numerous archaeological sites that show humans made massive numbers of kills by, for instance, causing massive herds of animals to panic and run off a cliff. They wouldn't do that if all they wanted was one animal.

@ Ah these mythical ancestors that heavy meat eaters fantasize about. That time in our past where everyday was a Texas BBQ and food was plentiful and easy to catch. Dream on mate.
