- Nintendo released a strange trailer that caught everyone off guard with what appears to be a new horror game. Sony announced the next games to go into PlayStation Plus with a couple of PSP classic titles leading the way for Premium.

As far as Nintendo’s actions on emulation go, this is the only solution:
*All types of intellectual property (IP) laws must be fully abolished immediately, in any and all jurisdictions worldwide.* All IP laws are extremely unethical for humankind.

Some games were more. In the 200’s. I was one of the few Neo Geo owners. Only had 3 games. I did a lot of chores as a kid. lol.
Yeah that's like the most expensive video game system I can remember. But it was at least an arcade machine at home

40$ in the 80s is equivalent to 120-90$ depending on the year and 50$ in the 90s would range from 119-80,5$ today.
The issue is not the pricing, it's the fact games release in an incomplete state and they charge extra for DLC that would have been included with the game before.

I think what people really forget is how many iterations of the PSP there actually were lol. I currently own a 1000 and 3000 and as a kid owned a 1000.. every once in a while when I fired it up to play a game, it still amazes me how awesome the PSP was it almost feels like we took it for granted at that time and didn’t realize how amazing of a handheld we had in our hands , because the DS was so popular most people gravitated towards that

Cool to see a new horror game for Nintendo. But I really need Eternal Darkness Remastered
They are quickly going trough all the gamecube games, they will come to eternal darkness eventually
There was a kickstarter for a sequel several years ago. It bombed. Though I think they also didn't have much to show. Most of the assets and footage they showed were from back in early game development from before it was canned, years before the kickstarter. It had all the signs of becoming a trainwreck or hit & run scam.
“Case by case basis” means we didn’t plan for it and we have no idea. 🤷 😂

Daxter on PS5 impressed me. The cut scenes are left at low res, but then the gameplay looks super clean. Haven't played it since highschool, and I'm glad it's available on modern hardware.
The reach Palworld is going to potentially have is not nearly what they expect

This is the closest anyone's ever gotten outside of to being rivals of Pokemon. Besides, they know what drives popularity. Merch.
Not to mention once it hits Playstation and mobile...
The problem is nintendo will more than likely try to sue. A game inspired by pokemon but merch that could potentially take away a significant amount of money from them is another.

I suspect it will be less supernatural, more psychological and grounded probably involving a killer.

It's a japanese game. So you should think about what it translate it in japan. Then it's called laughing men or smilling men.

Would love Valkyria Chronicles 3 on classics. I modded my psp to get the English patch and play that game. Phenomenal story
Dunno why we can't get a worldwide remaster or remake of VC3.. VC is in my top 2 SRPG series along with Fire Emblem.. Although Jeanne Darc is prolly my fav game overall

There is also a 50sec teaser trailer for Double Dragon Revive and visually it's quite polished.
I tought it would be a third party game, but i didn't saw any logo, maybe it's a Capcom partnership like they did for the Resident Evil Revelations that was made for the Nintendo 3DS and now is on every platform

The first thing that came to mind when I saw this was the P.T Silent Hill game.
7:00 Kit and Krysta already said that when a teaser end with the classic Switch logo, then it means that this is a first party game.
By that logic, A lot of those "First Party Games" were contracted out to other studios. Paper Mario, Fire Emblem, even Pokemon, are all made by companies separate from nintendo, but still have the nintendo logo at the end of their trailers

If it comes to "1st Party" horror games by Nintendo, I still dream about the return of Eternal Darkness, whether as a remake/remaster, or a whole new game in the same universe.

That new Double Dragon game looks awesome! What are you talking about lol. Arc usually knocks their fighting games out of the park. The last Double Dragon game was a little too cute if that makes sense. It was still fun don't get me wrong. Happy to see it go in this direction
Not only do you lose competitive pricing, the current pricing standard (which includes retail distribution) would not change. Digital is useful and convenient for the end user but only when coupled with the choice the go physical.
Nintendo has a lot of former Team Silent members working for them so wouldn’t be surprised if Emio is from them
Emio is going to be an allegory for how angry emulation makes Nintendo and its lawyers.
I wonder if once they go all digital they will have a clause stating you don’t own this game, this erasing the legality of emulation, being that you never owned it in the first place.
That already exists. Companies don't see you as owning a game that you buy, only owning a license to play the game, a license that can expire or have its terms changed at any time.
It's odd for Nintendo to release an M rated game but not unheard of. Conker's Bad Fur Day for N64, No More Heroes for Wii and Bayonetta are examples. Well when the enemies in Breath of the Wild were created they clearly got some survival horror people designing it since some of the concepts are horrifying.
Eternal Darkness is also a Nintendo exclusive so they have done an M rated horror game before.
I have a PSP. I think it was technically my dad's but it seems to be mine now. I also hacked it.

It's just like how Disney+ puts their movies into the streaming service. Sometimes it's 3 months, others 6, or longer based on how well it's doing in the theaters. Actually....it's the same with EA Play too.

I forgot how much of an SRPG/DRPG powerhouse the PSP & Vita were. It was a great time to be a JRPG fan. Thats the era that made me learn Japanese to play all of those untranslated games too. Good times.

Double Dragon Gaiden was hella fun! I’m all for new brawlers. Streets of Rage 4 was also awesome.
Honestly, the gamepass stuff doesn't bother me that much. I am subscribed to Ultimate because I love that I can play on legion go, my computer or actual xbox for most games and the saves carry over. And even with a bump to nearly 20 bucks a month I still think it's worth it. If you find one good game you enjoy a month on there you pretty much get your money's worth when even most cheaper games cost more than that. Just my opinion obviously and if they push too much and the monthly fee is suddenly creeping up on 30 bucks I think my opinion would change.
About Emio's name, I'm pretty sure you got the pronunciation right. Because it comes from it's Japanese name 笑み男 (emi otoko, just taking the toko at the end), emi meaning smile and otoko meaning man.
Nearly every Ratchet and Clank game is playable on PS5, we just have Secret Agent Clank left.
Sony getting Summoner and Jeanne d'Arc on Classic fills me with some hope. These are games that time forgot about and with Jeanne is was stuck on the PSP.

Whoa this could be a big shift in Nintendo if this is going to be a new first-party IP from them. And I would probably guess this might be a cross-gen game or maybe even one of the day-one game from the switch successor

Hopefully EU will lead the way for keeping the platform holders at bay with their ridiculous price rises. Others should too, but I'm saying EU since they managed to tame Apple a bit in terms of USB-C and storefronts
I wouldn't be surprised that this "Emio" game could be a way to gauge people's interest, as to whether they can bring back IPs like Eternal Darkness and Geist.
At least, for the former, to "finish the narrative," finding a way to get the key people back to finish the story. Namely, Denis Dyack, Ken McCullough, and Steve Henefin.
A remaster for those 2 games would be a better testy but it's probably safe to say they are already planning or already porting them to the switch

@@VeranaXS - Very true, given the Nintendo brand has become much more well-established. Still, it would require am obscene amount of effort in the social media platforms, as individual creators to get people to buy the games, in hopes for their revival in the foreseeable future.
Eternal Darkness and Geist do work well in the live action movie bit as well, so they could branch off into that, should they desire to gain traction with their more mature games.

talking about the price of games possibly going up to $100 in the far future, here in Australia new full price games are already $110. I get that different countries have conversion rates and the companies have shipping costs to consider when distributing physical games, but i'm scared to see the future where the base version of a game reaches $150 - $160. it's definitely off-putting to see a single game have a price-tag that high attached to it
