36 Days of Type - 2020 - Vector

- For the second year in a row I participated in the 36 Days of Type project. From March 2nd until April 8th designers and illustrators from around the world shared their unique interpretations of our alphabet on Instagram one character a day.
This year I decided to create 4 versions of each character in a logo mark style. I then took my favourite version of each character from Adobe Illustrator and animated it After Effects. This video is the complete compilation of my 36 Days of Type project. Hope you enjoy it!

My toddler son is learning his alphabet and numbers and he is obsessed with this. Music is great too. We watch your video multiple times a day everyday. Appreciate your hard work put into this amazing work of art. 👍

Thanks so much! I built all of the letterforms in Illustrator and then animated in Ae.
@@davewatkinscreative very cool... Do you use Overlord or bring in Vectors from Ai then covert to shape layers in Ae?
I'm really just starting out with Ae so for this I had brought everything in manually and converted to shape layers. I just looked up what Overlord is and wow! That looks like it would have saved me a lot of time on this project. Thanks for the tip!
@@davewatkinscreative I actually learned Ae before Ai but Im trying to use Ai a lot more hence how I found your channel... Im a bit rusty since university... Previously I used Ai mostly to create assets for Ae and Cinema 4D but Ive been trying to get more involved in Vector Art as I was recently asked to design a "geometric style minimalist" tattoo... If you do a lot of Ai to Ae for animation I highly suggest Overlord though...
I was really surprised that the process for importing artwork from Ai into Ae wasn't a lot smoother. Looks like Overlord solves that problem - I'll have to grab a licence. Good luck with the tattoo design! I could picture a minimalist geometric tattoo looking really cool.
