My first lens was the 16mm and I didn’t like the big size and I had to sit about 1-2 feet from the lens to get lots of bokeh, so I bought the 30mm and love it much more for the closer frame, and better bokeh and smaller size. Great video overall!

Tough, can you use the zoom in feature on the 16mm with the sony zv-e10 ( wish it had IBIS ) to technically make the 16mm closer? Based on what you mentioned to do, I’d say you’d benefit by using both. 16mm for the talking head segment (a-roll), then 30mm for the supporting clips (b-roll). As for the microphone, in this video, I used Deity V-Mic D3. Reliable yet inexpensive audio equipment. About the thumbnail, thanks for the inputs! For street and portraits, I’d go for the 30. 16mm is just too wide for my liking 😅 but of course, depends on the look you want. Either way, these are both amazing lens.
If on APS-C body alone, I don’t think the 20mm is a good option due to its price point. But if in case you’d upgrade to FF eventually, I’d pick the 20 over these two.

So I'm going to start filming some art videos I need good low-light lens because I can't work with a lot of light sometimes, and I also want a close up to the details as I paint. I'm a newbie when it comes to camera and lens but I recently purchased the Canon M50 with the kit lens 15-45mm which does terrible in low-light conditions. Hello, Maria. I’m speaking from a Sony user standpoint. I’d say I’d go for the 30mm as it offers more versatility. Like I said, it has the balance of the wide and the not so wide. Low light performance, both are great options.
Im thinking of getting the 16 because I only have a small bedroom to work with and feel like the 30 would be too zoomed in. I use a shotgun mic does the auto focus not get picked up at all? and is there any stabilisation?
I have both lenses and really only use the 16mm for youtube and street. But I should experiment with the 30mm a little more. Also, the sigma 56mm is awesome for portrait shoots ✔

I love my 16mm because the autofocus is little better. I like it because I don't have a big space. I can shoot all my UA-cam videos inside my living room. I have 5 different angles inside my living room space. I can't do all that with 30mm.

I also have this in mind. For portability Sigma 30 is lighter and smaller
I’d go for the 30mm. That gives you a more natural field of view with a little bit of the wide.

That is because the Sigma 16mm is a wide angle lens. It has barrel distortion.
