Michael Emerson is the best. Loved him in Person of Interest. More of a fun show for me than Lost. And currently watching him in Evil. He is the best part of that show, he is honestly the best part of every show he is in.
The thing I liked about Michael Emerson is he's approachable to have normal conversation when I met him at comic con no security he was just walking around like normal guy who just occasionally get asked take a picture. Also this was during premiere of Person of Interest so I don't know if he had a limp or in character either way. That was my first conversation with him and he's cool. This interview was great Kristian asked good personal question and Roxy shot great questions we wanted to know about Lost & how he picks & get in mind of his roles. Roxy & Kristian are great duo on Concersations. Can't wait for the next one. Great conversation, Great job
Wow I LOVE Michael Emerson. PHENOMENAL actor. His best role was Ben on LOST. That was the first time I saw him in anything and I was blown away by his acting. Glad you got him on the show!

I've been a fan of Michael Emerson since LOST. His Emmy winning stint on The Practice should really been seen, but The Practice recently was removed from Hulu. Michael Emerson should be getting the type of roles in movies that used to go to Kevin Spacey.
My wife watched Lost a few years ago, it didn't hit the same way. The build-ups from each season and between seasons just can't be replicated if you binge the whole thing.

Lost was an all time great show with one of the best finales ever. Surprised how many people did not understand that the finale season took place in a purgatory place they had all created for each other to say their goodbyes. Everything that happened previously on the island (and off) was real though. Show wasn’t perfect but the characters were so great. My biggest knock on the show was the smoke monster was not explained properly or how/why Ben was able to control it.
Alien: Romulus is "The Force Awakens" of the Alien franchise. They lifted all of the greatest hits of the Alien films, and recycled them here with a younger cast. Some of the CGI, especially for one of the legacy characters, wasn't great. However, the practical effects and sets were outstanding. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great, either. I was hoping to love this movie, but instead I give it a 3 out of 5.
To be fair when LOST started everyone thought the show was going to last a season and be canceled because of how expensive it was. Abrams was shocked it got picked up because how the pilot was the most expensive in TV history at the time. I'm not defending them entirely but that's always been the issue with TV shows, there is never an end date and you don't know if your show will make it to 5 seasons or 5 episodes when you're creating it. Everyone at the time really thought it would just be a fun trippy show they did for 20 episodes and then move on. Once it became a hit and they were already 13 episodes into filming is when they realized it was now going to run for at least several years.
Not all Raimi fans are just in "Doctor Strange 2 is an untouchable masterpiece" mode. Many of them acknowledge that the script was the worst part of the movie, with how messy it was; Characters like Wanda were written out of character and unnecessary cameos.

Remember Wanda is this universe is abandoned and the only 2 people she ever loved was her brother who was killed, and Vision, who was killed either, and the only other people who looked after her were Tony, Steve, and Nat who are all gone as well. This was a natural descent into madness.
Much as I enjoyed Eternals and would be there day 1 for Eternals 2, I also think their story is one that could continue as a B story in others' films. Whatever Marvel Cosmic project picking up in place of Guardians happens if Rocket & crew don'r return (Nova? Silver Surfer? Annihilators? Starjammers 🤞🏾 ?) could be sent after Sersi and guest star Pip, Eros, Makkari and Druig. Kit as Black Knight could get rolled into Avengers or some other team movie if Blade continues to be in limbo, and the rest could be cameos in Secret Wars (if all aren't).
Man….you don’t know how happy I am right now :) I’m so glad you got to interview Michael Emerson. Ben Linus is still one of my favourite tv character ever created. Michael was so brilliant as Ben…going from being despicable to literally make you cry in the last episodes. It’s crazy how humble and truthful he always seems to be…he genuinely feels like a gentleman. I also like his straightforwardness about being in the big IPs…a lot of actors would automatically say “Yes sure I want to be part of the MCU!” But him…nah…not by default, since it’s all about the writing for him first, not the genre in itself. Props to him for that. He really seems the kind of actor who will always do the best with what he got, not be a diva and then move on. I respect that.
In the comics in the 1970s, the Eternals series by Jack Kirby was abruptly canceled with storylines unresolved, but a few years later, two writers put them in a Thor storyline and resolved their story. I can see them doing that for Thor 5 perhaps....
Eternals is the perfect type of thing that should have been, or could still be turned into a Disney+ show. They could also add some elements of the Eternals into Thor 5 since that movie should be about the Gods and Celestials, and war amongst them.
Yeah, that sucks!!! One of my favorite MCU movies not getting a sequel is a bummer, but at the same time, I'm not surprised. Marvel bit off way more than they could chew once their first few outings cleaned up at the box office, and they started announcing projects left and right... They shot themselves in the foot!!! Not happy about it 😕 but it is what it is.
This episode was edited weird but I had a good time! I'm quite alright with not getting a sequal to Eternals. It wasn't a bad flick but it didn't mesh well with the rest of the MCU.
Re: The call back to the old character from Alien. I think the call back itself was okay, but the cgi rendering was very inconsistent. To me, it looked worst when you first see the character, and that gave me a negative impression immediately. It looked much better in other shots, but that first shot was pretty bad. But I thought it worked fine as a plot device, and the call back itself didn't bother me at all.
I watched Evil... but had to stop in this latest season, because it became to scary and creepy for me... so yes, it very good, but just to creepy for me.... and sleep is important for me, so had to stop watching it.😮😅😉
This is when the MCU train came off the rails. For all the complaints about being formulaic, Marvels attempt to do something different didn’t work. They need to stick to the ‘formula’ and not stray too much. We need good action, a few jokes, connectivity to the larger story but also a good standalone film and just a teaser for the future, not easy but Marvel can do it.
This Eternals 2 news doesn’t really say anything about Marvel officially canceling it. It was never officially announced anyway but Feige hasn’t said they will never do Eternals 2. Dr strange 1 and 2 were 6 years apart

I think that if their plan for Eternals 2 was going to connect to the greater MCU then go for it, but if it was just going to be a standalone sequel then they should hold off and focus on projects that will connect to Doomsday & Secret Wars.
The MCU villain problem really did screw Eternals, I feel. If they had Icarus as the main boss battle for the third act, I think the movie would've played MUCH better. I'm bummer to hear that we aren't getting more.

Idk. I disagree about the originality thing with ALIEN. Prometheus showed what kind of new stories you can tell in that universe It just takes the right inventiveness and willingness of a studio to allow for that change. Just think how different ALIEN is from ALIENS. The genre of film is even super different. One’s a horror and one’s a war picture!

The movie was something new when people didn’t know where the MCU was going post endgame and those characters absolutely could have been given the Thor ragnarok treatment and been totally reinvigorated for audiences. You didn’t like it and that’s fine but to say it shouldn’t have existed, for how visually stunning and its portrayal of speedster powers it’s worth the energy put into it
I’m fine with Eternals not getting a sequel. I thought it was honestly a boring mess. I really only enjoyed Druig and Makari as characters. I like the cast but they were just given a weak film. I’ve only really loved these since Endgame: WandaVision, Falcon&WS, Shang-Chi, Deadpool & Wolverine, No Way Home. I liked MoM at times, I don’t think Raimi was the issue for me as much as Waldron’s script. It was fun seeing Wanda unleash her power but it wasn’t well written (and the usage of her power wasn’t even creative). He disregarded everything Jac Shaffer set up with Wanda in WV.
I dont think marvel or disney could justify to investors that making a sequel to the eternals would be a good investment. Back at the begining fo Phase 4 yes, when every marvel movie made money. However with the 1st Eternals not doing well and a string of flops like Antman 3 and the Marvels, I dont they are in the position to take the same risks as 3 years ago.
I just got back from watching Alien: Romulus in the theater with a nice, respectable crowd, and no annoying children. I love the movie and I'm amazed how good it looks with 80 million budget. Alien: Romulus & The Creator are 2 films that working directors need to see, how you can make a movie with a lower budget, and still look like a 200 million movie.
I'm saddened by this. I absolutely loved Eternals. Basically everthing about it. Not saying it was a perfect film or so. But I loved the characters. I hope we see some of them pop up elsewhere if they fit.

I also like his straightforwardness about being in the big IPs…a lot of actors would automatically say “Yes sure I want to be part of the MCU!” But him…nah…not by default, since it’s all about the writing for him first, not the genre in itself. Props to him for that. He really seems the kind of actor who will always do the best with what he got, not be a diva and then move on. I respect that.

In the comics in the 1970s, the Eternals series by Jack Kirby was abruptly canceled with storylines unresolved, but a few years later, two writers put them in a Thor storyline and resolved their story. I can see them doing that for Thor 5 perhaps....
Michael Emerson was also in the first Saw movie and tv series Person of Interest.

Eternals is the perfect type of thing that should have been, or could still be turned into a Disney+ show. They could also add some elements of the Eternals into Thor 5 since that movie should be about the Gods and Celestials, and war amongst them.

I'm quite alright with not getting a sequal to Eternals. It wasn't a bad flick but it didn't mesh well with the rest of the MCU.
Michael Emerson was great as the voice of Joker in The Dark Knight Returns.
Re: The call back to the old character from Alien. I think the call back itself was okay, but the cgi rendering was very inconsistent. To me, it looked worst when you first see the character, and that gave me a negative impression immediately. It looked much better in other shots, but that first shot was pretty bad. But I thought it worked fine as a plot device, and the call back itself didn't bother me at all.
It’s unfortunate because I enjoyed The Eternals quite a bit.

This is when the MCU train came off the rails. For all the complaints about being formulaic, Marvels attempt to do something different didn’t work. They need to stick to the ‘formula’ and not stray too much. We need good action, a few jokes, connectivity to the larger story but also a good standalone film and just a teaser for the future, not easy but Marvel can do it.
I liked the first hour maybe but then I fell asleep, few months later I watched it at home and it just wasn’t hitting
This Eternals 2 news doesn’t really say anything about Marvel officially canceling it. It was never officially announced anyway but Feige hasn’t said they will never do Eternals 2. Dr strange 1 and 2 were 6 years apart

I think that if their plan for Eternals 2 was going to connect to the greater MCU then go for it, but if it was just going to be a standalone sequel then they should hold off and focus on projects that will connect to Doomsday & Secret Wars.

The MCU villain problem really did screw Eternals, I feel. If they had Icarus as the main boss battle for the third act, I think the movie would've played MUCH better. I'm bummer to hear that we aren't getting more.

The movie was something new when people didn’t know where the MCU was going post endgame and those characters absolutely could have been given the Thor ragnarok treatment and been totally reinvigorated for audiences. You didn’t like it and that’s fine but to say it shouldn’t have existed, for how visually stunning and its portrayal of speedster powers it’s worth the energy put into it

I’m fine with Eternals not getting a sequel. I thought it was honestly a boring mess. I really only enjoyed Druig and Makari as characters. I like the cast but they were just given a weak film.
I’ve only really loved these since Endgame: WandaVision, Falcon&WS, Shang-Chi, Deadpool & Wolverine, No Way Home. I liked MoM at times, I don’t think Raimi was the issue for me as much as Waldron’s script. It was fun seeing Wanda unleash her power but it wasn’t well written (and the usage of her power wasn’t even creative). He disregarded everything Jac Shaffer set up with Wanda in WV.

I dont think marvel or disney could justify to investors that making a sequel to the eternals would be a good investment. Back at the begining fo Phase 4 yes, when every marvel movie made money.
However with the 1st Eternals not doing well and a string of flops like Antman 3 and the Marvels, I dont they are in the position to take the same risks as 3 years ago.
I agree I think they don't want to risk alienating investors and fans by taking risks..

I just got back from watching Alien: Romulus in the theater with a nice, respectable crowd, and no annoying children. I love the movie and I'm amazed how good it looks with 80 million budget. Alien: Romulus & The Creator are 2 films that working directors need to see, how you can make a movie with a lower budget, and still look like a 200 million movie.
Person of Interest was a good show. Even though they killed off Taraji
This is completely random but I'm actually kind of friends with the actress who played Sprite from the Eternals lol.
I'm saddened by this. I absolutely loved Eternals. Basically everthing about it. Not saying it was a perfect film or so. But I loved the characters. I hope we see some of them pop up elsewhere if they fit.
