Owned that exact model for about 3 years now and love it paired with my Ursa Mini G2. I record full res raw to my Ursa and ProRes backups to the Video Assist.

Hi, Great video ! I purchased one of these 2 weeks ago, I’m having an issue with playback quality, it all looks heavily compressed, I’ve tried all the other codec quality options but makes little difference. I’m using a 32gb sd card and see the running time change according to quality setting, is there something I’m missing or could this be a faulty unit ?
Are you able to make a video regarding the video assist/Z Cam match up?
So this passes through the USB-C data from the camera, through the video assist monitor, into your SSD with no issues?

Hello, I wanted to ask a technical question, perhaps it's a silly one, but not being a professional in the field, I need to know if the 7-inch 12G HDR video monitor can be used with the Komodo X?
I have several old 90s sd broadcast cameras. Can this monitor take an standard definition sdi signal and record it full hd? Or i have to upscale it in post?
If my aspect ratio on my camera is set to 16:9 aspect ratio, will the monitor allow my aspect ratio to be that as well?
Do you know if it will allow DCI 4096 x 2160 @ 50p SDI?

It doesn't recod BRAW from Blackmagic cameras? What? Okay, I know it's a bit redundant for sure because you can record that internally with those but still kinda perplexing.

Hi! my blackmagic touch screen die, so i can t change setup or use bluetoth in my camera, can I acces to menu and camera settings with this screen, or need to be synked via BT first? i cant get that option XD
great video.. but i do have a question? whats the diffrence between 12g and 3g? If im strictly using it as a monitor does it even matter to me?
The 3g monitor cannot record RAW. Learned that the hard way after ordering! Managed to exchange for the 12g but yeah that’s the big difference as I see it. I believe there’s also some difference in the SDI ports but if you’re primarily connecting it via HDMI you shouldn’t have to worry about that. Functionally as just a monitor they’re virtually the same as far as I could tell having briefly used both.
Prices of all video assists were dropped $200. 😊
Have you used it to control a micro g2 yet?
I heard the the brightness of the monitor is ruined outside by the glossyness of the glass. Can you please confirm or deny this?
Can the BMD Video Assist 7" output both HDMI and SDI simultaneously, no matter which Input is used..?
8:49 Doesn't the video assist have cross-conversion built-in? I don't think you need an SDI-HDMI micro-converter.
This is what I was wondering. If I can go out of my camera hdmi into video assist, then out the video assist sdi into my video switcher...

Heyyyy just got this monitor. The focus peaking isn't working. Zebra, false colour & everything else is fine. I'm using a Z6. Any help would be appreciated

@@AdrianoEdits yes but be careful to not power the camera through the same circuit too. It’s more advised to just use batteries.
@@adamdrakestudio batteries are heavy and bulky, specially if you have 2. I think if you always power first the gear and then connect hdmi and open camera it’s not likely to happen
