I don't know if I learned a ton about how to actually tighten the line, I might have learned a little, but this definitely was entertaining. Thank you!
Tall trees, Zipline cables and ladders make for a perfect thunderstorm combination. 🤣😂 Your dedication to finishing this video in one take is to be commended. 🤣
🤣🤣🤣 I get that comment in real life but that might be the first time on UA-cam. It doesn’t help that I live outside of his hometown of Bangor Maine. 🤦♂️
Thank you. I got a zjpline for our kids for Christmas, and my middle son is chomping at the bit to get it up, but my husband doesn't have the time for it, so it's up to me. I think these and some other ideas will sertainly help, especially the one about the hane. Many thanks!!
Wait, am I missing a step? When you pull the line around the tree the first time it just seems to stay in place, then you start tightening. How do you get it to do that?
The line rides on the screw heads coming out of the tree protectors to keep it from slipping down the tree. Then pull as hard as you can on the end of the line and place a temporary clamp where it meets the other side. Then put the next clamp loosely just inside of that one and slide it as far as you can towards the tree before tightening it down. Then loosen the first clamp and slide that in too. I hope that helps.
We used our car. After unsuccessfully being able to pull our 130 ft cable tight with two grown men straining, my son suggested we use our vehicle. And after a few minutes of deliberation on what that might do to the yard, I ended up agreeing. We attached the end cable to the front tow hitch of our Expedition and backed up slowly until the line was taut. If you can't use your car, see if you can rent an ATV or even a decent golf cart. Anything heavy enough to hold the line in place and strong enough to pull it back should work great.
We’ll that’s one way to get it done. 🤣 I could see it getting harder to pull it once you get into the longer lines. Mine have all been under 100’. Just be careful about getting it too tight as a little bit of slack helps the last bit of the line be uphill once your weight is on it and helps slow you down at the end. Happy ziplining!
i ended up buying a zipline puller tool from amazon. i figured, if i'm gonna spend over $100 for the zipline, surely i can afford the $18 tightener from amazon to help me keep my sanity lol. but if you're short $18, then these tips are great.
Great question. It still does a good job as far as showing the unboxing and most of the install process. So I opted to leave it but added end cards, pinned comments etc. pointing people to this video to fill in that one blank.
@@FunsizedAdventures Not a thought about your viewers/customers. Why don't you scrap the lousy, complete, and misleading one, and post one that needs no apologies?
I disagree with the premise that the old video is bad or misleading. It was a solid 6 minute unboxing, review and installation overview video. I could easily make an in depth video covering every little detail of backyard zipline installation but it would be 45 minutes long and no one would watch it. Instead I have half a dozen or so 5-6 minute videos that go into detail about specific aspects of it that are easier for the viewer to digest and easier for them to find if they are searching for the answer to a specific problem.
Do you need any more help with your zipline? Let me know and I’ll see what I can do to help.

That incoming storm definitely raised the stakes! 🤣

Ahh, the lightning never got close. 🤣
I’m gonna install one just like that for my kids .. Keep having fun with your kid … Allah bless your heart!
Thank you, Mr King, I am a huge fan of your books and this video also helped me understand my new zip line a little better!

This saved me SO MUCH time...thank you!
You’re welcome! I’m glad I was able to help. Happy ziplining!

It made it more exciting, that’s for sure!

If you said it, it must be true. 🤣

Ratchet straps. 🤯

That’ll do it too! I just happen to be a giant cheapskate. 🤣
Get inside! Live to zip line another day!! 🌧🌧⛈
Rule #1: don’t play with metal wires above your head during a thunderstorm. 🤣
@@FunsizedAdventures That wasn’t even crossing my mind when I watched 😬

How can we make it -100?

Use ratchet straps to get it tight . It locks in place so you can release it to free your hands to connect your hardware.
I’ve thought about using ratchet straps but I could never figure out what to connect it to. How did you get it to work?
@@FunsizedAdventures just wrap it around and hook it on to itself.
*oh wow, that storm soon rolled in. Added some real doom to this project*
Really helped raise the stakes of the video.
That was a crazy thunderstorm but it didn’t last that long though
It never got close enough to see lightning either.
*that second comment made me laugh....pretty upset they were*
I didn’t take it personal. With a name like “Barf” they probably got picked on as a kid and we’re just taking it out on me.
So why don't you scrap your bad video?

Okay, then why don't you label them "Part 1, Part 2, ...."?
Or start with part 4 exactly like Star Wars…
