My name is Jay Swanson - I'm an American writer living in Paris on an artist visa. Paris (yes the one in France) has been my home for years now and I have every intention of staying here for as long as they'll have me. I write science-fiction and fantasy, vlogged daily for 3+ years, and love pizza a little too much. Now I make videos about visiting Paris, traveling in Europe, and try to share what I've learned along the way. I hope you enjoyed what you found.

You are the most open and genuine, emotionally- and spiritually-mature man I have ever come across.
You are a blessing to us, Jay. Thank you for sharing your true self with us.
Jay! The drone shot of you parking the car, talking about driving/renting and then the shot FLYS AWAY!
Phenomenal!!
3:50 The videography game is strong here
I love how this video felt like ‘Made of Honour’ meets ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’.
I have been married for 37 years and always enjoy attending or occasionally watching weddings on UA-cam. The bride and groom in this video appear to be happy, wonderful people whom I hope have a great life together. I know that Jay will eventually find the right person to share his life with...
What a spectacular location for a wedding!! Your photos were beautiful, and we can tell that you really were enjoying yourself. (calm, calm, calm).
Archaic spelling of Unknown? 🤣 🤣 🤣
when I visit my mom in London from the US, the first thing I do when I take her car is that I hit my right hand on the door while looking for the manual shifter.
The Scots do know how to throw a wedding! The couple looks lovely and so happy.
What's weird is that I first saw her on a video that she did about Boise, Idaho when I was going to move there back in 2019. Then I saw her with a Mercy Ships cup at a local coffee shop and wondered "does she know Jay?" And here we are.
When the Universe orchestrates these coincidences, it is always so much fun!,
The Scots DO know how to throw a party. Happy to see you enjoy yourself there!
One channel is a guide to Paris, and the other is a more general guide, a broader appreciation of life. Both are doing quite well. ,,,and very nicely presented, by the way.
Thanks for that!
So thrilled to see a few clips from Carys' wedding!! Thanks for including them.
Jay, some of your videos just warm the cockles of my heart. So lovely!! Congratulations and many years of Joy to the newlyweds!
I like weddings. A note… Always rent a nice bigger car. When you/we buy one , we are limited by $$, So splurge. (Same applies to concerts). Buy the best Seat possible. 🌴Aloha
Aye Laddie - great words and insight amongst what looked like a spectacular wedding in one of the most BEAUTIFUL countries on earth … ahh the Scots truly know how to PARTY!
0:50 This is why I want to advocate for affordable public transport. I hate having to deal with cars and driving.
Thirty quid extra for an upgrade to a Merc? Too damned right- be rude not to! I agree, driving on the other side of the road is a bit mind blowing at first but I get used to it. I quite like driving on the right. That wedding and venue looked amazing!
you speak very well of your pals and i hope they appreciate it!
Can I agree with you that, as someone who learnt to drive in Britain
but live now in Germany,
the hardest places to drive are car-parks
and exactly because you have no references to help you.
On the road and on the Autobahn is relatively straight-forward
but car parks are a nightmare as I have to use instinct
and even though I have lived in Germany for 17 years
my instincts are distinctly still at a base level British
so I yield to the left when I encounter a car but they yield to the right
which isn't a good recipe.
My favourite freak out moment - for a Finnish passenger was
when I came to a roundabout in Finland and indicated left
which is standard UK driving rules telling the people behind that you will take the third exit.
My friend got very worried that I was going to go the wrong way round the roundabout LOL.
My tip for making it easier is
in Britain get a vehicle with the steering wheel on the correct side for that country
as driving with the "wrong-hand" drive is much harder.
so much fun. i went to a wedding in the scottish highlands a few years ago - an absolutely mystical setting!
7:33 Always so dapper in suits. My mind starts getting overwhelmed at the thought of wearing formal wear.
It takes getting used to if you weren't raised in it
@@JaySwanson I went to school in formal clothes for many years. Maybe it’s that
Awesome video. The videography was fantastic, and Scotland is so beautiful. That wedding looked amazing. I found the topic spot on. We do need to put ourselves on those situations sometimes to force ourselves to grow. Thanks for the reminder!
You are so right - just get out of the parking lot and you will be fine.
The Dune reference --- yes!
We love Scotland, home of the Butter Chicken.
Congratulations to the lovely couple!
Such a cool outro shot!
May thy blade chip and shatter. Lol.
Dude! You are in my hometown!
I love everything about this video! You are a master, Jay.
Glad you enjoyed it!
absolutely loved this episode jay 🙏🏽😌
Thank you!
Toddler Tunnel Vision? PIAGET COULD NEVER
😆
Looking great Jay.
Thanks 👍
Jay, what is that beautiful town at 3:48 ?
💛
You mean, "the right side of the road" ... it's the rest of the world that has got it wrong! BTW, manual is better than automatic too! :)
jay is now a multimillionare
Someday maybe 😆 Here's hoping!
Really lovely vlog. I watched it three times. The kiss when he pulled her in extra tight. Sigh. And your commentary, especially your “toast” to your good friend and her partner were wonderfully poignant and heartfelt. Love!!
Jay, everything you are saying is from the Bible, the WORD of GOD🎉😊
Not the wrong, its the other 😂
♥️💐🍀♥️💐🍀♥️💐🍀
I would say really know the person you're getting married to, because people's nasty side comes out once they're married and they know that they can take you for at least 50% of everything, use law enforcement and the court system against you etc...don't be dumb, get a prenup or post nup.
Everyone has differing opinions on this and each couple needs to decide what's right for them :)
