Another quality video Jon. Great work! The audio tracks you use in your videos capture the spirit and essence of the bikes and the surroundings very well. I wish there was an AutoTrader radio channel playing the audio tracks from all your videoa. I would listen to it all day!
Although the subject matter is very much of interest to me right now, all that aside this was a fantastic review, thank you for posting, really enjoyed it!
Fantastic review. And well dressed :-) This is my next bike. Just got my Ducati 821 stolen two weeks ago, and I want to go back to something confortable, looking old but good. After an Italian, an English lady.
Great wee mention of the removable rear cowel item there! Couldn't find this on their website and it's now moved the thruxton above Bonnie in my plans...
Thanks CallumGMedia, loving the Z by the way! The guys recently reviewed the Nismo version: www.autotrader.co.uk/content/nissan-370-z-review-coupe-2013
My Black 2014 thruxton with a lot of weight saving part removal and performance and suspension parts, PC5, and tuning is up to 70 HP rear wheel and 55-60 mpg. It is not as fast as my modified Suzuki Hayabusa, but a great classic ride in town and shorter highway trips. The bike gets a 1/4 fairing and a Cyclops LED headlight soon.
Nice review. I have 2011 really enjoy it yes the ignition is in a wonky location but I got over it. And I have modded it up. It's fun and surprisingly comfortable. It get lots of lookers asking how old it is yes its fun.
Once again great review Jon! Would've just loved it to go on a bit at the end showing people's custom jobs and upgrades. The agony of choice. Bonneville, Thruxton or Scrambler.....
Only for the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, Jordon Flexer . Lots of money was raised for charity but I assure you normal service (including Lewis Leathers jacket) has now resumed!
I loved this review,it was so fun to enjoy as well as helpful. I drive a Honda ST 1300, but am getting older and thinking of something lighter, and i like the way the Thruxton looks but i was thinking i wanted something more modern. I would really like something like a modern Nighthawk or Honda 750 four, but what is there? the Honda 650F, no,, the what? This review makes me think, maybe i should go ride that Thruxton? also i would interested in suggestions for bike with enough power, lighter and easier to handle and not a racer, not a cruiser, but more standard perhaps a little forward
+kostas argianas Thruxton seat height is slightly taller at 820mm (compared to the Bonnie's 775mm), so you may find the Thruxton more comfortable. That said, remember the new, liquid cooled Bonneville and Thruxton are about to be released! We'll produce a review as soon as we can get hold of the keys!
Damn! Shame the garage is already full...Maybe I could build a second. ;o) What is that in your pocket at 3:05 mate!? Or are you just really happy with the ride? Haha.
Hi Jon, hey guys, Song titles please ! wonderful video, and great soundtrack as well. PS : I hope one day triumph will get to Algeria. For now we have Harley davidson, Honda, Yamaha, Guzzi and Piaggio, but no triumph ! No Triumph :(
+Fabio Pallini The Harley 48 only has a 2.1 gallon fuel tank (very small for a bike with an engine that size, around-town distance only), and has a seat height of 28" versus the Thruxton's 32". If you're a smaller guy that's not going to take the bike on long trips, the harley's the way to go.
I was all set to raid the piggy bank for one of these having owned 27 Triumphs since the 70's. What broke my heart however, was that horrible 90 degree offset crank; IT ISN'T A TRUE PARALLEL TWIN and I hate that noise. It was an Australian racer in the sixties who took a six bolt crank from a pre-unit Triumph and offset it hence the reason the NEW triumph factory adopted the idea but I'm not buying a new Triumph until they get rid of it.
Triumphs were once upon a time the darling motorcycle of the working class British men who cleaned they're bikes with Coca-Cola and an old pair of Y fronts/ underwear. These men talked about they're bikes like they were talking about they're wives, using phrases like ' ah she's a beauty " or " she's losing a bit of oil " Sadly those days are gone and the young James Dean looking lad with a fag hanging out of he's mouth has been replaced by the yuppie looking bloke in the video above. Triumph needs to Get Back to it's working class roots and so does this entire esthetic world we live in today. Build bikes working class people can afford, you'll sell more ask Royal Enfield. Wake up Triumph, we want bikes built in England 🇬🇧
Hi Gamertoons22, Usually we'd be able to find out the track name for you but unfortunately we don't have the track listing for this video. We will keep trying to find out for you but it may not be any time soon.
Is this bike nice to ride on the motorway? I've only had supersport and the power was the only thing that made it fun, but I hear this might have it's work cutout where power is concerned...
@@nuruzzaman4893 you can definitely ride on motorway though it's not fun. It is definitely more of a Sunday rider. I have recently purchased a Thrux R which has the Ohlins and awesome Pirelli Diablo tyres. That combined with the 1200 cc engine is truly what the Thruxton needed.
@@anthonyjaswinski5732 Thanks for the reply. Its making think whether or not to buy. The 900 also has really small thin tyres, which look more suited to 125s.
It is definitely not a confidence-inspiring bike on a freeway, but I personally believe bikes weren't built for motorways, only fat Harleys. That said, the Thrux R truly is, as is Street Triple series. One comment I received was, "try upgrading your suspension and tyres." That is a good point, but one should not have to spent 10k on a bike and be ready to spend 2300 more for something that should deliver off the floor. I do love that highland racing green of the 855 Thrux. Mine was black and was a perfect bike in NYC
Mister James I am a liar! My apologies James, it must have been all those racing fumes I was breathing in on the DGR! I wish it had 87hp, but in fact the Thruxton actually develops 68bhp from the factory, 1bhp more than the Bonneville (67bhp) and 10bhp more than the Scrambler (58bhp). The way that power is delivered, however, differs between all the bikes so it's well worth test riding them all to see which version suits you best. I hope that clears things up. Best, J
Hey Prakash Deka , tune in on Friday 13 March, 2015 for the review of the RE Continental GT. You can read about here for now: www.autotrader.co.uk/EDITORIAL/BIKES/REVIEWS/2013_Royal_Enfield_Continental_GT_review.html
This suit and shoes were worn especially for the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride which was in aid of prostrate cancer. So no not the usual sensible motorcycle gear.
Nobody in India wear a suite and drive a motorcycle. Most of the people in India doesn't wear any suite with the desert like temperature in the summer.
how did we ever manage to survive without ABS for all that time - NEWS FLASH - you can ride a motorcycle without "rider aids" and a phone holder - that's kinda the point of a Thuxton 900!
+yumpladukfoo I don't agree with his comment, but your comment of the 883 being "a total piece of shit with some of the worst QC issues I've ever seen in a production motorcycle" is EXTREMELY Ignorant.
I wanted this video to go on for another 15 minutes. Thank you Jon Quirk
This could be a fragrance Advert ! so much Elegance.. the streets, the outfit, and of course the sweet Thruxton !
lovely bike the Thruxton - looks great in green

Great video! I love your presentation, please make the videos longer!
Another excellent review Jon. What a beautiful Triumph too.
Can't wait for the Thruxton R to arrive! such a beautiful thing

I think it's 68 hp instead of 86..., if it was 86 I would have bought it already...
You're spot on, Thomas Herman - I'm blaming the racing fuel for my misquote!
Nice review. I have 2011 really enjoy it yes the ignition is in a wonky location but I got over it.

The agony of choice. Bonneville, Thruxton or Scrambler.....
He got the digits the wrong way round. These 900's make 68bhp not 86.
Clumsily located ignition ? That's the coolest place to put it
I want this bike so bad.
It's like you get this thing in your jaw and it makes you need it.
A mod on a rocker bike?!?!?!?!
I love my Thruxton!
Only for the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, Jordon Flexer . Lots of money was raised for charity but I assure you normal service (including Lewis Leathers jacket) has now resumed!
I loved the video, and the bike is fantastic. Greetings from Mexico

I got a t100. On paper, it's pretty heavy, but I like the riding position and I feel it has plenty of power.
john truxton is good for height 6'1" or better go on bonneville t100 ? plz tell me

Love all your reviews, just wanted to know have you reviewed the Triumph Daytona 675R.
ive done 122mph on mine in Germany. i have an 09...with an Arrow 2-1.
zariya ahmad 122?! Mine tops out around 111... also running the Arrow exhaust, 2-2
Yeah "barely" do the ton is a bit of an understatement... My 790 Bonnie does 110, and apparently these Thruxtons are tuned up from that
Hey Jon, think fast: Thruxton or Harley 48?
Harley 48!
Jon Quirk Nice, man! Thanks!
Jon Quirk

HI Derbal, We would usually be able to tell you the track listing but unfortunately we don't have the track listing for this video. Apologies!
Triumph Thruxton or Harley 48? Great video :D
+Fabio Pallini Harley 48. It's American and has 1200cc versus the 865.
I'd say go with which one fits your style more.

Proper blokes on a Thruxton moto holiday! Spiffy.

Triumph Truxton R review PLZ
Is it reliable?
is it good for short people (168-171cm)???
Did he say fly screen ?
Pretty good review
Still great from 2021 👌
Who's the name of the song in 2:20?
Hi Gamertoons22, Usually we'd be able to find out the track name for you but unfortunately we don't have the track listing for this video. We will keep trying to find out for you but it may not be any time soon.
No problem, Thanks! and good videos
Had one. Beautiful but too squirelly
Should have upgrade the tires and suspension. Not that much money and is a DREAM now!

Wanderfull bike...
2014, fuel injected 🤔, look like Carburetters to me 🤷♀️; don’t believe it makes 86 up either. Nice looking bike though.
Just listed my Tri Thrux on Autotrader! In London. 6k miles. £5799. Call me to see
awsm !!!
A suit and shoes, not really good gear for riding a triumph.
This suit and shoes were worn especially for the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride which was in aid of prostrate cancer. So no not the usual sensible motorcycle gear.
Nobody in India wear a suite and drive a motorcycle. Most of the people in India doesn't wear any suite with the desert like temperature in the summer.
nope. that's a nope for me.
When you fall wearing that suit it’s going to be very ugly mate.
T
Nah
This bike is so heavy 'n' don't have abs; a dangerous bike.
how did we ever manage to survive without ABS for all that time - NEWS FLASH - you can ride a motorcycle without "rider aids" and a phone holder - that's kinda the point of a Thuxton 900!
...spend a fortune to look like a bum.
Slow, underpowered, heavy piece of garbage! I love my Harley Davidson
+yumpladukfoo I don't agree with his comment, but your comment of the 883 being "a total piece of shit with some of the worst QC issues I've ever seen in a production motorcycle" is EXTREMELY Ignorant.
Slow, heavy and under powered seems to be a slightly ironic insult from a Harley owner!
