The only real problem is that the music selection is laughably tiny. In 2+ years when they have 100+ games on there it'll be worth something. Until then there's no reason to not use youtube.
@afedfbawdrs A lot of Nintendo games have had official soundtrack releases on CD. Do you buy them? I'm going to guess not, so the problem isn't that you're not owning the music. You just want it for free. Maybe I'm wrong, but many people make arguments like you do and they don't really support the physical media that they say they want. I can understand that someone wants it for free since atm the app is definitely not worth getting a subscription for. For now it's just a bonus for existing subscribers. Further down the line though, when they have like 100+ games on there, it could be worth it if you really like Nintendo's music. I mean, 2-3 months of a Spotify subscription costs as much as a full year of the basic NSO plan, even less if you share a family plan. If you really want the music you can just record it from the app anyway.
@@amadeus.7436 There shouldn't be CDs, they should just let their fans upload music on youtube for free if they can't be bothered to do it themselves (actually letting you buy the whole soundtrack online and keep it permanently drm-free). You don't see indie developers arrogantly going after reuploads of their game's music. Yet nintendo gets a free pass. I don't care about physical media when it no longer exists. A large majority of cartridges and discs are glorified activation keys for an online downloaded version. They also miss all the updates so by the switch 3 era your switch 1 games won't get those updates anymore so new switch games will be screwed. Nintendo will drip feed music just like with virtual console and nso. And fanboys will soy out.
People are stupid. I've been hearing a lot of fans talk about how they've been asking for this for years. I guess it's slightly more convenient than listening on youtube and it has some cool features. I will be forgetting about it very soon though
A lot of people are stupid and gullible. Nintendo really thinks they're gonna beat the pirates and emulators lol. Ryujinx got a new update recently lmao
it took nintendo this long to get a thing like this done, but more incconvienent when youtube has been a thing for YEARS before it. I have personally boycotted nintendo by t he first news of ryujinx attack. that's when I had enough, no more consoles, no more games, no more nintendo from me. imagine a company being so bad that you dont even want to pirate them because whats it gonna be, another new mario bros? another open world zelda? another mario maker? an alarm clock? a music app that way too late to the market while screwing over customers with nintendo online? no more backup saves? and even as backup saves are a feature for online, its only SOME games, remember guys the Wii U? the console where you could LITERALLY save your saves to a USB device? to be honest I dont really like gaming anymore, I hate sony, I hate microsoft, I hate windows, I hate apple, I hate activision, blizzard, ubisoft, EA, rockstar, about everything, but I hate Nintendo the most. ONLY indie gaming still has a spot for enjoyment, you get a passion project game, the quality is INSANELY good most of the time, and the games are freaking affordable... until big companies buy them out and ruin them. whatever, you do what you want, if you want to support companies like ubisoft and support NFT's or buy the deluxe editions of the game to play them on release date, or if you want to give into loot boxes from EA, or love blizzard's diablo immortal and their shady monetizations, by all means go ahead, giving them money will only ensure more games like that come out.
Idk man, I don’t think this app is THAT bad. It isn’t perfect, but it is still convenient, cheap, and a great step in the right direction that will continuously improve for decades to come. Also, this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but Nintendo has the right to take down reuploads of their music and I fully support them for doing so. I would rather live in a world with overbearing copyright security than a world where nobody has control over their creative work. (That said, I won’t be TOTALLY onboard this app until they credit their musicians. THAT is fucked up.)
I'd rather listen to High Quality Rips
Nintendo: _We really understand our fans and the internet._
Meanwhile many people have already ripped and uploaded the music on here decades before Spotify Nintendo edition came out.
The only real problem is that the music selection is laughably tiny. In 2+ years when they have 100+ games on there it'll be worth something. Until then there's no reason to not use youtube.
The other real problem is that it's a subscription, you will own nothing and you will be happy or else say the billionaires.

That's what I was thinking. He just needs to read the comments to confirm how stupid the fans are
A lot of people are stupid and gullible. Nintendo really thinks they're gonna beat the pirates and emulators lol. Ryujinx got a new update recently lmao
they'll never give us the insane restorations fans have put together, despite HAVING said original recording of most of these tracks
I almost thought they were gonna add their whole soundtrack catalog to UA-cam Music.. I was wrong.
can't wait for 90% of my youtube playlists to be empty
Oh no worries! It'll be the only way to listen to nintendo music soon! Just watch the DMCA's roll in!
I'm stupid, but I'm happy. Downloaded this immediately after I saw the announcement.
me pirating and downloading all of nintendo's music for free:
@afedfbawdrs Thank God for MP3 files!!
They're really doing this rather than reveal the next console, this is just sad.
Nintendo hates their own fans.
The amount of nintendo bootlickers defending this garbage subscription is insane.
2:43 shut up shut up shut up shut up its going to be tomorrow
Do you think they'll add the celeste soundtrack soon?
@@TheGuy45 no, they won't.
@@Henry_2312how could not add the sound track from the hit underground indie game Celeste
@@RealAlcoholicHorse cuz its not really strictly a nintendo game (nintendo is like that) and its ost is already on spotify and stuff.
my fault for being late ( i missed to many uploads)
No worries
