always mulch. had a gravely zt34 for years with the mulch kit. just upgraded to the ikon onyx 52" also with the much kit. i cant be bothered by all the bagging and dumping. never had a problem with disease or anything else.
@@BuildALotAcres well the farmers almanac says we are in for a wet and wild winter here in the northeast (i'm in RI) hopefully the lawn doesnt take to much of a beating lol!
Great video Case. My grass is normally wet here. So I doubt a bagger would work. And I don’t have a mulching deck either, and a mulching deck won’t work in long wet grass. Has to be short and dry for those to work. I will say, that my old garden tractors cut the grass nicely and throw it out great. You normally don’t see clumps of grass from them, where as my newer yard works 42” deck mower plugs up and leaves clumps every where. We are still having very long grass to cut here still. Normally grass slows down growing in August but not this year. Have a great Sunday. 👍🏻
Funny you mention that Noel. I was thinking that exact same thing yesterday when I was mowing. With all the rain we’ve gotten, grass continues to grow long and lush and we’re about in September. Wild year for sure!
If you have excellent soil then mulching is not recommendable but, if you have bad dried soil and dried whether specifically CLAY then, you need to much at all times in fact, NEVER BAG. When you mulch, it practically converts grass and leaves to dust. And that dust converts into great soil which is excellent for your grass.
Baggers do not work very well on the grass we have over here which is mostly wet and thick. A few years back when we cut our grass with a Countax rideon we had a powered sweeper/collector, this system works well on our type of grass
I was a mulcher and I just purchased the bagger specifically for some dead spots I have from all the thatch. Much appreciated information.
Good morning Case, Interesting topic for discussion. And an informative video. Thanks!! Have a good one, Ben 👍
Thank you sir

Best wishes to you and yours. Live well
Bagging is great for reducing the germination of bad grass seeds. One bad grass or weed can have a few hundred seeds which are spread by the blades.
