Joe E. Brown was a swell guy, really! Humor was always down to earth, predictable and straight up. In today's world, the predictability factor would be a hindrance, but not for me.
Hugo Kipp ( Joe e.brown) a nerdy type of college student who is injected with a super-serum by a scientist (Lucien littlefield) the result causes the normally unathetic kipp to be quite the campus stud who catches the attention of pretty coed Irish Bennett (June Travis) this movie is based on the science fiction novel by Phillip Wylie which inspired the creators of Superman-its played for laughs by Mr brown-whose chu character tries to control his super strength when he plays football 🏈 and he gets into a wrestling 🤼 match to support a kid who admires him! Good film 🎥 to watch! 😂😂😊😊😊😊😊
Difference between book and movie adaptation is relatively the same as with most superhero comics (which Gladiator inspired by inspiring Superman) and their movie adaptations. Hell, compare "even" original Superman comics with Superman The Movie for instance.
Joe E Brown was an excellent athlete.

The book by Philip Wylie is a million times better than this film.
I 1000000000% agree
