Such talent - excellent playing religious music (and other probably) - fabulous!!!! Such a shame he passed on in his early 40's - quite a loss for sure.

When I see a guy like Anthony Burger play, I understand that really practicing the piano will not make you an Anthony Burger; I think most of his ability was just a gift from God. So much of this is talent, not practice.

I agree. He also played by ear which is a very special gift to have. However, speaking from experience, playing by ear doesn’t mean one can play like Anthony Burger or anywhere close. He had an extraordinary talent and countless hours of practice and experience. I’m guessing he had perfect pitch as well.

Brother Anthony is playing for the heavenly choir now. According to Wikipedia Anthony "At age eight months, he was using a baby walker and fell into a heating duct on the floor of his house.[ He suffered third degree burns on his hands, face and, legs. After suffering the burns, Burger's doctor told his parents he was very likely to not be able to move his hands in the future."

That was his own testimony. I heard him say that on a UA-cam video; he added that it was still true. "I don't move my hands; He does."

But that doctor didn't know the power of God

The Lord doesn’t always do as the doctors think. We have been Blessed and I’m thankful for his talent.

Me too, I would love to hear more about him, I have always loved Piano music but Anthony was awesome at it, & I have been around gospel music all of my life, I am 61, and have about 32 of the Gaither videos and he is on several. I loved watching the way he played, so classic & professional, a true Gift for sure.
