Great 👍
Thank you for the time, effort and skill you bring to these lessons... Much appreciated!
Thanks much appreciated! How have you found learning the demos/songs from different videos so far? I might try a survey in the new year to gauge ability levels to see where to pitch the next few lessons
@@CodaTuition Hand on heart, I'm notoriously bad at following instructions, but I have picked up a lot if good things from your lessons. I get lost with which finger should be doing what exactly but am happy to get near enough! Thanks again and Merry Christmas!
Good to hear the lessons are helping. Some of the original blues guys were 1 finger and thumb players so it's not essential to use exactly the fingering I'm suggesting. It is really useful to get the rhythmical separation between thumb and fingers though - thumb keeping the beat and fingers playing around it. Have fun!
Thanks for the sweet lesson my friend!
Thanks and you're welcome!
Nice simple explanation of the difference in playing scales on a cbg, well done!
Happy holidays,
Doc
Thanks - if you're interested to compare this with other scales, you can find lessons on the channel looking at the blues scales plus the 7 note major and minor scales
Very good. Can you tell me anything about the guitar itself? Who made it? what is the pickup and what amp are you using. I have made one of these myself but I am not happy with the tone etc, but I really like the tone you can produce on yours. Thanks.
Hi the guitar is from a UK builder - Chickenbone John. It's a basic one TBH but I swapped the nut to raise the action for slide, and also swapped the pickup for a hotrail humbucker which is less noisy for recording with. I use a modded Fender Hotrod but it's now like an old Bassman so very different to a stock one. If you have a valve amp, try using a boost pedal to help with the break up tone, and a cheaper option (instead of buying an expensive amp) can be to use pedals to achieve a good tone
