Nice video. Nice to see that you also keep a long line between pole and float when caster fishing to get the best bait presentation. Caster fishing is still a great method for the roach on my local T&M canal and am still using the old peacock dibbers to catch 'em on.

we always fished the leeds and liverpool canal in the 70's it was stuffed with fantastic tench they where fantastic days the world was a better place then,i remember catching an excellent 8LB 2oz tench we won so many matches made great friends been along time since i fished this great canal to many idiot's now beating people up and stealing there tackle today i fish the rivers mainly the river wye amazing place, once again the cadence team bringing us another awesome video thank you, today it's all about commercial fishing people feel much safer at a commercial that's why all the canals are sadly ghost venue's i remember matches 80 pegs they where on leeds liverpool canal wish them day's would comeback cheers cadence awesome video yet again chappy the man,ALIEN

Pretty much the conversation we had on the day. You're correct of course, but there are areas, like this, where you can fish and not be at any particular risk. Cheers.

The canal scene is thriving in the North West, Alien. I am not aware of any muggings etc, other than feeling mugged when you draw a bad peg. The Leeds-Livvy and the Lanky offer rewarding sport as long as you choose pegs by doing a bit of homework beforehand.

Alan yes i agree but the head of tench this canal used to hold is long gone. The stretch we fished on was fabulous kevin ashurst would show up quite regularly.I'm not a fan of commercial fishing as the fish can't move anywhere there stuck in 1 place also there is far less skill in commercial fishing. But i understand why people like commercial fishing.Since fishing the river wye there is nothing like it awesome fishing chubb roach perch and the mighty barbel my best barbel from the wye is 14LB 2OZ absolutely awesome place to fish and it's picturesque drop dead beautiful ROLL ON NEXT SUMMER alan lots of people will not fish the canal anymore purely for safety reasons mate Alien

Hi thank you for another great video. I love canal fishing tho’ mine is centred on the GU and occasionally the Wey Navigation. Some great tips for caster fishing. One nice point is that you see what Alan is using from preference not what the sponsor wants! As always Alan’s commentary combined with Ian’s superb camera work makes for a great video. Loved the shots of the Kingfisher! Bill

i'll tell you why fish love casters - because some freshwater invertebrate larvae turn into casters before emerging for the final free-flying, breeding stage of their life. the casters we used as bait perfectly mimic this natural food source.

If the depth's a uniform 3.1/2' from the end of the keep-net why is he fishing at 15mtrs ?? His pole probably cost more than my car did ! I'd go for my trusty 5mtr whip fished long-line with the flick tip.

Hi Dave, I fished at 13m and on the same line to my left at 15m because most of the leaves were gathering between the towpath and out to 12 metres, pushed there by the wind. You would have had a big struggle trying to fish a whip with the line catching on lots of leaves.
