Small thing.
When Goblin starts tearing up Spidey's webbing, you can hear the sound of steel bending - which informs you that just like in the comics the webbing is incredibly strong.
Love that touch
Good shit 💯💪🏾
I always thought that was a mistake that they somehow overlooked and that the webs were made with like tinfoil or something lol

@Justin Arzola Yeah, No Way Home is the only Tom Holland Spider-Man movie with good fight scenes. Hope they keep that style going forward
@@idakev Personally, while the fight scenes weren't as brutal, I found that they captured the spirit of Spider-Man's style excellently. Other than that, I'm inclined to agree.

I think with No Way Home, we can now say Green Goblin is the most dangerous villain in Spiderman. Never the fight that personal and hurtful, back then and now.
I think we could say that with the comics too lol. Not only is Spider-Man's most personal and powerful enemy, he's one of the most dangerous people in the Marvel universe because of his unpredictability.

And Willem Dafoe can _deliver,_ man! When I saw Norman's expression go completely manic it was like my head was plunged into ice water or something. I wasn't allowed to see most of the first Maguire movie because I was too young (and because Norman straight-up got impaled) so I knew he could act, but DANG that was awesome to witness! What's even worse? This man that him being close to was the father of the boy he was ALSO close to, and having to lie to him on the fact that HE killed his father.
I like it, I see it as a parallel to the usual: hero shocking the villain with their unmasked identity. Instead, they flipped it on it's head with this movie.

I actually really like that you see Pete rationalising in his head the reveal that Norman is the Green Goblin. He doesnt immediatly get angry or loud, he starts becoming real quiet and confused. Like the fact that Norman killed and hurt so many people would have never crossed his mind. Its kinda subtle and real tbh. I like it
That's the thing, since he was best friend to Harry and both Norman and Peter are geniuses on their own rights, they have a respect to each other. It's the same thing with Octavius but it's much deeper for him. Octavius is basically a man Peter aspires to be, he's also a genius, passion for science and the passion to help people. Not only that, Otto has a perfect life living with his wife. Otto is basically living the life only Peter was dreaming of.

I swear I feel like anyone who says the original Spider-Man trilogy is corny and overrated has never seen the movies. Just the memes of Spider-Man 3 and Tobey making facial expressions. These movies have intense moments of both action and emotion. This scene in particular captures an example of the height of both. This fight scene is intensely brutal and would’ve been even more had the studio not prevented Raimi from making it an R rating; but it’s also filled with true emotion. “I have a father. It’s the ripped suit that adds a sense of realism I feel like in movies these days most cases their face is a little scratched but their suits are perfectly fine
If the fight of his life was a person. It would be him because he went through hell. He went from being at the inches between life and death to nearly taking a life had the green goblin didn’t stop him.
A lot of people say Green Goblin is a lot more menacing in NWH, I think there's a reason to it.
The green goblin in this film clearly acts a lot more cautiously. He still lets Norman take control at times to keep up the appearance whilst maintaining dominant so he can take over Norman's body when he needs to. Like we see here, he (possibly) reverted back to Norman to trick peter and to lower his guard.
However, in NWH, he was told by Doc Ock that he's already a dead man walking. So to the Goblin, whether or not he gets sent back to die or have Norman "fixed" by spiderman, it doesn't make a difference because both of those option would mean the end of Goblin. Having nothing to lose, he no longer has to keep up an appearance. The Green Goblin we see in NWH is an unrestrained version whose only goal is to break spiderman. And I think both version are fantastic and portrayed perfectly by William Dafoe
Great analysis. I never thought of that but you're right. And I agree both versions were played so perfectly by Willem Dafoe. He slipped back into that role like an old suit that still fits perfectly.
Yeah people don’t realize that in this film goblin is actually using his brain a lot of the time. They also don’t realize that he’s trying to hide his identity and in this movie his character development and character arc were the focus for Norman. The point of this movie was building up Normans character that’s why NWH goblin doesn’t work without this one, without this one the groundwork of the villain becomes shallow. Goblin in this film also proposes a deal with Spider-Man because he doesn’t want them to kill each other because he sees them both as equals.
This one is much better imo
Goblin tried to be slick in NWH. That nigga thought he was so slick 🤣, he had the best poker face out of any Marvel villain in history. He ALMOST fooled Tom's Holland Spiderman spider sense and he had a straight ass face and was acting convincing as hell, hell nah 😂. Goblin go for that, he tried to pull one over Tom's Spiderman and test him and see what he is about and if he had that Spider Sense that Tobey have.

Accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, that He died for you and all of our sins, acknowledge that you are a sinner and that you need Him, repent and ask forgiveness, and believe and have faith that He is real.
Now once you accept Him, you will receive the Holy Spirit, now while you are alive, read your bible, follow God, and live for Him
In my opinion, the best climax of all the Spiderman films period. In the movie where Peter gets his powers, the final fight is in an environment that’s completely against him. His face is exposed, There’s no walls to climb on, everything he swings from breaks, and all of these realizations happening as a pumpkin bomb explodes in his face. His Spider sense is useless because so many things are happening to him at the same time that he can’t stop them. It’s really the most difficult obstacle he has to overcome in the entire trilogy, that’s why this finale is so memorable, brutal and hopeless, and eventually triumphant and uplifting.
*Edit from 2020*
I’m just now seeing the response and conversation started by this comment, over two years later.
Holy Sh*t
Great observations. Raimi and crew really thought out the fight scenes. Extreme attention to detail.
Couldn't have said it any better!
And if you notice, Peter's fighting style slowly devolves into fight or flight, becoming more similar to an actual predatory animal (a spider) the closer to death he gets. He starts using his webs to catch the Goblin, and when he finally gets mad, he uses an aerial attack to catch the Goblin much like Opilliones do.
Travis Mitchell This comment just makes me love this scene even more
How is his spider sense useless? His spider sense literally saved his life when he dodged the green goblin’s glider
I love the fact that at the beginning of the fight there is no music, it gives you an atmosphere of a serious fight and demonstrates that not always final fights need suspense music. By listening all those sounds, the spectator sumerges into another reality.
