It is worth mentioning that Vulcan S has a parallel-twin engine instead of a V-twin design, and therefore, it has very different control riding characteristics. When I go to very light throttle, it gets a slight vibration/shudder. Not really lugging motor and it will accelerate fine. The Vulcan S simply doesn’t like “light throttle “. It likes to be wound out and shifted around 5000 rpm. I wanted to shift at 2000 rpm and ride at 2500 to 3000 rpm and Vulcan S engine doesn’t like that (shudder and vibrate). I now shift at 4500 to 5000 rpm and cruise around 5000 rpm. It just takes some getting used to (for those who used to ride a V-twin bike).

Tripp, Nice looking Kawasaki. A friend had a similar Motorcycle. He’d buy it bare bones then add things. Same way you did.
I have a little experience installing some parts on those Motorcycles. My friend owned one and I’d help install parts and do oil changes. Plus by me helping I made sure my tools were clean and put back.

Tripp On Two Wheels very nice you replied to me. Currently I have my Vulcan S checked valve gaps. 3 new gap shims in 3.05mm are order, which are the smallest tolerance in OEM spare parts list. And a new rubber riser for engine upper hat and 2 rubber riser or gasket so called in English are ordered and going to be replacing the older ones with shims replacement together. As the order period is 4 weeks, the mechanics have my bike’s engines installed so that I may back on road over the time. Hope your bike is doing fine and have a nice ride on VS.

Just out of curiosity, with how much those Givi tail bags stick out, do you notice a significant change in how things feel at highway speeds? I'm in the process of trying to decide on some storage/luggage options for my Vulcan S. Also still on the fence about the booster plug. Not that I've heard any bad things I just don't know if it's enough of a QOL improvement.

@@trippontwowheels ah OK. That makes sense. I haven't even owned the Vulcan S for a week yet and that gear position indicator has already spoiled me. My previous bike didn't have any indicator, but that also caused me problems when I first started since I stalled thinking I was in first, but the bike was stuck in second gear. It was a stall after the light had turned gear. I guess the lady behind me forgot I was there and just kept going. I don't even know how I managed for so long without such a thing.

Great video! I had a question. Looking at the bike it's obviously a chain drive, but there also seems to be a guard or something on it. How difficult is it to clean and lube the chain? Oh and actually, when you buy the bike, do you get your option of ergo fit as part of the purchase price? Or does it come with standard fittings by default and the extended fit is extra?

    • @trippontwowheels

Hi D F! Good to hear from you and I hope you subscribe. The chain on the KVS is easy to clean and adjust - takes just a few minutes. All is included in the bike's price.... or should be!
