Tvs has better suspension and slightly more peppy engine with lighter chassis. I do agree on looks but not everyone wants a sharp/angular looking machine. It's good that we have competition at this price range. It's always better for the consumer.

Hero wins it with the design. So much better than raider. As an owner of a raider, it feels so small, especially when we look from behind. Looks like we're on a tiny bike. And the service is oh-so-terrible. The sound is great, and the engine is peppy.

So far their customer service and vehicle service seems to be good. I guess it's better to ask around in your locality about how the service is. The raider is still a really good option in this price range with such great performance.

Xtreme 125R has a USB charging port! And ABS over any kind of bluetooth gimmicks any day (even though Xtreme also has basic bluetooth features). Plus Xtreme has more practical features like engine kill switch and kick start. Also Xtreme has better suspention, better illumination at night etc. Its just a more sensible choice.
i dont know what kind of nimbu paani they were drinking but giving a power mode at the place of kill switch? they kinda pioneered kill switch in scooter with Ntorq that followed suite with other scooters brand. yet messed up in this bike. and then refused to give single channel ABS update. i have more respect for hero for launching a good 125 cc bike that looks good. especially xtreme125 with acid green accent and black body.
Verdict - both bikes are great for city and daily use. But if you want to do long rides, the Xtreme 125R is better as it's counter balanced engine allows it to hold higher speeds without much stress.
My mother was not able to sit on the Xtreme 125r. So I had purchased TVS raider 125 it's running well. With the 3 valves the pickup is good and with the air and oil cooling system the engine doesn't get overheated in long drive and it improves the engine life. Top end performance is really good. Suspension is on mid side both stability and comfort are available. But single channel ABS is a big miss in TVS Raider. By applying front break more and rear break 40 to 50% the breaking will be good without any skidding. Getting 60km mileage. Comfortable for families too in long run. Exhaust note was good But the single channel ABS, LED lights and tyres are good in Hero Xtreme 125R. Hero should have given oil cooling system in xtreme 125r for doing long rides
@@arvindfluidic yes. Air and oil cooling system is there in TVS Raider. When you do long rides along with the air the engine oil also cools the engine with which the engine life also gets improved. I had purchased tvs raider to do long rides only. Within city I'm using mostly Tork Kratos R electric bike. Even some 150cc bikes like Yamaha FZ, pulsar 150 are also not having oil cooling system

Xtreme 125 has a USB charger tucked under the handlebar for weather protection. Just because you guys can't find it, please dont mention it as a missing feature. There's bluetooth connectivity as well in xtreme. You get incoming call, messages and battery percentage. Which is far more useful than the cricket scores offered on Raider. And how can you justify having engines modes which actually is a gimmick on Raider. The engine kill switch is far more useful and needworthy feature in the bikes. And did you find the kick starter on Raider ? 😀 What about service and ease of ownership ? I feel you guys should look at the website for more details before publishing the video.
Good Points. I was considering the Raider because it does not look big. I am a short guy and a bigger bike would not suit me. But the lack of a kick starter is making me reconsider it lol
If you have any problem for spare parts You can contact with area office of that perticular dealership I'm a parts manager of hero dealer I can say proudly that Hero company is the only company who cares for their customers Especially for service and spare parts Maximum 10 days on rare occasions Please ask the dealer for order details for your parts You won't believe hero sends their parts by air from plants on emergency....
Hero service is poor too...i am talking with personal experience...poor diagnosis of problems and casual attitude towards problems faced by the customers...i was forced to sell my bike just because of the frustrating service of Hero...i am not aware of TVS service so wont comment...but having ridden the Raider multiple times... I can say that it isn't as exciting as many say it is...its rear suspension has a lot of sag and if you carry an average sized adult as pillion...it does scrape the speedbreakers and does bottom out too...also the engine feels strained and struggles to pick up pace if you are riding with a pillion. Another experience is that the bike feels a bit bouncy especially at the rear and braking performance isn't that great either...ABS is anyday a better choice than a digital instrument cluster as the ABS might save you from crash but the instrument cluster wont.

Kudos to india for making such bikes with advance features with price range half of that of Pakistani bikes of same capacity. Even pakistani bikes dont have ABS or Fuel Injection and top milage is around 50kmpl. Really impressive market competitors in India.
Anyone here please help me to chhose from Pulsar 125 top model, Raider top mpdel and xtream abs. As a family guy... I'm really confused which to purchase.
Lets narrow it down to two things. Both are good machines but for family TVS raider is more affective and for single riders Hero Xtreme 125. But i would say if reliability and smoothness of engine is the thing then just look at Honda Sp 125 , it doesn't have all the features but it has what matters more the quality bike.

Yup, the sound of the rear drum brake was irritating to say the least. Was complaining about this issue right from the first service itself. Didn't fix it even in the 3rd service. Also had a problem with the gear position indicator due to which the engine warning lamp would become engaged and due to that, auto start stop would not work. Pathetic service. Sold the bike after about 1.25 years after being fed up.
One issue with Raider and even other TVS bikes is that they are a size smaller than the competition. For anybody above 5'7", the bikes will feel small. Other issue is their pathetic service.
TVS Raider was a good looker in photos, but I saw one irl some days ago, damn it looked so bad, especially in the yellow colour. I had fourth hand embarrassment watching someone ride that crap, looks like some insect from the front, a Hornet maybe.

Well articulated indeed. It is astonishing to see the weight difference of 13 kg between the two motorcycles and the Honda SP 125 weighing another 10 kg lower than the lighter TVS. What about pillion comfort? Would this not be a consideration in this segment?
You are asking to turn off engine start stop in stop and go bumper to bumper traffic, where it actually does all its work? Again, this shows how disconnected and spoilt reviewers have become. Its a commuter, it needs a better mileage.
It doesn't work if the traffic is continuously crawling at a very slow speed and you have to keep putting your feet down - keeps trying to turn the engine off in that situation. Otherwise works well as mentioned in the video, and we left it on for our FE tests
I want to add something to this review, the led headlight intensity of tvs is very very poor... My activa on the other hand has a better headlight visibility as it has a halogen bulb. Tvs really needs to work on the headlight, rest everything on the raider is good.
Personally Raider 125 is better in terms of features but has a setback with kick start... Otherwise for Bangalore roads I would easily prefer the Raider 125 than Xtreme 125

I got a pulser p150 for higher speck rider budget which has
1 single channel ABS
2 DUEL disks
3 rear mono shock
4 14 bhp.
P150 looks ugly, should have gone for N150.

You are asking to turn off engine start stop in stop and go bumper to bumper traffic, where it actually does all its work? Again, this shows how disconnected and spoilt reviewers have become. Its a commuter, it needs a better mileage.
It doesn't work if the traffic is continuously crawling at a very slow speed and you have to keep putting your feet down - keeps trying to turn the engine off in that situation. Otherwise works well as mentioned in the video, and we left it on for our FE tests
He said in crawling traffic, where you have to move a few metres every second, not in stop and go traffic, atleast listen carefully before criticising

I want to add something to this review, the led headlight intensity of tvs is very very poor... My activa on the other hand has a better headlight visibility as it has a halogen bulb. Tvs really needs to work on the headlight, rest everything on the raider is good.

Personally Raider 125 is better in terms of features but has a setback with kick start... Otherwise for Bangalore roads I would easily prefer the Raider 125 than Xtreme 125
