  • Kaiser & Jonny crack open yet another army deal from Battlefront for Flames of War. This is a curious one as although it is late war Soviet, it contains a chunky amount of lend-lease equipment. Interesting set.

I just finished reading the book by Markus Reisner about the Battle for Vienna in March/April 45. Available in german only but a most excellent study. This box is great for recreating the 9th Guards mechanized Corps as part of the 6th Guard Tank Army. The plastic and the structure of the formation is very close to the historical units. So BF did a great job in recreating the real thing too.

Great box opening, watched it while building the last vehicles in my German Tank Training Company - get service as always from Mrs Kaiser :)

Thank you for this great unboxing video! Your extended knowledge of history adds a lot to your videos. Really enjoyable and informative at the same time.
I am building, painting and finishing this set right now. In a few days i am going to give it to my son as a birthday gift.
    Keep up the good work!

Great to get this kind of feedback, not everyone likes the history, but I think it is the thing that distinguishes our unboxings from the same stuff everyone else does.

I'm planning on getting this to split between my US and Soviets. Need more sherman lates, and they dont come in many value sets sadly, the US AA is solid in this, and the rest will really help expand my Soviet collection

Dunno how I missed this, anyway, watched it now and it was a very enjoyable bit of history to accompany the wee plastic men. I also enjoyed the Bob Fleming tribute act in your out-take at the end!

I always thought that Sherman 'marks' where to do with the engine that was fitted more than anything else. I can't remember them all without looking them up but I think the M4 had the Continental Radial, the M4A2 had a diesel, the M4A3 had a Ford V8 and the M4A4 had the Chrysler Multi Bank (which some British crews did not like). I can't remember what the M4A1 and M4A6 had though. The 17pdr is a 76.2mm (3 inch) gun btw. It's not that big, it's just high velocity - think more akin to the 75 in the Panther

The A numbers are engines, but the E numbers are variants; I think.

@@ModellingforAdvantage could well be the case - British Shermans from the D-day book have been my most successful army overall

Just a minor correction, the easy eight is generally an A3 model not an A2 model. Great video tho 😁

Most are A3s, but the actual Fury tank in the movie is the one that belongs to the tank museum here in the UK and its an A2. You can read about that here: tankmuseum.org/tank-nuts/tank-collection/m4-sherman-fury

This box looks like a mix of the allied powers best bits. Britain 🇬🇧 and America 🇺🇸 helped Russia 🇷🇺 big time with Equipment

So what is the difference between an unboxing and a deboxing?
