I swear these two were the main reason *everyone* and their brother wanted to be a dj in the early 2000s.
For me it was guys like Dave Clarke, Jeff Mills, Umek, Luke Slater, Oliver Ho, Ignition Technition & DJ Funk 🤩
And their sister!!
Remember how crazy child I get listening Around the World for the first Time on radio and waiting hours with my radio tape to record this insane and repetitive track who made my parents crazy completly doesnt get the trip and yell to shut this down lol. Then da funk and révolution 909 on MCM and MTV... Epic still today. I grow UP with eurodance but Daft punk make me a true Techno Love. Forever raver. And Big UP climax

I sung this at my school talent show audition. It was sorta like beatboxing but I can’t beat box so I just screamed, bumped and booshed my way through the songs sounds

Then someone yelled "he's having seizure" and it was a whole ordeal I'll have to explain it to you one day over a drink

Yes We need a video or some type of audio!!
This song is usually available at places that have those digital jukeboxes, love to play it to drive people crazy.

One thing nobody can deny is that these transitions are absolutely seemless and flawless. Pure energy.
I had this on tape in 97/98 ... complete Homework album, later I gave the tape to a friend, so he can make a copy, he never returned my original. God I miss that tape.

Not much is needed to create good music. I can beatbox and put goosebumps on everyone in a matter of seconds, just like a good singer does. All its takes is art and talent
@@Anudorini-Talah you're very right. they had talent. Hope they keep doing solo stuff
Hearing this at 13 was the best thing that ever happened to me.
Daft punk proves at least in some of their songs repeating the same words over and over makes the best song ever
The prime time of your life
repetition legitimizes
*television rules the nation*
*around the world*
They just proove you dont need words for make a good sound, so high fot you maybe
Daft Punk should have been at the Olympics tonight. Had they played this, most 56k modems would have come back to life and connected the world.
One time I was on my computer listening to this on Spotify, but the internet dropped out. Because the whole song was loaded but nothing else, I decided to loop it.
Listened to this song and played Chrome dino game for a good hour. Good times.

This might be the most important/unavoidable song in a Daft Punk mix ever
Rollin' & Scratchin' was one of their first tracks and it's still one of their best. This monster's been a backbone in their discography and live shows ever since. Easily one of the most important tracks in electronic music history. This track DEFINED live electronica.
Can just imagine this playing during an intense club scene in a movie
And everyone is having a bad trip...
To many bots
"Climax" bruh
Or a Hotline Miami moment
BEHOLD, THE SON OF OUR MAKER!!!
This album was so cutting edge when it came out…. Paved the way for Justice, 2 many DJs, Erol Alkan, Audio Bullys, Boys Noize, …still gives me goosebumps
One of the rawest and (as the title suggests) scratchest Daft Punk "song", but that’s why it’s also one of the best :) Big favorite to this day.
The first time I heard this song, I said: "This song is trash, I don't really like it". But one friend of mine told me that the more i heard this song, the more i'll like it.

I legit can't stop listening to this. Holy shit this bangs.
This song hits hard and doesn't stop! Perfect.
David Moss legit perfect:
People think I'm mad for listening to this, but IMO this is by _far_ the best thing Daft Punk have ever done. Wish they made more hard hitting house music like this instead of party anthems.
Absolutely agree. Their best track hands down.
in this boat with ya
I love this Techno/House style of music
Not really.
Second best after Alive IMO, but right up there. They could have quit 20 years ago no probs
I was a super huge fan of Daft Punk as a little kid and I would play their songs in my room and dance when I got home from school and this song and Rock N’ Roll drove my parents absolutely crazy, but I loved them and would be jammin out 😂😂😂
thats me. i would play their songs and my mom says turn off that trash its annoying. but i don't mind i still love it
I would say fuck you and give big kisses for them. My feelings have changed, and maybe my ear with it also. 25th anniversary remixes are just something that gets me bit sick. They are here ,but unlisted.
This is the real Daft Punk, back in the days. Timeless album.
Well while it's def one of my fav daft punk song and i mean homework in general is my fav album i can def see tho how someone outside the techno bubble will find this song in particular to be quite "weird"
Aside from it simply being the raw power of the beat, I feel like they were kinda showing off a little with this one: we're gonna make you dance to distortion!
One of the best Daft Punk songs

Daft Punk is popular for their french house and as of RAM disco and funk throwbacks, but people need to stop sleeping on their techno!
wot m8, they've gone more mainstream but murica is only just now getting into house and what they think is dubstep. Not really a demographic for it, I grew up on discovery and da funk.
+James May It's weird how outside of Chicago and Detroit, American electronic music (that isn't hip hop) didn't really get popular. There was a short bubble in the early 90s when hip house and Eurodance mixed together, but that didn't last long.
@@jamesmay9363 they grow casual mainstream yes, like every other really. Only focusing profit. Less quality, just delivering and capitalize.

I’ve known this track for years and always thought it was good, but one day I truly felt its genius and immense power. The music completely took over me, and I moved like crazy until the record stopped playing. I shook my head so much that the next day I had the worst neck pain ever.
It’s simply a masterpiece, musical perfection.
I always say that this is one of the most fun tracks to mix. It’s easy to slip into songs and it thumps hard
I remember going all over Paris to find the 33 rpm version of Da Funk BECAUSE on the other side of the record there was this title. I finally found it and I put it on at every party and there... I would climb on the table with a broom and do the show, and everyone would go crazy!! What memories...! The best sound ever !
I remember dancing this song well at the club Sound Factory in São Paulo, Brazil ... it was really amazing ...
Quintessential piece of techno at its purest.
The timing and delays on this track are something today's electronic artists can take notes on.
+Drew Courney I was just gonna say that honestly, I love the timing on this song, and how raw it sounds
look at Justice if you want good timing. They got that shit on lock down
I strongly disagree but still enjoy this song as I love all tunes from Homework
Its only because it came out such a long time ago and the fact that it was made by daft punk that you liked it. If something this raw was put out today by any of the new artist who are not even famous you'll roast the shit out of them
@@anmamusic6595 With daft punk its easy to remember a certain sound. One more time, etc but BAM, suddenly you found something like this instead, from 1997, where techno was stiill raw and they were part of it.
This is by far the best morning alarm music I can ever find

Man.. coming back here after 20 years.. No i am 26 and it all sounds 100 times better with a grown up mind. It naturally combines with my fantasies and memories from when i was a kid, so beautiful. This song clearly has drifting cars in it!
Like a warm slice of bread with butter melting on top, this song is simplicity embodied. Its June 2020 and I still haven’t finished Daft Punk’s homework from 1997. Still here.
I remember listening to this in 98 on the dancefloor of a club that held about 100 people. There was 200 people on the dancefloor. It was the summer and the roof was sweating. Everyone was on pills and their bodies contorted and twisted together like some sort of bacchanalian chaos realm..

Modern Daft Punk: " It might not be the right time, it might not be the right one; but there's something about us I want to say... "
Early Daft Punk :
both slapped hard, in my opinion.
@Thermal I’m my opinion it’s almost vice versa but I still have respect for their albums, even “human after all” which is the weakest of the bunch.
2013 Daft Punk: If love is the answer you're home
1997 Daft Punk: *PRINTER NOISES INTENSIFIES*
Discovery was 2001, that was only about 8 years into their career, hardly modern.
RAM is probably a better example of their modern work.
That said, I don't think they have a bad album, even Human After All has its charm

I was literally listening to you guys last night, and this last week. I honestly can't believe that this would happen, especially with all that you've guys done together. I even remember when you guys released "Get Lucky" on my birthday on UA-cam and me always jamming too it even last night. You guys were truly iconic, and legendary. A duo that will always be remembered for its memorable iconic and legendary moments which in my opinion were one of the best duos ever. Thank you for everything, you guys did, you will truly be missed Daft Punk. I honestly didn't expect this to happen so early, but like they always say every great thing always has a start and then an end. Truly missed and one of the best artists in history. Glad to have been able to exprience them throughout all these years & to hear them. All the best to the both of them as they take on their seperate ways. 😭🤧👏💫👑🔝🙏👑
This is the purest most authentic house music ever devised it is their crown jewel.
I remember the first time I heard it in 1997 I was 12 and I immediatly became addict to that song. Althought I felt a little unconfortable because I thought that most of the people could not understand the power aned the greatness of it. Anyway, Homework was the first album I had and it defined a large part of my musical tastes. And 23 years later I still love that song as much as when I was a kid!
Je ne suivais plus trop le groupe depuis ma période tek des années 90, mais je dois admettre que ce morceau reste le meilleur du monde planétaire intersidéral. Ptin changez rien les gars, vous êtes au top.
THIS!!! This was the FIRST Daft Punk track that I listened to IN A CLUB! I was 13! My neighbour who was my best friend showed me this album. And one day I went to a Club "matiné" and the DJ played this for Kids from 13 to 17 years old. It became a classic in my mind! Today, on my 37 years of age, I cry. I cry because of the end of something I love from the first day. I am NO ONE, but my love is GIANT! My skin, emotions and thought are all FUCKED UP because you announced your split. It's UNFAIR for the electronic music culture. For me, you will always be GODS. Yes, this might sound desperate speech, and it is. I am no one with the pain of everyone! I can't handle this now... I feel desperate of crying like a newborn baby but instead of having a long life ahead, I feel the end of the line. I'm sorry if you're reading this. More than myself, this must be huge for you guys. I just want to send my love and... sniff (yeah, couldn't handle the tears anymore), wish you all the best! Best regards from a Portuguese adult fan who is dying inside. Will LOVE you until the end of my days. Mauro
