1,425 Instruments playing simultaneously, get those ear defenders on!
I enjoyed that. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I’d be dead chuffed if I were you. Like others I was carried along by the shifting patterns but an interesting thing occurred for me: at about 2 minutes in (sorry, I don’t remember the exact time) The Wife distracted me and I had to pause the piece for about five seconds. When I resumed playback the patterns had completely changed. I rewound the video to about 20 seconds before the point where I’d originally paused, but all I could hear were the new patterns - the ‘old’ piece had vanished and now lives only in my (quickly fading) memory of it. I look forward to hearing your further experiments and will try to take part if time allows. I really appreciate what you’re doing, thank you.
That is INCREDIBLE! It’s really interesting how it has an effect on the short term memory 🤔
It's like an organic crystallizer. Interesting moments that essentially could be sampled and used as a basis for a section with a fixed bpm. I can only imagine the dread of balancing all those files. Happy to be a part of it. 😊 And congratulations to whomever wins. 🎉🥳
Thanks for taking part! 🙏 that is such a beautiful way of putting it!
My first ever comment on the tube, such a wonderful result, thanks for the invite guys! was so much fun being a part of this amazing experiment and the result is very much like life on Earth, beautiful and chaotic! Let's go again!
Thanks for taking that plunge with us!!
This is music of the spheres. The sounds of the strings that everything is made out of. Vibrating frequencies that creates time, space and thought.
👆Poetry in motion! 👆
Ohhh... Beautiful. The best parts are when it all comes together and then splits apart but never really in the same way.
I could actually listen to this for more that 4 minutes easily.
On REPEAT!!!
So please I could be a 1/95th part of this! Had a lot of fun with my submission, and looking forward to more collaborations like this. Kudos too for the work involved in putting this audio and video sequence together - what a mammoth task!
Thank you! We’re happy that you sent us something to collaborate with 🙏 here’s to many more!
Just beautiful. The way shapes, colours, and rhythms just start to emerge, and then decay is so wonderful. Godammit I love music.
RIGHT?! it’s one of those moments that just reminds you how beautiful music is!
A triumph! Like the ending of a film where EVERYTHING turned out wonderfully and an entire city, or an immense crowd celebrates their deliverance from the "forces of evil." I am serious...
I can see the scene in my head!
@@TheCrowHillCo I have actually worked in scenes such as the one I described. I am (retired) a SAG actor and in addition to my on-screen film and TV work, did a LOT of voiceover work in major films which had numerous crowd scenes. (Now it's just composing and audiobook narration for me.) You brought back a lot of good memories for me Christian. I admire your exceptional talent and zeal very much. (I also like your Mom's acting...it was quite splendid....)
Bravo. It's mesmeric how different sets of instruments appear to come into phase together and then hand over to a different set of "in phase" instruments.
Right?!?! Loose and tight and then loose but actually tight in a different rhythm
Stunning result! So hypnotic and beautiful. I missed out the shout out for assistance. I’d be happy to help with future projects.
Stay tuned for more collabs!
Amazing how the rhythms and tones change during this piece. I thought with the number of instruments involved my brain would shut off, but it works. Thank you Cristian and your friends.
It’s something you can’t even predict but it JUST WORKS! Thank you! ☺️
The magic of music and people. @@TheCrowHillCo
Absolutely gorgeous. I think process as an artform is vastly underrated.
Really cool! Makes me wanna dive into that concept more myself. And thanks for including me :)
GO FOR IT!!! Thanks for sending it in!
Would definitely love to see/hear more of this type of experimenting! I was sad that I missed the chance to take part, but congrats to you and everyone who took part. It really is a thing of beauty :)
Fascinating, wonderful outcome. And I was worried my piano hadn't been tuned for a while! Really delighted to have been part of it (and just a little startled to hear my own voice when I clicked play!). Look forward to the next opportunity to participate. All the best to the Crow Hill Gang.
This is what I think it would sound like inside a wormhole Christian! Well done to you and the assembled Sampleists!
Very true! It’s reminiscent of the end of interstellar!
I love how it evolves and ebbs and flows...Such a gorgeous sound, especially on a good pair of headphones.
100%! With headphones or monitors is just pure bliss!
Congratulations to the piece. Was great fun participating in the challenge and looking forward to some kind of piano phace murmuration instrument, if this is an idea!!
That is a swell idea!
Mesmerising! Beautiful! Congratulations.
It has a nice organic feel to it.
Right?!
This scratches a certain itch in my brain in a way I wasn't expecting to have, let alone consider enjoying.
It really does! Trying decide whether it’s the left or right side
Magical! Great feeling to be a part of this! Fantastic work putting it together, Christian. More, yes, please 🚀
Very cool idea, Christian! I enjoyed this a lot, and seeing your process was great.
This was fun to be a part of - both my guitar and my piano! I experimented a LOT with this kind of thing back in my music college days!
Brilliant ! So interesting ! Please go on with such experiments ! My brain was in turmoil at certain points in the play. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to participate on this one but would love for future ones.
That turned out really beautiful! Great work and thanks for inviting us to be a part of it, it was fun contributing.
Thank you for taking part! It wouldn’t have been possible without you 🙏
I so nearly got Involved in this but, glad I didn’t…1426 instruments would have been one too many. What a stunning arrangement!
Please do next time! The only thing better than 1426 instruments is 1427!
Beautiful chaos and symmetry....... Great stuff.
That is so beautifully put! 👏
I could swear I heard vocals (ahhhhh).... Congrats all. An amazing achievement.
Oooh keen ears!
The glissandi resulting from ascending / descending pitches that are very close together in time. These occur at different times throughout the entire piece.
If maths is any indicator, the timing periods of phi are the _most_ chaotic.
this is insane! i love the creativity on it wow
Thank you so much! 😊
Wow! What an amazing set of unexpected patterns flowing into and out of sync with one another. You should release that as a download.
That’s an amazing idea!
@@TheCrowHillCo... thanks!
I've had an idea of an instrument that is purely composed of extended string legato note switches. I wonder what that would sound like
That is a brilliant idea!
@@TheCrowHillCo Build it and they will come!
Fantastic. System music pur sang. Well done all.
Well done all indeed!
somehow parts of this reminds me of the "signal" from the movie contact. maybe they used this technique?. If you play it long enough into the eather maybe someone will reply :)
It’s like stating into the abyss of music! 🤔
Fascinating what overall sound emerges from this experiment - just brilliant! Sign me up if I can contribute to the next round 🙂. I was thinking a contra bass ? Have a wonderful week. Cheers, Roland
Thanks Roland! 🙏 stay tuned for more fun stuff like this 😊
Pure magic+chaos= beauty
Lovely and perfectly imperfect❤
I Made a Piece of Music With 1,425,000 instruments. I called it "Pink Noise".
It’s a solid name!!
Wait I just read the number of instruments 🤯
Curiosity never killed the cat, it simply evolved.😁🎶🎹🎶Play On
... beautiful.
Enjoyed being a part of this and it's great to see how it came out (and the different things others did).
Thanks a million for being a part of it! It’s incredible!
About the 5:20 mark I could swear I was listening to an Underworld track
People are living 5:20!
Exactly what I heard!
Fascinating !1111
May the chaos continue!
Long may it continue!
Would you try putting this piexe through pitchmap to apply new harmony? The texture is amazing, if only you could fit it into your harmony...
Awesome!!! It turned out great - like a giant phased harp! 🤩🎶✨️
That is an awesome description!
WOW! From 5:20 is insane!!!
The Wurli doing the lord’s work!
This is SOooo GENIUS!!! I feel really honoured to have contributed to this. This has inspired me to try and make my own version. Thank you very much - I really needed this inspiration right now! 🫂
Wow ❤❤
Thank you so much! 😊
@@TheCrowHillCo you are very welcome! 😊 I would have loved to participate, but was swamped with some briefs
If i'm correct, they're all playing the same melody? I think without the variations in rhythm and the different times instruments were introduced it may have sounded really odd in my perspective. You made interesting with the way you introduced the instruments and the variations with the sine waves (don't know if i'm correct) you used. Interesting. Awesome!
Psychedelic ice cream van
And I thought you switched to Cubase .....
👀👀👀 Rome wasn’t built in a day…
@@TheCrowHillCo Nero burning software is old now :P
Wow...That's a lot of editing that would break my skull. Ha. Very interesting, these poly rhythms are becoming very popular lately with synths ect. But pianos organic instruments sounds great. Whilst listening I suddenly had a flash back to tubular bells I think there's a bit in there that sounds like a bit of that. Sorry not sure if that made sense. Ha... Take care.
Fantastic, Christian! 🙏🏻 And all involved!
Thank you so much!!!
I don't have words to describe how great this is. I did hoot out loud at one point.
Hahahaha I love a good hoot! Thank you for enjoying it so much 😊
Bravo! Excellent work! Top notch editing skills and vision! 😀👏👏👏
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Amazing!!!❤
Thanks! 🙏
It's raining pianos! That was some very enjoyable alchemy, and quite meditative. I think it would go nicely with a lightning storm.
Hahaha it sure is! Raining keys and hammers!
Has anyone seen a video called ' I heard you like polyrhythms ' by Virtual Riot.
It's here on UA-cam and quite interesting
It's a very similar concept to this
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll go check it out
Really good, love big community events like this. Sorry I missed it
There’ll be more!
very interesting!
Thanks! Hope it inspires you 😊
a truly imaginative work, greatly excecuted -. I´d call it the black sheep brother of Discipline by King Crimson...
I’ll send that name to the copyright office ✉️
Quite interesting! Call it “maximal minimalism”perhaps? :) Thank you!
Thanks for the working title!
