Back when Sebastian Vettel was in GP2 with Kobayashi, they were all wondering "how Kamui was managing those corners at such speeds". Sad thing is, Kamui was a Toyota Driver. With Toyota withdrawing from F1, he had nowhere to go.... Sauber took him on merit, before replacing him with Esteban Gutierrez, a driver with much less ability, and much more financial backing.
@@freakysquirrel7218 not all pay drivers have the talent or a wet towel I get that he's not as exciting to watch as kamui but saying that he didn't deserve to be in F1 on that basis alone is idiotic.
If only DRS hadn't come along and masked his skillset :/ Kamui in a top ride would have been spectacular (well more spectacular). In an era of nobody wanting to overtake only Kami and Lewis were ready and willing to send it like this.
This is an example of a good dive bomb - the overtaking car leaves space on the outside of the corner. On many of the occasions where Verstappen does it he pushes the defending car off the track or forces it to go wide.
@@Alto53 I’ve seen many replays of kobayashi hitting the outside car on exit though. Plus Pierre did it really bad to lando last year, plus leclerc with max in Austria, plus a lot of other instances with other drivers. Max does do it a lot but people keep thinking he’s the only one that does it lol.
When he was in F1 Kobayashi has horrible reputation in terms of fierce overtaking attempts, and he took way more blames than Max (factoring out total exposures of course, you have to remember not much fans can spell his name correctly). Only when he is long gone do people start to appreciate him. Plus many fans got here because we've watched quite a few Kobayashi brilliant moves.
No actually, the difference is time. Max is now and present. 10 years from now Max's driving too would be legendary, which it still is for those who actually understand driving, including the likes of Martin Brundle who said on record that Max is the most Senna like driver since Senna. Senna used to push drivers all the time and as Brundle said, "you either gave him space or he'd crash into you." Same was with Schumacher, but Max is nowhere that dangerous. But only because Max is present that people don't realise what talent he is. Talent is seen best not in its own time but later.
@@Alto53 that's got more to do with how the present cars drive instead of Max's elbows. Present cars cannot cut as sharp an apex as earlier cars could.
@@epictetusenlightenment7224 still not the point tho ppl love to have double standards these days racing is racing and it should be that way and if it is dangerous driving then the FIA should be banning it or the driver

Kobayashi is one of the most underrated drivers ever in F1.
Kubica as well
Kamui was driving crazy during this race I loved it! 😍
Ricciardo's hero
Kobayashi is such a legend. Definitely deserved a top seat, and I reckon if he came back now he’d still be one of the best drivers on the grid
Kobayashi could have reached some legendary status in F1, but luck wasn't on his side
Kobayashi, Kubica, Bianchi: All drivers who could have made it far but sadly had no luck on their side (some less than others :c)

luck and money* apparently

Let's not forget this chad "drifted" the 130R that shit was amazing
best overtake ive ever seen tbh
He's "Mr. Excitement" for a reason!
I think hd even got a podium in Japan 2011 or 2012

This is the official channel of Lord Kobayashi. Anyone who disagrees will be divebombed.
God how i miss that sound.. F1 never the same..
I didn't even knew overtakes like this was possible until I saw it
I miss that guy
idk why the algorithm is showing me these Kobayashi Klips but im all for it.
Absolutely mugged Sutil off there.

Wow. Verstappen is so Kobayashi like in his straight pointy lunges towards the apex while overtaking!
So is this a divebomb? It looks exactly like what Max does but Max gets criticized all the time for it. He's not the only driver that does it lol.

And now it's called "dangerous driving". Hamilton and his fans have really watered down this sport.
this is a clean dive unlike half of the ones max does
this is dumb fuckin take
