It's worth remembering that a lot of people Mother Teresa took care of in India were not actually Christian and she was baptising people without their consent. So Freud's lines are actually fairly specific and not just general criticism of the Church.
Gratz on the over 100 likes
THANK YOU for thinking that titan is darwin and not santa or god! one of us! one of us! one of us!
oh and also that sounds like a pretty dickish move what she did, niether of the 2 i particualy like / see as really good person (both have fucked up things with them (well so does most people but them more than others))
Thank you for this info because I had only heard the name mother Teresa before and I had no idea what she was about other than she was supposedly a saint so thank you for this small bit of info.
And, the care that she gave them wasnt even that good, I mean who doesnt separate people who suffer from tuberculosis from the other sick. Basically she just did it to earn money and tried to save as much money as possible on everything.
TitanDarwin she did a lot worse things than baptizing which doesn’t really mean that much unless you actually believe anyways. So if they didn’t understand that she was baptizing them then it may be technically unethical but wouldn’t actually affect their lives in any meaningful way.
Freud won. He hit very hard with the small lines he had while mother teresa had good bars and hit decently hard but not as much. They also missed a couple lines like the last one when he said " our time is up teresa" implying this was a therapy session.🤣
I respectfully disagree. Freud dissed the church the most. All he really said about her is "you're ugly". Teresa hit his personality, his life, and his legacy. If this was Freud Vs the Pope, Freud stomps. But Teresa struck ever aspect of his life.
@@captainbirch9835 I mean she struct cocaine addiction, Nobel peace prize nomination fails, mom sex complex, and that's about it. The rest of her lines is that Freud was dirty. She had better flow but Freud said things like " battling a communion wafer" means your bland and not impressive, said her charity vow was redundant, worst sister act since whoopi goldberg(hit hard),"seen better care from organic vegetables" and then the line I mentioned at the end. Teresa just had a but more to say but that's about it. He also dissed the catholic church and there evil ways with the " hid your true feelings like it was other peoples money" implying she was a scam and so was the catholic church and there exploitation of people. It was a good battle but Freud nailed harder with what he had.
@Rias Gremory fair enough, lol forgot it was called that lmao
@@ilanxtreme Actually is called Oedipus Complex. And is one important part about his theory about the Psychic Apparatus.
@@TheDiazDarkness oh lol I though it was something different than that. Got it, good to know.
If you know both of them, you know that Sigmund destroyed her
I know both of them, but Teresa destroyed
@@gr33nriver77 very true
@@gr33nriver77 Very very true
@@gr33nriver77 please explain Freud's bars then and what makes it weaker than MT's
@Elvin Ostrup try again.
I don’t know how true it was, but it was said that shortly after she died and they were talking about making Mother Teresa a Saint, that a bunch of the nuns came out against the idea.
They said that she was an absolutely horrible person to work with, very rude and disgusting to be around. They also said that she struck a couple of the nuns, as in punched them, and even brought a few of them to tears with how much she yelled at them. And that she had a couple of enforcers who were just as evil as she was. And finally, any donations and the like were used on Mother Teresa herself, with the barest minimum going to the people she was actually supposed to be helping.
But, if there were cameras around her filming, she would flip the switch and look like she was the nicest person in the world. And she always made sure that if she was being filmed, that none of the other nuns that were helping out were around so it would look like she was doing all the work herself. And if they wanted other nuns on the film with her, it was always her enforcers.
But, like I said, I don’t know how true any of this stuff actually is.
it is very true, she was actually very horrible. if you read what went on during her hospitals....its disgusting. They were baptising dead bodies. alot of people died in those hospitals because the medicine was just subpar, cheap, and they kept using religious doctrines rather than medical doctrines.
There's also the fact that she actively lied when talking about where donor's money were going.
A lot has been and is being discussed about priests, but very little is spoken about nuns and the way some abuse those under their care, including other nuns below their rank.
There are actually dozens of people who worked with her or came into contact with her that give testimony like this; one that irks me _a lot_ is knowing that when people were given procedures (a rare occasion but sometimes they did do it), the patients wouldn't receive any anesthesia, just being told that the pain was good for them.
It’s already been proven. A multitude of nuns that worked with her (briefly I might add) came out against her. They said that she was nothing like what most people believe nuns are supposed to be like. What I posted above is only a small part on what has been documented about her.
@@DarkAngel40 I mean if there's multiple nuns saying that, there's the nuns who would be her 'enforcers', (not saying they're not called that, just that it's their name for them). So it would be group of nuns vs group of nuns, which is hardly a proven point.
Does anyone really note that she was born in 1910, and expect her to be following ethics of today? I'm not saying it's wrong, but you cant hold everything to modern standards.
And she already is a saint so
I feel like Freud won but it was a close one, also i think you guys missed alot of Freuds lines.
They were Freudian slipping!
They missed her best line too
Freud definitely won
You can tell, her lines were more obvious in meaning so they laughed, but when his lines came they were very quiet. Definitely went over their heads.
ALL reactors I've seen miss a whole bunch of Freud's disses. I'm especially surprised at how no one seems to get the "our time is up Teresa" line, when it's one of the biggest psychotherapy tropes there is.
Freud had better lines
@LegoGuy87 yea MT won the rap, freud won the battle.
Freud was mainly digging in on religion as a whole. Teresa had more clever punchlines that kept coming nonstop
@@wellteknically nope. He also mocked religion and showed how Teresa misused the funds she had received for her charity and many more stuff

Interesting what you said about Hitchens. What makes you think his reputation has been torn apart? He's still respected as a journalist and political writer and commentator. He conceded in an interview that the book and subsequent documentary about Teresa were not intended to be balanced, but claimed that they had to be strident in order to break through the cynical cult of personality the church had built around her. There's enough eye witness testimony, including from nuns who worked with her, to support Hitchens claims against her, including that she was a deeply unpleasant person to work with.
DAWWW, we recently got a Pit-mix too, we're not sure about the other parts but he might be part Dalmation and/or Great dane, so he's gonna get big. His name is Pancho
There's quite a lot to say about Freud and it's pretty easy to simply dismiss him as a quack. A great deal of the things he proposed (the Oedipus Complex, the castration complex, an emphasis on sex drive, sitting on a couch and talking about your past can fix literally anything) were deeply flawed. He was also kind of a dick to other thinkers (Jung included) and really didn't appreciate them exploring any theories beyond the ones he would come up with.
That said, he really was the father of psychoanalysis. He did wonders to legitimize psychotherapy and was one of (if not THE) first people to drag the idea of sex out the taboo to be seriously discussed. A lot of the research he did is still valid today if you run it through a more modern filter.
The guy was smart and he understood people better than most, but he was also a bit of a narrow-minded jerk with some out-there theories. Pop culture was not kind to him.
The guy had numerous female patients who had been sexually assaulted by their fathers. When he reported his findings, he got attacked for claiming that these 'upstanding gentlemen' would dare do something like that to their daughters. He caved and changed his report, creating the theory that these girls secretly wanted it.
@@SentaiYamaneko Now this is really interesting, I didn't know that. If that's true then it does kind of explain why he went so deep on these theories that weren't very credible. I wonder how much of it was what he actually believed versus how much was cuz of political pressure.
0:35 DOGGOOOOO 1:20 the freaking demonetization censor 3:04 figured that may be the "special guest"
man i don't know who i go with in this fight i loved teresa's verses more but i think Freud had a few stronger lines.
Came for the reaction, stayed for the doggo.
Many people say MT won because of her flow (which was good) but Sigmund was so calculated in his attack and treated the battle like a therapy session- He won, HANDS 🙌 DOWN
Literally just spent the whole time watching the doggo and wanting to pet it.
Freud won that by a LANDSLIDE

For the people who stuck around for the post-battle discussion:
Aspergers doesn't exist anymore as a diagnosis. It was literally scratch for a lack of scientific evidence and a to strong varience of the actual symptoms.
(some people still associate with aspergers, but officially you can no longer be diagnosed with aspergers and for VERY GOOD REASONS)
In all honesty ever allowing people to be diagnosed with aspergers was a mistake.

Dude, you talked over some of the best lines.
Sigmund bodied her, her hardest shot was about him focusing on sex but he fully dragged her for being fake, stealing money, letting people die horribly and being a hypocrite. Like dang, she needed to come harder lol.

this is worth watching just for that handsome doggo!
Oblongs. What a throwback.
I think the mum thing is like a generalisation. ofc there are some men who are attracted to their mothers or people like their mothers but the gist of his theory is that of when males search for a proper life partner, they subconsciously check if they have qualities that their mother had whether that be emotionally, physically or even psychologically. Even some studies are proven scent as well. This is not case for everyone but it’s more common than you think. It’s a strange concept but it makes sense if you want to spend your life and have children with a person then who better then someone who reminds you of the woman who raised you, and in some cases, did a good job. It’s a rabbit hole.
Fun Fact: Mother Teresa was canonized as a Saint by the Catholic Church in 2018
The Doggo is adorable I have a Pit, Lab, Great Dane mix
That is such a cute puppy
What kind of drugs is the dog takin
Teresa had the better flow but Freud won the instant he called out Teresa's bullshit "care" for people.
Freud definitely won that.
Internet historian had released a new video
Bruh you guys clearly misinterpreted Freud. The Oedipus complex isn’t something anybody consciously yearns for, it’s a subconscious desire. The subconscious is unreachable but does exist
Indeed, this reductionist mythos of incest its the same as when Darwin got accused of saying we are the brothers of monkeys.

1:22 Best. Censor mark. Ever.
Was it really necesary to censure the dog?
I mean, I guess everyone's aloud to have their own opinion, but it surprises me that you guys all think Mother Teresa won..lol, she had more disses and and an amazing flow which sounded great, but Freud's burns hit a lot harder imo.
I can tell Teresa won.
Her punches were based on Freud’s perverted, sexually messed up life.
Freud’s punches were based on Hitchens’ book. Which NicePeter admits in the Behind the Scenes.
Teresa’s punches weren’t that great. But still more accurate and waaaay more hilarious in delivery.

The fact That just ending the battle You have to defend Teresa from things that have allready been proven and dissed Freud as a Pioneer in a new field of study... and also mislabled that the criticism that where particular to her were for the church demonstrated that Freud absolutly dominated
Did you guys skip over the Steve Irwin battle?

This was a one sided battle
For all those of you accusing mother Teresa of terrible things in the comments, please read this:
If you don't believe in God, it's hard to believe in good
The obsession some atheists have with Mother Teresa borders on the monomaniacal.
Even when I was an atheist I thought it quite absurd whenever comfortable first-world atheists would viciously attack a woman who gave up everything to serve the poor and who lived in abject poverty herself.
The idea that this selfless woman was actually a masochistic, self-obsessed lunatic, who loved to watch the poor suffer originated with Christopher Hitchens, largely considered the founder of the New Atheism movement. In fact, virtually every irrational and over-the-top criticism of Mother Teresa that I have read can be traced back to his obsessive hatred of the Albanian nun.
Hitchens has since passed away (please say a prayer for his soul), but unfortunately his pet theories have not; they pop up on Internet forums all the time.
As Mother Teresa’s canonization date approaches, it is likely that this nonsense will spread. Our era is addicted to shock and outrage, so headlines excoriating Mother Teresa will be irresistable, no matter how false.
With that in mind, here are some common charges atheists make to justify hating Mother Teresa, and some handy responses:
1. Mother Teresa’s Canonization Is a “Fraud”: Christopher Hitchens criticized Mother Teresa’s recognition by the Church because the Church sped up her beatification process. He also mocked the idea that a miracle could have come about through Mother Teresa’s intercession.
So? Hitchens was an atheist; would he be satisfied with any process that canonized Mother Teresa or any other saint? Did he believe in any of the miracles that have been attributed to the intercession of the saints, even those with abundant eyewitnesses, verifications by doctors, etc? The answer is no. So why would it matter to Hitchens (or any other atheist) how quickly Mother Teresa was canonized? Even if it were theoretically true that Mother Teresa was a terrible person, why would an atheist care who the Catholic Church canonizes?
2. Mother Teresa “Mismanaged Money”: Mother Teresa’s critics accuse her of mismanaging donations, and as evidence they point to the humble state of the congregation’s homes versus the large donations that are assumed to have been poured into their coffers. Yet no theory is advanced as to exactly how the foundress spent the organization’s money in an unethical way. She certainly did not spend it on herself.
Vatican officials confirm that Mother Teresa donated her congregation’s surplus money to be dispersed through the many avenues through which the Church helps the poor. In other words, she did not hoard the donations she received just for her order; she shared the wealth, which is in keeping with the mission of her organization. Mother Teresa and her sisters are called to minister in a simple way to the poorest of the poor, and if they have extra money it goes to other poor people. I am not sure why this is so offensive unless one is trying to find offense.
3. Mother Teresa’s Homes Are “Abusive”: Critics point to what they call deplorable conditions in the homes the sisters run - a charge that betrays how completely they misunderstand the Missionaries of Charity. The sisters join the poverty of the people they serve. Their mission is not to build state-of-the-art hospitals, or work for political or social change, which many Catholics do. They provide care for children and adults in the most desperate of situations, people who would otherwise be living and dying on the streets. The sisters themselves live in complete and utter poverty, sleeping on the floor and washing their one habit in buckets and drying them overnight.
This criticism often comes drenched in a mind-set of first-world privilege that has no idea what kind of conditions people experience in third-world countries. It also often comes from critics who don’t bother to spend any amount of prolonged time in these situations - more willing to “investigate” her homes than actually show up and work alongside the nuns.
Advertising
4. Mother Teresa Was a “Fanatic” Who Enjoyed Suffering: When people point to Mother Teresa’s “fanaticism,” they are usually actually pointing to her living out Christian values. Sure, she did this in an extreme, heroic fashion, but that is why she is a saint. Most of us could benefit from emulating, even slightly, her “fanaticism.” Critics who choose to see her remarks on the “gift” of suffering as a newfangled, masochistic theology only reveal a lack of familiarity with a basic Christian idea: that - as demonstrated by the God-man being unjustly tortured and crucified - God brings good from evil, and he is present in a special way among the weakest and the poorest of the poor.
Don’t like this message? It’s not Mother Teresa you have a problem with, it’s Christianity.
5. Mother Teresa Was “Imperfect”: Critics may disagree with Mother Teresa’s philosophies and actions, but none ever seem to point to concrete evidence of malicious intent on her part, and so the ad hominem arguments end with, “she wasn’t perfect!”
Well, of course Mother Teresa was imperfect. This we can all agree on, and I am sure the saint would concur. It is said that she went at least every week to confession. She was a woman who knew she was flawed and made mistakes.
Advertising
Canonized saints are not supposed to be cookie-cutter perfect. The lives of countless saints prove that canonization is not a stamp of perfection but a recognition of heroic holiness. And the Church believes Mother Teresa was a holy woman, despite her imperfections.
So why exactly is so much ink spilled in order to criticize Mother Teresa when there are far more unsavory characters in the world? The quest for pageviews and the gratification of blind ideology.
This kind of spiteful hatred comes from hearts that have been darkened to reason and evident goodness by a lack of belief in God.
Ethan Staubach This is a rap battle and of course they don’t mention everything. And I’ve met plenty of believes (Catholic or others) that agree that mother Theresa did some bad things, this isn’t about being an atheist or not. There are some atheist that are a bit obsessive in this issue, but that doesn’t mean she was a saint. In many ways she helped the poor when no one would, and even with me being an atheist I recognize that and agree she did good, but it is true that donations didn’t come up in the records of the institutions Mother Teresa created, with that money most likely having been taken by the church. The are also numerous reports of baptizing without people’s consent (when they were too ill to protest) just because the church cared more about souls than they did about the people’s suffering. Very little care was given, and when the church wanted to canonized, many catholic sisters spoke up against the bad things she did, it’s not only Hitchens.
My point just being that it’s possible to be an atheist and not be obsessive, and also be a believer and not deny some of the accusations made against her.
