Nice video capt, unlike most of the people on you tube that just post videos of themselves throwing a net and not showing the loading part.. Guess some people just like to see themselves on video !!
Many Thanks Capt. Engle for that it was very interesting as I have just bought a 12ft net and as I have never used one before I will look to your vid for lessons I am right Handed so will reverse the procedure and see how it go`s I live in Cornwall UK so its a first down here for me,ope I do not look a fool and mess up the cast but as they say every mistake is a learning curve,Many Thanks.
That is different form of throwing compared to any other method I have used or seen. I am most impressed that you throw the net while wearing that columbia fishing shirt (all those buttons :)). I now wear long sleeve t-shirts. Have you considered using a 20 gallon rope handle bucket (I used a foam swim noodle under the rim of bucket to float it) to submerg under the bucket, outside the boat, and empty the net net. You don't roll, squish, dammage the bait, and can hande net into bait tank.
i have asilly question ...as i saw the net is open from one side so why the fish cant scpe while u r pulling the net out of water .. why is seemed closed from every where
Really like this method. Sometimes the lower left quadrant doesn't fully open (quadrant closest to my left leg ) Any ideas. You don't mention what the left arm/hand should be doing. Does it stay with the right hand during the throw ?
The best video on this topic even though there are 100s out there.. Thanks for putting this together and sharing

Excellent instruction. Thanks for the video!
I am unsure what brand cast net Capt. Engle is using. But, the technique is universal with all brands and sizes. Thanks for the question.
Good job👍😄
