Don't want the chemicals of Clearly Coffee. Vinegar and a little Dawn soaking will get the carafe looking as good as new. Same thing for the Vortex head. A little vinegar on a Qtip or toothbrush and cleaning is done. I wipe with a microfiber cloth.

Ive had the same coffee pot for about 2 years now and my wife and I have both been noticing the coffee tasting bitter. I’m the dummy that didn’t bother to read the manual and ran the Clean cycle with only water. No, it makes no sense now… but for some reason it did at the time. I shined a light in the reservoir and the element looks very dirty and deposits baked on there
Anyway thanks for the video, I’m running vinegar through it now so we’ll see if it’s able to get that crud off. If no change I’ll try a stronger vinegar solution before I go buy a new machine. Thanks for the video!

Quick question: does the time on your clock fast? Mine runs about 8-10 seconds fast per minute so it doesn’t hold the proper time
Now that you mention it, it does seem a little fast, not sure how much but you might be onto something.

Can you use the same process for aBlk.n Decker pot that also grinds?
Yes, the coffee grinder portion is usually separate from the part that brews the coffee and the vinegar should not go into it. You can use the blue liquid to clean any coffee stains away, just be sure the rinse the blue chemical away wherever you use it. Let me know how it goes.
How do you recommend cleaning the actual brew head? I don’t believe it comes off but mine has all kinds of residue. I’m running the clean cycle now just not sure what to do about the brew bead.
Brew head cleaning can be tricky, Yeah they usually don't come off. The URNEX clearly coffee amzn.to/3ydcPwf works great but getting it on the brew head and letting it soak will be the issue. I have done it but it makes a mess. Put it on the brew head with an old toothbrush and keep the brew head wet by reapplying, then rinse it off after about 10 min. use lots of water and rinse the entire coffee maker lots. Make sure it is unplugged and run a clean pot of water thought it when you are all done. Let me know how it goes.
@@JustADad I used an old toothbrush with vinegar and it came perfectly clean, ran an extra couple pots of water and then brewed a fresh pot of coffee and it was delicious! Thank you for the suggestion and for making the tutorial video.

Do you mean coffee maker? This is a really nice coffee maker and it makes good coffee. Was there a price range you were thinking of?

@@SJ__Daily_Dose Lots of choices with that price. A bunn Coffee maker is about $100 and makes a nice coffee, Keurig's are also good too.

if you have hard water about every 4 to 5 months. if only use it a few times a week or have soft water then maybe every 7 months.
