Hey Korenn, first off thank you for sharing all your awesome stuff with us =) I've gotten the yuba/tofu skin but it has a very strong, almost chemical smell that resembles fish food. Is it normal, and does it go away when it's baked?
I honestly didn’t experience that with my purchase. I literally can’t take a fishy smell at all. Find a high quality Oriental market and grab it from the freezer section. It’s not suppose to smell like anything, mine smelled like frozen tofu
In the video, you mentioned that instead of the mushrooms, you used cabbage. How did that turn out? My hubby can't have mushrooms and I have been trying to find a substitute to try out one of your mock meat recipes for him.
Is this really taste like chicken (2:10)? Better than this (0:50) ? Because texture seems to be way better than the first one. I would like to do fried chicken.
very creative i liked watching the video but being a vegan i dont look to mimmic meat products enjoy the vegan tastes and looks although i do make some good loafs with seitan and legumes

Hi there, I have a question about the beancurd sheet. Do you wet this first? I’ve tried using it before and it didn’t really turn out very well so wondering if I did it wrong!
🤔 Did you use the frozen sheets? I did not wet it first, however I did cover the mock meat while it was cooking so the steam may have had an effect. But even before cooking it, th moistened rice paper cause a bit of tackiness that allowed the curd to cleave nicely.
+L. Rockett No they're not, but you can make this with just the rice paper and it will still come out delicious. Just be sure to wrap the roast in the pan tightly with foil so no steam escapes. Thank u for watching ;)
Hi Korenn, brilliant video ❤️ Quick Q: did you take the foil off at any point during the baking process? Because you mentioned the bean curd paper for crispy skin, then put the foil, did it crisp up with the foil on ? Did you remove the foil towards the end?

For sure online, I picked it up at my local oriental market for about 3 dollars The cabbage was really nice, it doesn't hold up like the mushrooms, and disintegrates in your mouth as you chew, but I enjoyed the soft contrast to the meaty textured seitan.
