This gives a realistic idea of how much work will need to be done to clear the debris. Imagine all the piles to be cleared. It’s going to be a massive job. Thanks to all who are working.
As I European I have been getting the impression that ,your federal government is actually trying to help ,giving initial emergency Funding to victims and that they can seek further funding to rebuild also.
There's 1000's of big straight pines that fell. A lot of it could be milled up for lumber. The branches chipped up into mulch. The mulch would be good to spread around to begin building soil back to help future growth of grass, shrubs and trees. Nothing's gonna grow in all that sand covering everything.
@@gwebocelestron9194 take your sawmill in there and mill it and stack it by the road for people to take what they need. or you just going to talk about it?
Awesome work all you. Quick thing. You can use the bucket on the track hoe to knock off the big root balls of those huge trees then pick them up and move them wherever instead of a guy risking injury on getting on the laying down tree and hoping that the tree doesn't stand up and toss his butt across the river. But live your videos. And live what you all are doing out there. God bless you all.
Do the good hard wood logs get saved to be milled to boards / planks ? I know this is a minor detail, that may be seen as a irrelevant side quest in the clean up and 15:27 the main focus is that the owners have lost there house and cars ,and helping them rebuild is the main thing.
yes, but alot of that stuff was still super wet and just really not good, or rotten. There's so many trees on the ground everywhere that this really isn't a concern right now
So what is that volvo called? Steam. Shovel? Jaws of destruction? My goodness, that giant Tonka toy is merciless. Makes my heart ache and my soul cry. G-d less the folkes who own that pile; G-d bless the volunteers.
That s 😅 funny, Take dog for a walk. Pull old semi truck trailer down the road I hopefully everyone's helping him out before he starts going down the road further this is a very brave job he's doing. 👏🏻 Great job!
Amazing the HEAVY EQUIPMENT CLEANUP is already on Sites to begin MINING just as soon as Clean-up is accomplished. The Water carved out the Super Roadway needed for Ingress and Egress access for Heavy Mining Equipment. Just as they planned Problem Reaction Solution PAYDAY NO MATTER HOW YOU LOOK AT IT FOR THE HEAVY EQUIPMENT.
Super curious how they go about cleaning this all up, but also frustrating to watch. Like what's the point in taking down a structure before cleaning up the huge amount of debris around it first. Just making the pile bigger. What's the point of moving a pile of debris 20 ft to the right just to make another pile. At first I thought he was trying to sort metal from tree debris, but then he just piled it all together. Then that utility trailer, a little mangled, but there were good wheels on it, maybe an axle, and square tubing that maybe someone could have repurposed. I see a lot of things that could be repurposed. Instead of just demolishing to haul off to a landfill, how about disassembling and repurposing items. I see some good lumber and roof metal that could be repuposed for sheds or chicken coups or other animal shelters. I betcha a lot of stuff will be left and just covered up. Anyone rebuilding will be doing so on a big old landfill. Stuff left underground for eons that people will have to deal with for decades when any sort of escavation and new build happens in the future. I hope people rebuilding there think this time about their foot print on earth. Build smaller, have less stuff. I know how rural country folk are because I live among them in my rural area. They're hoarders with too much junk packed in their houses and junk all around their property. They "collect" stuff. Most of it just junk. All this stuff just contributed to the massive debris piles every where.
It's easy to have an opinion without actually being on the ground in this area. Everything we're showing has been underwater for several days. All of the metal, all of the wood, everything. While something may look usable, it's most likely not, or its ruined in some way. That camper was twisted and kinked in every way. These people lost literally everything. What would be the use in saving an old camper wheel or axel? They need their homes back, not used moldy items to remind them of what they used to have.
its easy for all of of us to say this or that imagine the home owners watching what is left of what they had be torn to ground level . we need to be greatful for people like the excavating company goin in and trying their hardest to make it easier for these families to have some hope to rebuild. i went thru hurricane Michael and it was not near this catastrophic... it is true what looks salvagable in the videos really arent in person! thank you for removing the debris for the families!!! you are all amazing
Watching that kid operate the Volvo is pure poetry ♥️
Give him a raise!
Thank you for helping me western north Carolina GOD BLESS YOU
Glad to help. Wish we could do more.

Sure!
I really like the camera angles as well. Just curious, what's the weight threshold that you can pick up at once?

Hreat work guys! Side note, with the strength of the water, I am surprised the dolly legs looked intact.
Glad yas are doing well stay safe and glad yas can help others 😊
I have worked doing this type of clean up and after a while it gets to you because you are hauling somebody's live and dreams away.
It definitely wasn't easy mentally. Now all i want to do is go back and help more.

Thank you 😀
Should save the decent trees for firewood. I'm sure there's lots of people who could use it.
I'm surprised logging companies don't want it.
Too small for sawlogs, too big for pulpwood…

They've actively doing this there. But there's so much debris, it can't possibly all be saved.
Thank you so much
Of course!

Do you guys know where the semi originated from?
it was there on the property! it'd didn't go too far fortunately.
Couldn’t any of the trees that were cut up after the storm had blown it down been used for lumber to rebuild the houses destroyed
would like to see more videos like yours

Very interested in the 5 acre pond update please

We actually didn't make a penny from this. We went on volunteered time with volunteered equipment.
Amazing. Are you still working there? Today is 11/02
Not anymore no we returned last week.
Well we got good footage of the guys hat

He’s never done this before - next time we’ll just ask you to do it!
