Imagine if everyone had a small garden in/on their home. And you and your neighbors all grew different things. Then when it came time to harvest you could all trade w one another to get the best variety of fresh and healthy fruits/veggies. One could even be dedicated to raising chickens for the neighborhood so you also have fresh eggs and meat. You all know where your food comes from and you can control if you use any pesticides etc. You can even use the rain run off by saving it. Gee, it’s like there are easy alternatives but corporations need to feed the machine to maximize profits.
Farmers market
I know people that do this. They get together and can food as well. Plant a garden. Even if it's indoor by the South facing window in a pot. You can do it
@iwantmyslaw3967 not everyone has that option. Easy to learn to grow your own.
When I was growing up in the 1970's and 80's, everyone had a vegetable garden in their back yard. My grandparents did the same in the 1920's to 1950's. Everyone we knew grew either apples, choke cherries, rhubarb, or plums, as well.
so true
💕💞❤✔️vegan for 12 years . 62 years old and loving it. My husband says he lives with a chef.
I don't eat most of the ultra processed foods produced today. I want wholesome foods not synthetic garbage that is engineered to taste good. This was depressing to watch.
so true
I hope for a meat free future ⛔️
Increasing the size of my garden every spring and preserving more and more! If I want my food tweaked, I’ll do it. Get away from processed foods, let alone food that’s artificial…
so true
Most people don't read the labels on the products or they don't understand about the terms/ chemicals on the labels.
Just make less processed foods
😂
I just hope these healthy food trends will be available in more than expensive boutique markets (and I probably won't be taking granola from naked hikers) :)
We're working on it! Typically the roadblocks here are the high costs to small businesses going into large retailers. We've started by making our products available on Amazon.
"too many humans on Earth". Sounds like we found our next Bond villain.
We need a report like this on the @NewsHour #PBSNEWS
Healthy food beasts everything!!!
Mexican food is part of the Latin American cuisine.
Paw Paw, Michigan was named after the fruit that once grew in abundance along the Paw Paw River.
Maybe you meant this for the Pawpaw video? That was a good one.
Very interesting. Really good segment
Population is growth. Foods will be the problems ( shortage in supply ). We must do something about " food waste in America ".
Enough with the pumpkin spice! Who buys that crap?
Did I see a deep fried Twinkie?? ‘Murica 🤦🏻♂️
Imagine the pitch to ceos to sell TRUCK NUTS 😂😂
So much of our eating habits is due to clever marketing. Even orange juice for breakfast was once a marketing campaign. I think this piece is more about marketing that the food. Though, give me real eggs, please. Though she's not wrong about the population issue. Or on the increasing pavement over good farmland. This piece made me think about Soylent Green more than anything. Great marketing there too!
They can definitely STOP making new pumpkin spice stuff. Also this is sad and scary. I wish we all had access to real food or could grow our own. I’m glad I’m not having children
These are the people who are going to make insects palatable for your consumption.
Make the world healthier remove processed foods and no meat
My friend has chickens - ill always have eggs. No fake eggs thank you.
Zero meat, lots of keto and vegan.
I guess the Avocado Toast fad has disappeared.
The sad thing is that eggs are a perfect protein and some have chickens out of cultural and/ or financial reasons. This is a remarkably privileged piece. Most couldn’t afford this over processed pseudo food
And yet, many of the food stories on this show are about foods high in fat and sugar.
We evolved into omnivores, as a result our human digestive system is shorter because of meat eaters! More bang for the buck! And no need for the massive jaw’s chimpanzees need for mastication!
When are we gonna learn that those are all highly processed foods and as such can by no means be good for you.
Come on now. If you ask most Americans what their favorite food is, Chinese and Mexican are going to be their top 5 favorite if not top 2.
I'm an Independent Latino. 3:36 Gross. 3:52 I don't understand what this lady protecting her career is saying. Copious killings are happening today in 2023, war and especially here in Chicago. No Bueno.....To bad companies are not Transparent due to being faithful to their Shareholders.
Meanwhile while everyone is waiting
Wendy’s has a Wednesday special
Free 6 piece chicken nuggets
Most people want healthy food choices
But they want the convenience of getting it fast and affordable
Just doesn’t work
Unless you choose to change your lifestyle
I do have a problem cooking ahead, but I continue to work at it.
Thanks for including is in this segment CBS and @nielseniq3851. We think adding more mushrooms to your diet is here to stay.
all this "food" looked gross; sticking to real eggs, whole milk, gluten...in moderation with daily exercis
Do not like eggs😮
Keto empenadas, fake eggs... no thanks!
Thank God I don't follow trend's
Seaweed chips? Are we really getting this desperate for food?! Really scraping the bottom of the barrel!!!
Who pays the salaries of these television reporters? Answer: the medical corporations that pay 💰 the hefty costs for their advertisements. Watch these television broadcasts the majority (like 99%) of their advertisements come from medical companies for pharmaceutical products or Cancer Research Associates. That’s how Americans then fund their houses, poor food choices (lol😂), vacation, finally last but not least “health care.”
Our population is going down not up
