    Did this when my wife went to the bathroom. When she came back a few minutes later, she asked where the wall came from. I pretended it was always there. She said she clearly remembered no wall being there since we moved in, right after we were married. I told her we weren't married, and my name wasn't Robert. She had a panic attack, but the prank was worth it ... thanks for the 30 second build instruction

    If this partition isn't temporary, you don't want that drywall seam lining up with the corner of your doorway. Over time, the shutting of the door will cause the paint/mud to crack there.

      It is not hard to do it, those plates are of gypsum, so easy to go trough it.

    • @theheatingdoctor
      @theheatingdoctor 6 років тому +1

      You'd wanna use screws to secure the frame to the wall. If possible you could find a stud partition vertical in the wall you are connecting to and fix to that. You could also use gypsum screws allowing a secure fix to the plaster board, however it is recommended to fix to other materials instead where possible.
      You are able to secure the frame straight on to masonry using special 100mm + screws that cut into masonry and pulls the frame tight too it. Great in situations where you want to extend an internal wall of an extension, where you would be attaching the stud wall to masonry (as an example).

      Green blocks are glass or stone wool that make thermal and voice isation between two rooms. And if you think what is that line between two plates, it is just to cover the line between two plates to nake wall look soft and clean.

    • @The3Shogun

      Thin tape between the boards to cover the gap.

    • @eddiewyc2175
      @eddiewyc2175 5 років тому +1

      “Green stuff” is insulation and the line is the join between the two sheets of plasterboard. You’re meant to use scrim tape on the joints before you plaster to prevent any cracking etc.

      You could always fill the holes with putty, sand & stain to match the finish.
      Even if by some magical Miracle you could do this without nails or screws, the weight of the wood would still mar or scratch the finish and you would still need to sand and stain the floors again once the wall is removed

      Those are drywall boards, attached with screws to the frame.
      Before you apply plaster (if you're planning to build a wall yourself) coat it in white wash and allow to dry, attach the tape on the seams and then start the plastering process.
