- I go to New York Safety Track (NYST) for my first motorcycle track day experience. NYST is located about 3 hours away from NYC. I rented a Kawasaki Ninja 400 for my first track day experience, along with all the required track gear (track suit, track boots, gauntlet track gloves). A great day for learning and improving my riding.

Have you done a motorcycle track day yet?
Do you have to have your endorsement to do a trackday? Thanks
@@iancree4188 yes, you need a motorcycle endorsement for the track
Honestly, I'd love to.. but the waking up early, finding a ride, renting a bike, renting leathers, then spending hours listening to rules, lectures, blah blahs, only then be told that i can ride with a bunch of other novice riders.. sounds way more expensive, time consuming, and downright boring compared to throwing on some street gear, driving 10 minutes to the interstate or any of the massive 200mph+ bridges/causeways within spitting distance. It's also the cost of a tank of gas
if you're only concerned about speed then it's the highways for you.. the track is for those who are interested in the technical side of riding
Love that, "Tires are still cold" yeah they're staying cold too 🤣
I recognize this track.... this is where the killacam and his girl go
AYEEE :D
Great vid. Pretty sure this may be the first track day video I have watched in this format, where someone rolls up and rents everything. Smart too. You can tell you are way more comfortable going left than you are right. Was the exact same for me. Be safe. Have fun.
Yo I am going on my first track day this weekend and your video was the first one that I was able to relate to in terms of how I would think while riding a motorcycle. I motovlog too but on a Harley, so for me to try a track is friggen scary as hell but imma do it because it has been a bucket list for me. Have my sub bro! cheers
You’re going to love it bro. It’s a real game changer and will improve your riding. Have fun!
Can’t wait for my first track day.
cant wait to bring my r6 to first track day this summer!!! so stoked!!
Hi I enjoyed that , got my first day in March in uk
One small suggestion - lower your clutch lever down so you don't have to lift your fingers up and over every time you shift. It will be much more comfortable and quicker. Your brake lever is already in good position 😉 so just match clutch with brake.
u sounded normal... nerves af lol... yea boy.. killing it
I saw the thumbnail and knew it was nyst
4:59 such a beautiful sound. ❤
Awesome riding bro
thanks bro, so much to learn
One thing I learned even though I’m in front the rider behind is responsible for you, however, be considerate and don’t just switch lane positions, the bike behind is anticipating your movement, keep it smooth, talking from experience.
Wait up, that was me on the r6 missing my shift lol
Awesome advice to rent it all before financially committing
will you be going again? i’m definitely following your progression, looking to get into track days this year
Yes, I definitely plan to go again and to continue learning. I will be bringing my R6 the next go round and will make a follow up video. Good to hear you are getting into track as well!
Nice vid!
thanks!
@@illproducer np dude!
I don't have a motorcycle yet but really would love to race one day. But I was wondering, just how much can be repaired on a bike? We used to have racing insurance in the Netherlands but that got discontinued unfortunately. I don't mind repairing and paying for the damage but how quickly is a motorcycle totalled? From crash videos I noticed it can get pretty damaged relatively quickly but I just don't know wich parts can be repaired/replaced before its totalled? Kinda not want to buy a new bike just in case I crash on a track wich probably will happen eventually😂
Did you figure this out? I'm interested!
Hey man, can you give me a description of how much you ended up spending on the whole experience?
Also do they have instructors who check your body positions and stuff?
Hey Saad, the track day itself was $200 for admission but I got a discount, full gear rental is $80 and I think the bike rental was $300 so pretty pricey. At this track day there were instructors where you can ask them to follow you and give tips on optimal racing line and braking zones
Would you consider taking your 300 there next time ?
THose Ninja 400 were excelent to learn the ride and enjoy the experiance the same time. Emissions or other crap killed it as I don't see it in production any more.
This looks like it's the same track KilaCam goes to
is that macan? nice ride 👍
Yes sir, it’s a Macan
I enjoyed the video man...how much do you feel you learned from this experience?
Thanks for watching. I learned a lot from my first track day. I definitely recommend anyone to go to a track day to improve their riding for sure. I will probably make a video on the subject.
🔥
THE KILLACAM WATCHED YOUR VID BRO 😂 LOOK AT MY OTHER COMMENT
How much did it cost to get everything?
$500 for everything comes with track day, coach, ninja 400, fuel and full gear except a helmet.
Kids what did we learn? NEVER TAKE OFF YOUR MIRRORS!
Damn they got a beat ass 400 oh hell Na
Lol, I know right
Yo is that @kilacam
Fucking awesome!
They should do a beginners race for you guys!
bike looks like ass 😂😂😂😂😂😂
