Hello, I’m Joe - I’m a guitar player, singer-songwriter, producer, recording engineer and teacher!
On this channel you’ll find my original songs, covers and solo fingerstyle guitar arrangements. My favorite music doesn’t fit neatly in a box so you may hear me play folk, blues, jazz, & classic rock - you can call it what you want; I feel honored to speak this timeless language of melody, harmony & rhythm.
I was born on May 25th 1991 in Kempsey, NSW, Australia. Since 2010 I have been based in the US and currently live in the Rocky Mountains of Montana with my wife, Genevieve (who teaches illustration on UA-cam!).
I play Maton acoustic guitars, made in Australia (just like me) and am very proud to have my own signature instrument, the JR Signature!

You are a joy to watch and inspire my fingerstyle journey. It is so much fun to be able to play in some type of auto pilot and have a 10 gear transmission or more on piano and now trying to do the same with fingerstyle guitar . The loving the journey as well as the process is the key. You Joe have taken and are hopefully gonna be on your journey a long Time at a young age. All the best to you.

I am very surprised with how fast I was able to pick up the opening little turnaround. I have been getting alot better lately and I think it's just because I am playing songs that I like alot more. But I didn't expect to be able to get that riff so fast, I thought I would try and learn it to challenge myself but it was instead very fun and enjoyable. Thanks for the tutorial!

I remember once asking a brilliant programmer who taught me so much, “Aren’t you afraid that by showing people how you do this you will talk yourself out of a job?” He said, “No. You’re the only one who has learned a thing.” Well, here, with Joe Robinson, I get it, just can’t do it!” With programming it’s all in your head. You can hunt and peck the code. I can hit the notes and form the chords but I’m not fluid. I even play this tune in G and I figured it out 45 years ago and I don’t play it badly. But not predictably and not nearly as effortlessly. Or musically. At best it sounds like a player piano. Stiff. Tense. Oh well… Maybe next life! It’s just good that there are people who are going to carry the torch for this kind of music.

I sing this song( I can sing a lot of styles fr folk country rock to classical y gospel hymns etc Spanish Italian Filipino classic y pop lol true)this simple song but maybe learning this as he initially demoed i will perhaps stick to singing with simple chord progressions…
