Me too prospector, me too. I'm nasty with the stalk and ambush, but the straight Chad fights I stand maybe a 30% chance of survival in a 1 on 1. If I can ambush the 1st in a duo, it seems to increase chances of killing 2nd guy (maybe a mental thing on both sides with me pumped from the kill and him hearing his buddy bitch about dying)
I always approach with I’m friendly. Lots of good fun when the other player says they’re friendly.
@@dillpickle1308 I did that too and 3 times in the same day they ask if I have eggs/shardslicer/something, I say let me check and kill me as soon as I go in my inventory. Now you can be friendly, but if you get near me, your dead. No questions asked
Man I have been absolutely engrossed by this game since I discovered it about a month ago but I was shook when I got out of the first bucket (where everyone was chill and would talk) to the bucket where all day every day is kill on sight. The advice in this video helps me feel confident in my ability to actually be able to progress enjoyably in the game. I suspected the title of the video would be a bit click baity, but I dig! So grateful for this perspective.

I permanently lowered my MMR by not playing anymore. It was fun for a bit, but sneaking around trying to escape with a few scraps got old pretty quickly.
Great job, whatever makes the game more accessible to new players. I am desperately trying to get people to play this game so it does not die 😅
So sad that i run the game on a level that monsters are fun but i have no chance in a pvp with my poor potato. Scavenging is fun and finding others in the wild who don't just shoot you is amazing!

If you also do a great run, you can just for the price of 2 minutes, do 10 suicide knife runs, wearing nothing. This will also permenantly tank your MMR greatly to the point you'll never once see cheaters.
Drop in with a knife, immediately exit to station. (You don't even need wait for the drop pod to fully drop). This still counts as a loss, and a run as far as the MMR is concerned, and that means you died, and extracted with 0 loot.
Takes less than 2 minutes to do 10 of them, and that massively lowers your natural loot per run MMR.

I've played like this for a while now and can confirm it made the game a much more enjoyable experience. I tanked my average k marks from about 16k to around 6k while making more money than ever. The player base is also very friendly down here and in general can't shoot of you still wanna pvp. Would highly recommend playing this way 👍

I have almost 3M K-marks, so I can already buy whatever I want so I see no point in mining focus crystals, titan etc. for even more K-marks unless they are needed for a mission/job/quarters.

I’ve been stunting my mmr for about a week and it has really helped me enjoy the game more haha
I really needed this guide. I was supposed to deliver biological samplers to the swamp dead drop. My first drop was at waterfalls and I decided to cut through base camp. At the base camp I encountered a duo one with green gear and a manticore. other one with blue gear and a phasic. I was trapped in the luggage room. I tried to talk to them but I got no response. So I charged into battle killed the one with the phasic but that act exhausted the ammo in my gun and his friend gunned me down. My second attempt is even more frustrating. I landed near abandoned mine. When I got to the small stream near parking lot evac I took a head shot from a boltie. So I jumped into the river and tried to heal. But he had a friend and he naded me to oblivion. Then I decided I had enough for the day.
When you have a task that is literally on the other side of the map, your survivability will increase if you just head straight to your closest extract and reset and try again for a closer spawn.
That's really frustrating and I know the feeling all to well. Maybe we can join forces one day and duo some missions. Best of luck either way !
This game has made my stress and depression levels go through the roof. I personally love scavenging and can't exactly stop looting whatever I find/see , and always can't seem to stop as I'm afraid i'd lose out on better loot. The first few days were ok , I died probably 1/10 raids . However , Now I can't even go through base camp without dying or when I'm heading to an EVAC spot , there is ALWAYS someone there that will outgun me. It's like people are shooting me in places I can't even see them but they can.
cheaters are a big thing in this game too

I would add that cheaters do show up in lower MMR as they get banned and make new accounts as they climb back up before the next ban.
They sure do. Or they just play in low MMR because they don't have any need to loot the players they are killing.

I don't normally do this but I couldn't help but make this comment. I just started playing the latest wipe. Did tutorial yesterday and since I've played 5 games total. Focused primarily on task loot. Maybe some extra loot but not enough to make big money off of and mostly loot required for future missions. This last raid I ran I came across a guy with a maelstrom and oddly enough I found a heavy backpack on the ground and in it it has an advocate, 20 or so blue syringes a blue kit and some other odds and ends that, in my opinion, shouldn't have been in the match that I was in considering the time of play and the value of said raids. The mmr blows my mind in this game. I work too much to invest a lot of time into these games. Hence why I left tarkov to play a more casual high risk high reward game. Idk how long this wipe has gone on for but I'm still sure that what I saw in this last match should not have even been present. Oh well. Thanks for the video
😍 The Developers can say whatever they want, it's pretty to me, every time I drop full Gear Up, I don't survive more than a couple minutes, but when I drop Nke'd with only my knife and a backpack, I Ioot the whole planet without any problem, to the point that's my favorite way to drop. That's a reason why people believe this and because you can experience it.
This happens to me too! I started doing backpack/knife runs for fun....but it actually works out pretty good for me most of the time. Don't know if it's coincidence or what...
I've noticed the last two raids that there were some pretty good players using blues and purples killing me. I'm pretty sure it just placed me in a higher bracket due to my successful past raids.
Yeah, i was semi-successful in season 1, got 1.1 mil saved and then i didnt play season 2 almost at all (lvl 8 ,6 and 5 traders rn) and i tried playing with a mate and every fight is with duo / trio running blue, mostly purple gear and it sucks as the best i can buy is a guarantee at this point and defo no afford purple armour... Not a fun experience for sure
"incredible job battling cheaters"- gave me a good chuckle, at my mmr i get cheater every 3-4 games, so propably will do your method and lower it a bit to not see them so often, but then isnt it like you play demo version of the game if you have to play this way?

This is basically the way I started playing from the start. I called it "pro progress" mindset. Always try to come out of a raid with something to show for it. So when I had what I deemed as "enough" I evaced. I understand why people would want to load up their bag but I don't understand being upset getting killed AFTER having an opportunity to evac.
Take what you need and nothing more? Sounds like a principle for life.
Even tho the Devs said the dropin loadout does not matter for your MMR, im 99% convinced it does. As soon as i load up with arbites and brutes to do drills my lobby ia filled with high gear people and obv 10 cheaters. When i run around blue gear phasic im only matching white green gears with manticores. My Average KMark is 30k
Lowered my MMR today, still dying to blatant cheaters. Guess ill have to wait til season 2 for them to MAYBE solve the issue. Pretty lame.
Legit madness to me that you guys are not only still playing this, but people are still buying skins, aurum, and rmt. This game is DOA. How are people just cool with tanking mmr to avoid cheaters, even the top streamers do it. Like that's what gamers do now, just eat garbage and ask for more? After I died to getting stuck in some roots, to cheaters, and teleporting mobs I just uninstalled.

cheaters/sweats cheesing mmr/lack of new players in general the game really is DOA.
Kick back and relax, ive always had a problem with this argument. It is pvpve so that is not really the intent of it to begin with verses a sandbox type game. Then, when would new and below average players get to kick back and relax if there wasn’t mmr. As an average player i have seen both sides of this game experience.
20hrs and I’ve only killed 3 people, now im getting nuked and beamed by epic pistol chads😢 i was wondering why my loot runs seem so much more populated and risky, it was because i would fill up before extraction. Now im gonna redownload and try getting what i need only

I'm just saying... as someone with like a 6,500Kmarks average voip is not a thing. I actively want to raise my mmr because dear God I'm annoyed that in my past 30 raids, I have had no voice interaction... aside from people using the in game prospector chats... I just want to hear someone

saw people in steam forum saying that it also lowers your MMR when you enter a game and just hit escape and leave to station. is that true? cause then you left and wasnt killed by anything

I’m pretty sure though that the devs said your MMR is also based on your extraction percentage.
So while your Kmarks extraction value could be low, if you’re getting out successfully like 90% of the time, I think it’ll match you up to players who are similar in that regard also.
Still a good way to lower your MMR though!
For everything that I tested, I would disagree with this. I was doing exactly what I talked about in the video, with a similar evac percent, and my MMR was without question dropped to the lowest bucket.

I watched the interview Player 2 did with the creative director - not sure if that was his exact title - and I thought he said that was also in the composition.
It was a while ago the interview was though so I could very well be remembering it wrong.
I hope in Season 2 they get rid of some of the terrible jobs though. Ones like stashing a rare shield in a drop just is not worth it 😂
after 50 games of only picking up one item and extracting or dying with no gear at all my average k marks pr run is 7200 and i still get killed by teams or single players in blue and purple gear this dosnt work its all random

I hardly make 10k per run survived amd run into 3 man's with purple wep and armor all the time when duo queuing it kinda blows and feels like mmr isn't legit.
When running Duo and Trio its always going to be a bit sweaty. However, I think if all members of the team were low MMR then it wouldn't be nearly as bad.
I need to lower my MMR because mine is at a point where I get in solo and have to fight duo squads. Not fun!
Sold all my stuff to traders last night got sick of running into people in exotics while I'm rocking my best green stuff I'm done with the game that ruined it for me and others I know
Low MMR is where people VOIP? I don't know about that chief. I've only spoken to someone like 3 times in 50 hours at my sad-sack MMR. I've always heard there's more of that at high MMR on Crescent Falls.
Any idea if much of this changed with Season 2's drop?
They haven’t verbally stated any changes to the buckets, but they have recently made changes to other aspects of the game that were never in any patch notes. So it’s possible, but as a solo player in bucket 2 it feels the same

If you're on High MMR in SEA server, just die to a cheater in Crescent Falls. That works too.
And this is why MMR simply doesn't belong in an extraction looter-shooter game. There are so many different way to play the game that gauging MMR based on any value is pointless.
A key part of these games is bringing in good gear that you have grinded towards and feeling the edge it gives you over your opponent. Without cheesing MMR though, grinding to get better gear will simply result in all others also having better gear, since you will be put in lobbies with people who farm money too. Why bother then?
I feel like the two statements you make are contradictory for most below average players (like me). If there is no MMR, there is even less incentive to go out and lose your expensive kit. With MMR I can at least try to get few runs out of each equipment.
Personally I will stop Cycle the day MMR disappears. Just figured I'd provide another perspective that all you chads and sweat lords don't necessarily think of.
Tbh I like mmr in this case because newer players would just get absolutely destroyed and the game would die off completely.
@@Snaques Oh, I'm not a chad, I am absolutely trash at PvP in this game. I have never held a pink weapon, and 90% of my runs are with white or green gear.
Right now, most of the time I get shit on. And that's understandable, since I'm bad. It would have happened without MMR too. I have just started to win SOME fights against extremely low skilled players. The problem is, at some point the game will throw me into a higher bucket and I will lose the feeling of getting better at the game.
No-lifers are SUPPOSED to smash lower-skilled players' skulls in. They are good at the game, so it's only natural.
Now, I would certainly agree with having a level-locked bucket for new players, so that they get to learn the game a bit without people with 1000s of hours punishing their every mistake. But splitting players based on their skill, let alone based on their wealth in game, is not the solution.

I don't understand where you get that chads are SUPPOSED to be killing knife runners and white geared people all day long (because that is what would happen). You don't match UFC fighters with newcomers either. Not worth their time for either.

low MMR does mean less cheater, but that's for regions outside Asia only.

cheaters destroyed the game..today alone i died 3 times in a row from bloody cheaters..they force me to land with white loadout and low lvl guns just to not give them the satisfaction of good loot...btw all of them rage hackin,blasting me with lacerators through walls..
I wish there was a PVE way to play the game with your friends only. Because there are times I want to Uninstal when doing knife runs because I'm out of gear and then get clapped by some pimple faced neck beard chad who just lives for pvp lol

the only reason people reducing their mmr is because they dont want to lose to cheater all the time at high MMR lol, but if you reduce mmr so that you can kill noobs with your purple gear then you are just a bad player lol.
At the moment there is no MMR system. You get matched for your group size, 5k k-mark andys come up against 50k k mark dudes regulary. Atm there is no point in playing cycle as a FPS beginner unfortunetly.

Cheesing your mmr is the issue for the game, because you reference players wanting to have a relax run,but come on i have not yet met any who drop their mmr to just have chill runs. the ones i find who have dropped their mmr are just to go in with full on exotic gear and spawn camp to fulfill their ego. also ruining the game for new comers as they cant do anything against them, MMR should take in to consideration what gear you take in. not what you leave with, that way those who want to "have chilled knife runs" can do in noob gear giving newer players a good fighting chance.
I dropped my MMR and literally sherpa'd new players for a day and loved every minute of it. I agree that it would be better if loadout was a percentage towards your MMR evaluation before dropping in. Anyone going in with Exotics in a lower MMR bucket is just griefing, straight up. I would also stand by my method as not cheesing since you are actively progressing and completeing in game campaigns / jobs as you stay in lower MMR lobbies.
@@Phixate The purpose of you using this method isn't cheesing. But when blue+gear and brutes are killing bucket 1 fresh spawns then there is a problem and your method probably isn't being used in the way you intend.
mmr is sh1t..lvl 3 here solo and the game throws at me duos or trios with pink/red players.. just dropped the game after like 10 matches because of that

If they wanna go with bucket system they need to calculate the whole stash value to it too and create like 25 ranks instead of 4 ...in 5 days i went from zero to 200k and back to zero cause I was playing duos instead solos and that placed us to third bucket instead second where we belong 😂 doesn't matter what you try if you miss start of season by more than a week don't even start
this idea / system sucks..and is dog for lower end to bad players like me..i run around in green/ sometimes blue gear im not great i die 8/10 drops and yet i am CONSTANTLY being killed by players i purple and red gear.. i personally stopped playing because of this MMR system..its soo bad you just go in hatchet run a couple times die intentionally then get fully kitted in maxed out shit then come into noob lobbys like mine and DOMINATE the entier lobby and extract with like 200k or some crap..really wish people wouldnt have made these things known it ruined the game for alot of us bad players/those who just dont have the 500 hours to get good
So ... Stick to minimal scavenging and be less efficient on purpose
If you are a Solo player its now basically the equivalent of playing without MMR. Because the thresehold for Bucket 1 is so low, most players are into Bucket 2 after just 2 or 3 raids. This puts around 95% of the Solo player base into Bucket 2 and thus you could run into White Armor or Exotic Armor... No MMR :)

This system is so dogshit. I was helping a new player through a mission on discord and he was streaming. It's his 5th game he says and some neckbeard with blue armor and a brute killed him. Nice match making system.
