Thank you. I had an aftermarket headlight on one side that had a different metal clip. Kind of triangle shaped. With only one hold down. I was able to secure the retainer in place and just kind of bend the clip a little bit to get the LED to fit in and lock, and then I rotated it with the wire pointing downwards at 6 o clock
@@FloridaVanMan watched it a few times. Thanks. So basically aftermarket headlight manufacturers, including the hid headlights, are probably not going to be good enough. I recently put in LEDs and now I see why you recommend them with the hella OEM headlight housings.
Improper resistance in the tail light circuits will crash the CAN-bus network and illuminate 3 or 4 lights on the dash, disable cruise control and anti-lock brakes.
Are those white knobs the manual up/left and left/right adjustments? One of my headlights is very low, and I’m having trouble figuring out why? Thanks, you guys are the best!
Sorry for the dumb question, but can I use my existing headlights and just replace the bulb to LEDs? Not sure if you had to buy aftermarket lights inorder to use LEDS thanks
Yes and no. It will work and your headlights will glow, BUT the reflector in the back of your headlight and the bumpy lens at the front are designed for a spherical glowing bulb and the LEDs have a top & bottom that glow, so your beam on the road ahead of you is going to be unpredictable. You might irritate oncoming drivers or might not have enough light. Our stock headlights have too many variables especially in the "focused lens" front on the headlights. Only way to know how LEDs will work in your van is to try them. All that said, if your current headlights are foggy or yellow the focus* will be non-existent and the light will be spread wide and high, which means it is dim on the road in front with much of the light wastefully shooting into the trees.
@@kyletrafas2869 I suggest replacing the lens when switching to LED. Your original lens or replacement installed by a previous owner may not work well with LED, especially if the lens is yellowed or foggy. I don't have a lot of experience with this but I know the replacement lenses from MillionMileSprinter work well with LED and there are some lens versions that don't. If you are looking for improved headlights, just changing bulbs will probably be underwhelming. Changing the lenses will make a big difference and adding LED will increase that difference. When changing only the bulbs there is a chance** the combination with your lenses will make things worse, not better. Only way to know for sure is try it. Park about 10 feet from a wall and look at your projection before and after replacing the bulbs.
Yes, and it is pretty easy, although I don't remember the details. Removing two fuses from under the driver seat, I think. There was a write-up at Sprinter-Source.com but if you don't find it I can ask around and walk you though the steps. I'll pressure you to join our Patreon membership, but you won't regret it. :)
Adjusts the aim of the headlights up and down to compensate for heavy loads tilting the van up in the front. When the headlights age the beam gets so blurred we can't see any difference, but when the lights were new there was a definite line on the road where the top of beam met the asphalt. These new lights will restore that feature but if you don't hot-shot heavy loads you probably won't use it.
@@FloridaVanMan Sure enough I parked with the back wheels higher and at dusk put some pine cones where the top of the headlights reached and then adjusted it from 0 to 1 to 2 and increasingly the headlights move downward and then went back to zero move back upward so my 2004 van motors in the headlights still work. Thanks.

Good point but just to be clear, MillionMileSprinter is not our brand. We share a passion for Sprinters and are good friends. I buy trusted parts from them and advise others to do the same. They share our videos to help with installation, so we fit together nicely. I've been working on my own Sprinters for 17 years but Joel has been helping others much longer than I have.
Yes, I'd be happy to donate this van your church right after you donate $22,000 to my UA-cam channel. Why would your god, the creator of all things, want MY van donated? Can't he create just one more van for his ministry? While you are asking him about vans pleas ask why 8 million of your citizens don't have clean water but I have so much clean water I poop in 2 gallons of it every day just so I don't need to leave my house.
So there is no upgrade for the high beam at all?? Are the low beam LED’s much brighter than the standard? I do allot of night driving here in Australia, I have both LED spotlights and light bar, when I dim my lights for oncoming traffic, the low beam is ridiculously low!

Please see our video about lighting. Dave did an excellent talk about the complexity of headlights. They aren't just a glow on the front of a car.

short concise & close ups when needed TOP VIDEO
Why does it say in the video description "LED bulbs in our tail lights cause problems"....what are the problems? Thanks for clarifying

yes
Joel just changed out my 2006 T1N 3500 with his LED assemblies. Great!
Thank you so much for the tutorial!
Glad it was helpful!
Great tutorial!👍👍
How come after 8:48 into the video, everything is all wet?
oh yeah... Florida.
How does the turn signal light stay on on the US models? the euro model does not have that option...
where do you order those with the LED upgrade? thanks

What are those two white knobs on the backside of the headlights?
Aiming adjustments.

Yes, just buy the correct bulbs so you dont blind oncoming cars

What does motor in headlight housing do? Thanks 👍
The motors raise or lowers the headlight beam. There’s a dial switch on the dash that controls it.
