I was watching one of your videos and recognized the van you have listed for sale from my local searches. Turns out I live right down the road. Anyway, this vid saved me as I went to look at this same van today. Luckily I watched your buyers guide vid just before I left and spotted enough things to make it a no-go for me. I was just browsing you channel and spotted this vid and was like "waaaaaiiiiit a minute". Thanks for the great info.
Don't miss the Rolling Realtor Playlist. We have another episode being edited today. Another over-priced pile of junk with a laundry list of problems including frothy oil in the radiator, pine-needles in the transmission tube, and oil that is so black it's almost gritty. Oh, did I mention it won't start and had 120k miles more on the dash than shown in the ad? I have leads on a few better vans. Send me an email for details, Bill@FloridaVanMan.com
Oh no! I'm sure you paid too much but we can hope it is a good van, not packed full of the lies, fraud and blatant racism he showed when I was at his shop. I'm white as snow, so he assumed it was OK to say some really ugly things after anyone with color left the shop.
I wish my inspector gave me a simple ‘no go’ answer about my sprinter’s problems. If you’re a sprinter shopping near bill you should definitely use him!! How would you overcome the rust issue FVM?
Actually this one isn’t horrible. It definitely needs a paint refresh and sanding + treatment of the surface rust. The roof AC would have to come out and we would have to grind and restore as much as we could, but i dont know if we’d be able to put the AC or even a fan back on that roof.
Is it FLorida, or are these Yankee transplant vans That there is so much rust? I agree with the other comments, though! I love these sprinter check videos!
Don't forget Florida is surrounded by salt water, ocean breeze and sand-pack roads. Not all Florida vans are rustless. But we average far less rust than most places.
The U.S. models have an EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculate) that is intended to burn some of the particulate in our exhaust, create a better burn, and reduce pollution. When the vans get older these EGR's tend to be problematic and many people delete/bypass the system. It's not something I generally suggest, but when the EGR is causing terrible fuel consumption and smoke at the tail-pipe... It obviously isn't reducing pollution any more.
Just buy it , that's when the fun starts.
I’m from New England. This is what we call “no rust” !! You should see both mine underneath. Yeesh
These inspection videos are so helpful. Thank you
Another episode is being edited today. Stay Tuned for more....
