There are no adequate words to describe the visuals or the soundtrack...such a lovely blessing to have found this delightful video...how is it your subscriptions aren't well into the millions ?...so nice to have such beautiful visuals along with gorgeous music without the distraction of words...blessings and be safe...
Your videos are exceptional! The type of thing you see that has won a film festival somewhere. I watched the first 3 videos twice each and will no doubt catch this one a second time. Well Done! Keep up the good work and travel safe!
So exciting to see another video appear. I can't watch it straight away. I need clear air and no distractions. Every time, another masterpiece. Thank you! Arigato gozaimasu! Merci beaucoup!
Just found the channel and subscribed. Stunned. I don't know what's more awe-inspiring; the astounding vistas, your courage, the cinematography, or that you're doing this double-handed in a 50 yr old 34' fiberglas production boat. Truly remarkable. This isn't just superior content; it's a whole level beyond.
Precisely! How amazing these guys are! Grit and beauty. No excuses, no 50 foot aluminum hull, no million dollar trimaran, just tight sheets, and tiller steering. The definition of bad-ass-ness. We did 30k nm on the milk run, now to get back out there Tupaiastyle!
I have been sailing since 1975 and not easily impressed by the myriad of u tuber’s online… But… you have absolutely bowled me over and have me enthralled by your amazing high latitude sailing adventures, sublimely complemented by fabulous music…👏🏼👍🏼
So many perfect shots... so many good cuts and perfect alignment with music and sound effects that it gets boring! So good that I always watch at least one episode before "this" new one...
J'ai étudié et pris des notes dans cette région du Sud, comme l'Arctique canadien. Ce qu’ils ont fait et ce qu’ils font est formidable, alors je les félicite. I have been studying and taking notes in this Southern region, like the Canadian Arctic. What they have done and are doing is great, so I congratulate them. 👍

J'ai savouré chaque image de cette aventure exceptionnelle. Fabuleux de beauté et de diversité de la Nature! Un grand bravo à vous et bonne chance pour la suite!
Simply amazing!! Your filming and editing, choice of music and sound…just perfect! Thank you so much for taking us with you to such extraordinary places. Fantastique
Respect.
Your films are hymns to the Sea and to the exquisite and often ferocious realms of Nature. The sparseness of people adds to the sacredness of the experience. I love that you are "sensible risk-takers" and not "look at me stunt merchants." Keep up your superb Living and Sharing. Was the penguin music from Japanese theatre (Kabuki) or perhaps Balinese gamelan music?
Respect!
Guys once again congrats for your excellent work and effort, thanks for sharing this and continue alike, cannot think of more inspiring prompt to consider following your example seriously
Thank you for passing through my country, your journey has been inspiring, exploring those less frequented areas. I hope you had a good time, I don't know if you decided to go further north or west? it is also beautiful, as is Fjord Eyre with the Pio XI Glacier (the largest in the southern hemisphere outside of Antarctica and is still growing), Fjord Comau and Fjord Quintupeu, Tortel, Island of Chiloe like Lemuy etc. also the islands of Madre de Dios (made of marble) and the Juan Fernandez Archipelago are places worth to sailing.
What a beautiful video .. two questions if you would please allow me..... what is the name of that glacier ? and .. is your boat made of aluminum or steel?... because you guys are really close to ice .. again great video .. unique
Another wonderful video. Been waiting for this one! such a great interdigitation of music to the video. love the birds! what kind are they? rock on!! Even my very-hard-to-impress wife loved your video!
Your summary of the trip section is well written and you've either A, been trained how to use a camera or B, have a natural talent as the videography is of a vey high quality. [ I looked back through your past videos and found the same to be true ] Most of the cuts are on point to the beat of the music. However, the storyline is a bit fractured in that a lot of the time it feels that the content is just a whole heap of clips [albeit, very well shot ones] lumped together, i.e. they don't flow properly. Sometimes jump cuts don't suit a situation or aid with the flow, [ Jump cuts are really good for high paced, intense productions, often with intense music or dialogue ] I seriously feel fades or gentle dissolves would better suit your style, and consider holding the clips longer if changing from one dramatic landscape to another [ e.g. no snow to snow or glacier, or a very obvious change of location ]. Try to think of it as a story as you're shooting, i.e. remember, or write down, how you ended your last clip so that you can maybe commence your next clip in a complimentary way. Put the story together with the camera, not the edit. The edit is for cleaning and grading the story. Another point, I think your creative choice to overlay to the music to the foreground is possibly detrimental to your style. I picked up some nice audio of the natural background in some of the clips, therefore I'm assuming you have a half decent mic with you, [ even if it's only the onboard mic ] I would strongly recommend you use the audio off it more, it will add real depth to your footage. The footage of the gale conditions is an example, someone like myself, whose been there, seen that, understands the shear power behind it, but for those that haven't experienced it, the howling of the wind completes the experience. Human's rely very heavily on both audio and visual cues to fully comprehend a situation, particularly if they're not there. I understand you may not have a lot of audio gear with you, but really try and learn to use what you have to your advantage. It may be worth experimenting with some quiet calm narration as well, possibly explaining sections of the passage and the highs and lows of that section. Don't ad hoc it, write it down, polish it up, then read it with relevance. Maybe your wife could do this. [ I'm making the assumption, based upon the fact that she's often in front of the camera in the scenes, that she doesn't do a lot of the filming. Apologies if I'm wrong ] It need not be the entirety of the clip, tbh, I feel full narration would upset the feel of your production. I understand that if you don't have Lav's with you, this may be a bit hard, but maybe you could roll the camera, use it's mic and just save the audio in post. I have absolutely no idea as to what NLE you're using but might I suggest you purchase Resolve Studio if that's not what you're using. I know it's USD$300~, which when floating around on a tub of nuts, bolts and cloth that constantly requires repairing [yes, I own one as well, named 'The Silent Knight' ! ] it's quite an outlay, but it's a program you'll have for life and one you'll be able to grow into and not out of. It can really help with the audio side as well, because the voice isolation is honestly, second to none in an NLE of that price. I think your video skills warrant it. I see from Marine Traffic you're tucked away nicely, so you're in a position to maybe put some of the above into practice if you're interested when you sail back out. I'm curious to know what drone you're using as the bit rate seems good. Also, out of interest, what camera gear are you using. Please don't take the above the wrong way, I actually really like your work and, trust me, I understand the herculean effort that goes into a production such as yours. Well done, take care and look after each other out there. Al.
I know I may be an outlier here, but the main reason I watch sailing videos is to see boats sailing. Don't get me wrong, the video was great, cinematic even, but maybe mount one of your cameras on the pushpit & get some more sailing footage, please? Either way, all appropriate buttons have been pushed.
Perfection……but i was just arguing with my my wife( i made videos off my travels to) i find some off the unbelievable beatifull footage shoot with the drone would be even more dramatic when you slow it down a bit, some i find to fast( speed off drone above the dramatic scenes like glaciers etc) I come not near your footage n or editing but what do you think ? Ps do like navionics provide adequate charts for these regions, and what with the insurance??😅
