Very interesting conversation. God bless Kuda for coming to share his insights. This channel is at its best when it goes beyond the typical political actors, in terms of the interviewees. Even when it's not someone that viewers necessarily agree with 💯, like the war veteran the other day. Kuda deserves respect because he's willing to commit his time, energy and resources into the causes he cares about, he remains politically engaged despite the personal and financial cost to him and his family, and he's willing to try and stir people's thinking and carry them along. A huge amount of credit to him as well for consistently honouring his wife. Lots of guys have wives who complement them very well and motivate them to greater heights,, but for the sake of their pride they downplay or hide the wives' contribution.
I completely agree about the kwachu concept. Is it a form of apathy, caused by depression? So many Zimbabweans (including leaders) love jetting off to Dubai, which is super-clean, and it's so strange that this doesn't make people hungry to improve their own surroundings. Instead, the focus is more on investing in one's own 'portable' look - the clothing, cosmetics, cars etc. And interestingly, if someone does come along and build a fancy house in a very average neighbourhood, it doesn't take much for neighbours to despise them or start counting down till the moment the house begins to fall into disrepair. It will take a considerable effort to move away from this mindset, but well done for starting the conversation. And for bringing it to a wider audience, especially those who don't dwell on Twitter!

Out of 40 houses in our road it’s only maybe 3 or 4 of us who pick up litter outside our gate. My daughter (grade 3) asked me why we are the only ones who pick up litter and I told her it’s our responsibility to lead, if we keep cleaning our house maNeighbors achasvika pakunyara and they will follow. Now she doesn’t litter and she knows, my wife knows kana uine marara usarasire muRoad. I always say better urasire mumota ndozorasa hangu. Be the change you want to see.

Good discussion but Dhara has an agenda. It should start with us, the people. I'm equally privileged to have travelled widely. We need to take pride in our environment, our infrastructure and everything. We must take responsibility before we start blaming the next person or group or institution. Lets be responsible for our actions and then demand accountability from authorities

You are very right Kuda. I recently watched a video of some lady who visited Orania (a whites only city here in S.A) and got challenged so much when I leant that everyone in that city has a job! They have even created their own currency! Their economy is very functional and they have the cleanest city in S.A. You actually have to pass an interview for you to be given citizenship there. You have to demonstrate that you share the same values as the community there. Of course if you are black you are already disqualified. It really got me thinking and I realized that the answer does not lie with politics; we can make our communities functional. There really is no need to leave any one behind. There should be a job for everyone in the community. I guess thats how our communities where constituted before the arrival of the white man with his western 'civilization'. I believe their barter trade ensured no individual went to bed on an empty stomach.
Enough of Orania. You have challenged me Kuda, I am going to paint my gate and clean up my gutters, and fix the toilet seats! Thank you for such an insightful discussion.

We have a small problem in Zimbabwe. That problem we have is leadership crisis. If the leadership in Zimbabwe can get one thing right which is being elected fairly, getting the mandate from the electorate. However the leaders want to lead people who they know are not willing to be led by them. Its a rape case affair. Hence all all the simple things like lack of confidence in currency introduced are symptoms of that same fundamental problem,. Leadership went to Russian spewed a lot of nonsense, Russian leadership and Zambian leadership just strengthened their relations. Leadership crisis makes doing business in Zimbabwe extremely expensive for both leadership and other countries and between citizens themselves. They can not transact in the currency on offer, they have to use USD. Thus a fact, the leadership keep USD in their houses and pockets, a simple villager is forced to accept currency which the leadership have refused. Development is creating new things not restoration what you allowed to deteriorate. Zimbabwe Tax Act will not classify it as revenue expenditure not capital. Country develops with capital expenditure.

Mr Presenter, there is nothing wrong with infrastructure development made from dead capital. The majority of the population outsources their resource outside the country and builds their houses or businesses within. Flip the coin, the West was developed to a greater extent by dead capital, its human force migrated and invaded resources /minerals which were not theirs. What did the invaders do with the money from our resources? They externalised funds to build infrastructure eg houses, businesses etc in their own countries.
Slavery is when you have majority of the population of a country owns properties ,vehicles etc primarily financed by the banking sector.

It's not about culture it's about how people are now too poor to maintain these houses. We also have councils run by people who don't know what they are supposed to do. On refuse people are trying to get independent contractors to collect refuse but then not everyone can afford it. Rubbish disposal is the responsibility of local authorities. You're looking at symptoms not the real cause. But then be a coconut and blame it on the skin all you want
