Now I've seen my fair share of Kpop survival shows but I still wasn't prepared to potentially say goodbye to any members 😂 Say what you want about YG but he really knows how to get people going. Emotions were through the roof when watching the video.

As I was saying from the start Babymonster is always going to be a 7 member group.... This was all genius business stunt by YHS. First he made us emotionally connected with the girls from "introducing videos" and then by conducting the last evaluation he made it seem like he was never going to debut 7 members but all he was doing was making us fans more emotionally connected with BabyMonsters. To finish the master plan, he made it seem like "we" fans formed the Final Babymons7er group, making us feel even more involved in group activity. By doing this all, YHS already ensured that Babymonster will have a huge "loyal" fanbase even before their debut.... What a mastermind he is, I guess that's why they say "who's the clan with the master plan, YG Baby".
I knew it was a strategy but same here I was thinking that he really chose just 5, but Iwas so appy that we got the 7 members I LOVE IT
Chiquita is my bias honestly she remains me so much of Lisa then there was Asa and Ahyeon but all these girls deserve this

agreed... amazing marketing :D If you pay attention: the ages on these cards are old (Chiquita 13 or Ruka 20 for example). That was true at the end of last year / beginning this year, but not now. Which begs the question when this was filmed (and decided)? I would bet: before they started the marketing and it really was all a marketing stunt to create more attention and get fans attached to these 7 girls. It worked perfectly. Next step: "Road To Debut" reality tv series to bridge the time until debut in fall? :)

For the example there is one grup who has 4 member called as Future 2ne1, and we don't know what happened the project was cancelled
Pinkpunk (pre debut blackpink) was little bit lucky, they got 7 member, 3 of them got eliminated and the rest is debuted as blackpink
My stomach dropped like a ton of bricks when he brought up legitimate good reasons for excluding Asa and Rora.
I've never been sure if all 7 would debut so this video was a crazy roller coaster.
I never though any of them would be sent home, but i thought 2 would go solo, a duet or be part of another group.

My creative thought is that we don’t know any of the YG trainees that are left, so if they did actually eliminate Rora and Asa, even though they are some of the best vocalists, rappers, and dancers in Babymonster, doesn’t mean they would be the best out of the new wave of trainees. Therefore, we don’t know what positions Rora would have if she got put in a different YG group.
She also probably wouldn’t be put in a YG group because he will probably take 7 years to debut another group and neither of them would have waited that long and would have left the company and gone to another.
And again, the MAIN point of my comment was the whole age thing.

What YG said seems to be true, not just marketing. Judging by the fact that Jang Hyun-seung and Mi-yeon were eliminated from Big Bang and Black Pink.
Actually I think this was marketing BECAUSE of what he's done before with BB and BP. If he wanted to cut 2 to use them in future groups, he would have. He's shown to not be afraid to make tough decisions or be hated by some fans. There's no shot he was looking at UA-cam comments or other social media posts to see if "98-99% of people want all 7" like he said, lol. He just said that to make the fans feel more connected to the group by saying we're the reason it's OT7.
