Yeah I agree meatballs in a pie is confusing cuz there’re two different textures unlike with spaghetti it’s soft and meatballs are soft too But as usual it’s another great review Cheers Gaz
When my kids were little they loved Campbell's meatballs and i used to mash them up and put them in a shortcrust pie. It was pretty tasty.Anyway we ate so many tins that we collected enough for a Campbell's meatball beachball,😂😂it got punctured on its first outing on the beach by a dog that fancied a bite.
I see the Tesco spiel doesn't include how much they pay the farmers or how appropriately they're paid for their produce. All this Malachi how supermarket chains support the farmers. BS. It's the farmers who support the supermarkets profit margin, while the farmers scrimp and scrape for a living. They're at the bottom of the food chain, so they get paid rock bottom price for their goods. Rant over! Anyway yes Gareth à bit confusing in the area of taste. Not something you'd be eating everyday. I've made leftover spaghetti bolognese pies and they're ok, but not as good as a toasted jaffle. So that pie is definitely out there! As always a top review. Cheers Gareth 👍🤤😀
I was almost tempted to pop this into my trolley. But, I opted for the Pukka Christmas Dinner pie instead. That, I really enjoyed, despite my "Wot! No sprouts?!" comment ☺️ Tesco seems to have gone down the "curious fillings" route taken by Pukka. Some things need to be kept plain and simple. The Tesco Chicken and Mushroom pie is my 'go to' evening snack. Full marks to Tesco for their pie box tab system!
Indeed. Keep it simple, that's what we like. If people want to try something fancy they'll do it themselves. Why even release a product people are going to buy only once?
The pie 🥧…. How did it go. I Was going to get some and pull a prank on my brother. Heres Christmas dinner we’re cutting down this year 😅😅😅😅. BTW he starts talking about his Christmas dinner in October 😂😂😂😂

Confused ? So am I. Let’s face it, meatballs belong on spaghetti and not in a pie. The filling ? Not really a full pie and very few meatballs. I don’t have a close Tesco to me, but if I did I wouldn’t be breaking any speed records to rush down and buy this pie. 🥴🥴. Another honest review from the man watching our pocket and palate. 👍🏻👍🏻.

With a quite tall pie like this I usually cover the top with a half-sheet of kitchen foil for ⅔ of the cooking time, then remove the foil. The pie still gets hot, but the pastry lid stays golden, not brown verging on overdone.
My girls bought me a pie maker, I've fallen down the rabbit hole !! So many ideas and variations of fillings and pastry flavours, that one you had actually looked nice, shame you weren't sure on the sweetness, better luck next time eh, keep on reviewing, great job.
Bah, even the title of the box made me reach!! I’ve said it once I’ll say it again, some things just shouldn’t be in pies!! Lol thanks for the review once again dude appreciate you.
Out of date food, I rarely eat in date stuff apart from milk, eggs, and chicken. Frozen food doesn’t matter. I am thinking of getting some “Wiltshire Farm Foods” ready meals, have you reviewed any? Will you be reviewing any? If they deliver in your area there is no delivery charges. Seem to be mainly oven or microwave. I haven’t found an option for Airfryer
I read the ingredients and it has no added sugar; too many processed foods, especially in the US, have sugar, or worse, corn syrup, added. Using sugar cuts acid in the tomato sauce (so they say), a friend says a roiling boil when making sauce for 20 minutes also cuts the acid. I do not like peppers in my tomato sauce at all! I think this pie is a gimmick to try, and you did that kind sir, well done!
Not sure about that it's like if you made a pie from whatever you had in the cupboard/fridge and had no traditional ingredients other than pastry. Saying that over here in Sweden I have some New Zealand friends one of which owns a pie business and the stuff they put in the pies are bizarre ...some work but some are just wrong .Keep up the good work ,another great review. 👍

Another top review, Must admit it does not appeal to me, Pastry looks a little dry, the filling looks like an expensive pet food! and the actual pie looked only half filled, (this seems to apply to most pies these days), I was surprised when you said about the sweetness, I thought with those red peppers it would have more of a spicy bite to it! I reckon your 5/10 score was more than fair.
Hi Gaz! I would have thought that edible products that have been frozen before the best by date and then cooked and eaten after the best by date, it would always be ok.
