Today, we're putting together our dream cast for the "upcoming" mean girls musical movie adaptation and we and SO EXCITED for our cast list! It's SO FETCH! (yikes)
We're excited to hear who is actually cast in this movie adaptation. What do you guys thinks? Who would you cast in these roles?

No hate, but I wasn’t a fan of Reneé. I felt like her riffs in Someone Gets Hurt were really unnecessary and they made the song flat. I really loved Taylor Louderman’s Regina and kind of wish we could bring her back! I was so sad when she left Broadway!

DUDE Ariana as Karen is genius. Her role in Scream Queens was super airhead and sooo funny, she’d be amazing as Karen.

I was thinking it would be Heather Morris because she played Brittney in Glee but Ari is our queen so I’m ok with it.

He wouldn’t be suitable for Mean Girls anyways.. if he were to be cast he’d need to have songs and a decent part. In Mean Girls the only males that have decent parts are Arron and Damien and since Corden can’t pass as a teen it wouldn’t work.

Sabrina Carpenter should be Cady. She only got to play her for two days, she has a great voice, and she's played sweet girl and bad girl equally well. Also, Jordan Fisher as Aaron anyone?

This list is so incredible and I would cry if this is how they cast it. However, with how accurate to age you were casting a lot of the characters I don’t feel that Arianna, Liz, and Alex (even though they are fantastic and I love them so so so so so much) will play to that same age when surrounded by people who are actually 18 to early twenties.

The second you said Joshua as Aaron, I knew Cady was going to be Olivia. I honestly think they would both be amazing in these roles and would attract so many viewers!
Okay but hear me out. She was in the original Mean Girls movie. She’s been in several movie musicals and we know for a fact that she can sing. Mrs. George needs to be able to sing (please don’t cut "What’s Wrong With Me (Reprise)" out.

AMANDA SEYFRIED! It just makes so much sense to me that she’d go from Karen to Mrs. George who are two (very different) airheads. Plus she’s a really good singer. I just want it to happen so bad!

I totally agree producers should employ the community more but these movies always need some big names to attract attention so choosing Ariana and Liz makes so much sense, they dont work in musicals now but they were on broadway when they were young and are also really big musical fans (they were the ones that got me into this world lol) so if the producers do cast big names to attract attention I hope they cast people who respect and appreciate musical theatre like Ari and Liz do

I honestly thought that the "drama for the tabloids" was that fact that Sabrina Carpenter was paying the role on Broadway after only getting like two days of being the character before COVID shut it down. I 100% forgot about the Joshua casting by that point in the video ahaha.

Also what about Mr. Duvall? I personally would love someone like Eddie Murphy to come in and bring the laughs as a fun small appearance.
I actually feel like Elle McLemore would be a good choice for Karen, since she played a similar role in Heathers, and just overall seems like such a kind and likable person

First, they were in 13 the musical(plus that means they both have Broadway background) when they were teenagers. Then, they were the iconic duo in victorious that we all know and love. These choices are pretty perfect! I really loved the Liz and Alex mentions. I was surprised that I didn't hear Sabrina Carpenter's name in the mix with the tabloid drama conversation re: Joshua & Olivia, especially since she was cast as Cady for a split second. I wouldn't necessarily promote drama (especially between young women) and they've both since cleared the air but I think this could be a great hypothetical project to work on together -- Olivia as Cady and Sabrina as Regina. I also thought of Rachel Crow as Karen perhaps?
I also think re: stars on the rise / new talent goes, I can see Madison Reyes as Cady or Janis.
Plz plz make more of these!
Some ideas that came to mind are The Color Purple or Miss Saigon 🤷🏼 (both “in the works”)

I'm so happy there's so many movie musicals. I live in Australia so we only get a few musicals at a time. Been lucky enough to see 4 already this year which is crazy & then we have more later this year so I'm just so excited for this musical filled year.
